Great Comeback By Rosies

Wednesday Division 4

The Average Joes left 2 points slip against Rosies as the Carrigaline boys came back from 5-2 down with 10 minutes to go to earn a point. The Joes helped Rosies by conceding an og for Rosies 4^th, and Mark Cunningham levelled late on with a fine strike.

James Mealy showed Sub Standard Liege the way as he ran the show from midfield, as they easily beat the Inbetweeners. Phil Wade also chipped in with some slick finishing. How the Inbetweeners contributed largely to this game that produced a high level of skill more accustomed to division 1.

The tongue twisting between Fritzl Palace and Crystal Fallace ended in a 2-2 draw and a share of the spoils. This game was a bad tempered affair with 3 red cards. Darragh O’Regan scored an excellent goal for Fallace as Mike Wren and Paul Stack were on the mark for Palace.

Wednesday Division 3

An excellent performance from Darragh Laffan proved decisive for Kurtz Wallopers as they came out on top against FC Coping Badly in a very tight. Laffan was instrumental in most of their good play and was on the scoresheet twice.

MP O’Sullivan produced a battling performance as they turned the tide against the Baggios. The Baggios dominated early proceedings and looked comfortable at 3-1. But the Cash and Carry boys led by man of the match Gavin Ahern never gave up and equalised through Jay Nixon. Colin Gurhy stole the points with 2 late goals for O’Sullivans.

A Dan Twomey hatrick for Dynamo Tonduff proved pivitol in their tie with Real Soso Bad. This game could have gone either way after Steve Riordain levelled for Real, direct from a corner kick to make it 2-2. But slick finishing from Twomey proved to be the difference.

Wednesday Division 2

The Cuban Priests continued their excellent start to the Footy leagues, as they won by a comfortable 6-1 scoreline. However the score flattered the Priests as this was a closer contest that the scoreline suggests as Jim Walsh and company fought hard for Douglas. Stephen O Donovan, who looks an excellent player was in tremendous form for the Priests and scored 4 times. The pick of which was a solo goal where he ran from deep in his own half, to calmly slot home.

CUH were too strong for Balaga Tonga and won comfortable 5-2. Cathal O Sullivan was man of the match and scored a hatrick, while Ivan Weir excellent finishing returned after a lean period in front of goal last season.

Jamie Owen scored a late equaliser for Hit or Miss against Nualight. This tie was end to end and finished 3-3. Kieran Buckley scored with a bullet like shot for Nualight’s 2^nd goal, but Owen’s leveller was deserved as Fiachra O Driscoll fought hardest for Hit or Miss.

Wednesday Division 1

Korona produced a total football display and maintain their 100% record,

As they beat the Celts 6-2. The Mahon Lads battled hard early on, but Korona showed patience and never stopped passing the ball and eventually wearing their opponents down. Kris Pawlik led the way for the Polish lads with 2 crisp finishes.

Last Season champions Racing Club got their campaign under way with a fine win over the Larrys. Fergal Lynch was excellent in defence for Racing and broke forward twice to get on the scoresheet. Peter Fitzamurice played up front for Racing and this move worked a treat as he scored 4 times.

The Larrys have some very skilful players in Eamonn Fitzgerald and Stephen Kenny, but lack organisation in defence and conceded some soft goals.

Far From Athletic produced the performance of the evening as they ran out 8-4 winners against the Tools. Darragh O Regan was tremendous for Far From and scored an impressive 5 times. Colin Hammond scored twice for

The Tools, who were guilty of missed chances when the game was tight.

Thirtysomethings Looking Good

Thursday Division 1

The 30 Somethings top the table as they made it 3 wins out of 3 with a good win over the Ex Pats. This division should prove to be tight with all teams capable of beating each other on a good day. CPL who are newly promoted look like they will be able to hold their own as they also had a good 9-6 win over the Known Quantities. Rory Walsh, Sean and Alan Jordan were excellent for CPL and were among the goals in a very open high scoring affair. Peter Fitzmaurice was best for the Knowns and hit a hatrick.

Luca and Mark Murphy scored 2 excellent goals for the 30 Somethings as they won 4-2 in a much tighter game against the Pats.

Kevin Garde was in top form for EZY FC who produced an excellent team performance to win out 7-5 against the All Blacks. Robbie Healy and Niall Murphy did best for the All Blacks.

Thursday Division 2

The Net Busters were a bit too strong for Cordal Rovers and came out on top by 5-1. Tim Crowley scored a brace for the Busters and they top the table after 3 games and if they can tighten their defence they could go all the way to their first Footy league title. Apple who are newly promoted from Division 3 have also made an excellent start and they beat PTF who were well below par on the night. Mark Ryan looks more comfortable in this division and scored an excellent hatrick for Apple.

The Barrack Rats and the Bandits produced the best game of the night and shared 6 goals. The 2 best goals were saved till last as James Fitzgerald scored a rocket from long range for the Rats and Dave Creedon produced an excellent piece of skill to score with a backheel for the Bandits.

Thursday Division 3

The Sons of Pitches and the Flying Column played out a very close and hard fought encounter. The Column who were 2 up at the break coming out on top. An early own goal by the Pitches was crucial to the tie. Cormac Crowley scored for the Pitches in the 2^nd half to make it tense until the final whistle but the Column held out. Kieran McCarthy was man of the match and scored the Column’s 2nd goal.

The experienced Jack Russell produced a man of the match display and scored a brace for Whitfords who easily dispatched Panicakios 5-0. The Whitfords surprisingly find themselves top of this pile after 3 weeks with 7 points. JT Specials who are in 2^nd spot are also playing excellent and find themselves in new territory towards the right end of the table. They beat South City 2-1. The returning John McCarthy was best for the Specials and should strengthen their team. The dependable Rob Carpenter scored their first goal. Ciaren Maguire scored for the City lads before being carried off with a serious injury. We wish him a speedy recovery!

Far From And Celts Draw

Wednesday Division 1

Far From Athletic and The Celts played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in a game that could have gone either way. Far From led 2-1 with 5 minutes remaining only to concede 2 goals and then equalise with the last kick of the game through Ian Kenneally. Aaron O Sullivan was best for the Celts and was on the scoresheet twice.

The Tools beat The Larrys 4-2 in another very open game. Terry O Connell excelled and Shane McCarthy scored a hatrick for the Tools, a superb volley from a corner being the pick of the bunch. Eamon Fitzgerald and Stephen Kenny were best for The Larrys.

Korona dispatched Racing Club 6-3 and look like being early season favourites. The very skilful Pawel Pciak was central to all their best moves and also scored a hatrick.

Wednesday Division 2

Newcomers Messy Ath beat a much changed Hit of Miss side 5-2. Killian Boland showed some real skill for Messy and scored a brilliant solo goal beating 3 players on a mazy run before slotting home. Paul Richardson tried hardest for Hit or Miss.

The Cuban Priests and Nualight drew 4-4 in the best game of the night. Liam Ahern came to the rescue for Nualight with a last gasp but deserved equaliser. Ronan Sherman and Martin Sheehan were tops for the Priests.

CUH were too strong for Douglas Mortgage and came out on top by 5-2. But Connor Quirke & the Mortgage boys battled hard and were a little unlucky having hit the post twice and having a goal disallowed. Ivan Weir was best for CUH.

Wednesday Division 3

Baggios and FC Coping Badly top this division with 2 wins out of 2. Both side won by the odd goal in their fixtures. Phil Mohally coming up with a late winner for Baggios as Wayne O Callaghan scored a brace as they beat Real So-so Bad. Coping Badly beat last seasons winners MP O Sullivan 2-1. Martin Hallahan and John O Brien coming up with the goals. Mick Crowley lead the way for O’Sullivans and scored with a tremendous low drive to keep the game alive.

A Brian Twomey hatrick sealed the points for Dynamo Tonduff as they beat newcomers Kurtz Wallopers 5-3. This division should be a real dog fight as all teams are very close in standard.

Wednesday Division 4

Rosies find themselves top of the pile here, but only on goal difference from Fritzl Palace. Both sides with maximum points. Rosies had an easy win over Crystal Fallace with Martin Higgins in top form & scoring twice. Fritzl Palace had a much tougher game against Sub Standard Liege. Sean Stack with the winner for Palace. Kevin Hallahan scored a memorable goal for Liege after a neat one two with James Mealy.

The Average Joes showed their experience with a 3-1 win over The Inbetweneers. Joe O’Sullivan and the evergreen John “Speedie” O’Donovan with 2 cracking goals. The Joes Keeper Mike Bartlett was in fine form and made some brave saves towards the end of the game to seal the points for the Joes.

MP O Sullivans Win Division 3 Title

Wednesday Division 3

MP O’Sulivan celebrated their victorious season with a hard earned 2-1 win over Fritzl Palace. Mick Crowley & MVP nominee Alan Forde, were again excellent and scored both goals for O’Sullivans.

Joe O’Sullivan again makes the headlines for his side, the Average Joes as he scored a last minute winner against Rosies to win 4-3. This was a cracking tie between 2 very experienced teams. Martin Higgins, who impressively won the Golden Boot, after missing the first 5 games of the season, again scored twice for the Carrigaline boys.

Wayne O’Callaghan also scored a last minute winner against an unlucky Bank of New York team who did well to come back from 2 nil down to draw level. The hard working Declan McMahon scored an excellent goal for the Bankers to get them back into the tie only for them to concede in the last minute to lose.

Wednesday Division 1

Far From Athletic did well to beat CUH 4-0 after the Wilton Boys enjoyed a lot of Possession but could not convert it into goals. A brace from Pat O’Regan helped Far From secure the points but it was an excellent all round team performance that keeps them on track for their title challenge.

Douglas Mortgage new boy Robert Higgins was the best player on the pitch and scored a hatrick as they beat a hard working Cork Celtic side by 6 goals to 4. Thomas Kelly scored twice for Celtic and was also impressive.

Wednesday Division 2

Killian Hogan who has been superb for the Golden Oldies all season scored twice and set up another for Barry Fitzgerald as they overcame Dynamo Tonduff 3-0. Dave Murphy tried hardest for Tonduff who did better in this game than the scoreline suggests. The Oldies now need all 3 points in their final game against Hit or Miss to clinch this division. If they slip up, the ever improving Multiple Scorgasams could pip them for the league as they go into battle with Balaga Tonga in their final encounter next Wednesday. Balaga Tonga again slipped up as they went down to The Crew in a thrilling game that finished 8-7. Mark Parkes was brilliant for the Crew and scored a very impressive 5 goals. Philip Sweetman replied with 4 goals for Balaga but were guilty or too many missed chances and so ended up on the losing side.

Thursday Division 1

The Ex Pats came from 2 nil down to score 4 without reply as they beat the Net Busters. Tim O Connor was outstanding for the Pats as they clawed their way back into this game. Eoin Sheehy also did well for the winners and his good performance is worthy of a mention.

The Cow Tippers put in an impressive display and were way too strong as they trashed the All Blacks. Peter Kelleher with 5 goals, Paul Smith and Dave Johnson were in top form for the Tippers.

Title winners for the 2^nd season in a row, OS Naventages were also impressive as they also had a big victory the 30 Somethings. Paulo Santos scored a hatrick for the Portuguese outfit.

Thursday Division 2

Game of the week definitely goes to champions Sporting CPL and the Boothouse Bingers who played out a cracking 5 all draw. Man of the Match Robbie Bowen scored twice for the Bingers as Alan Jordan from distance and a great header by Fiachra O’Driscoll were the pick of the CPL goals.

BNY had an excellent win 2-0 over Novartis and played the counter attacking to a tee. Novartis had all the possession but could not break down a resilient BNY defence. Cain Fleming scored a cracking 2^nd goal to seal the points and break the spirit of the Novartis side. A beautifully worked goal

By Ken O’Connor for Athletico PTF, was enough to clinch the points against the Rovers. The impressive Michael Downey was best for PTF on night.

The Bandits ousted Sons of Pitches by the odd goal in another close game that finished 3-2. Pa Doyle was man of the match for the Pitches and also scored a cracking 2 goal. The Pitches pushed for the equaliser but left it a bit late as the Bandits held out for a win. Seamus Keane scored a brace for the Bandits.

Thursday Division 3

Apple Exiles won the all important game with fellow contenders Panicakios and now close in clinching this division. 2 glorious chances that were missed by Panicakios when the game was tied at nil all cost them dearly. Seamus O Brien did put Panicakios ahead after a good move, but after that it was one way traffic as the Exiles played all the football. Ronan Geary scored a cracking equaliser from a tight angle. The very lively Jeremy Dullea was brillant in the 2^nd half and put them ahead with a well taken goal.

Fabrice Fortune shone for the Flying Column as they beat Whitfords. Fortune scored twice for the Column as they scored 3 goals in a 2 minute 2^nd half spell. Alan Mullery was excellent in midfield for the Column.

Kieran Maguire was best for South City ran amuck in the 2^nd half, as the put 8 past the JT Specials and won comfortably. Rob Carpenter scored a brace for the Specials

Golden Oldies Win Top Of The Table Clash

Wednesday Division 2

Honours in this division should now go to the Golden Oldies as they won a crucial clash with season rivals Balaga Tonga. Balaga held the lead until 8 minutes to go, after Joe Dempsey scored an early opener. Damien Kennedy was in superb form and made some wonderful saves for Balaga to keep the Oldies at bay. But when Eoin Cotter equalised, the Balaga heads dropped and their flood gates opened as and Cotter, Killan and Philip Hogan ran in 4 more late goals.

Multiple Scorgasams had a 6-4 win over Hit and Miss to keep in with a chance for honours and move into 2^nd place. Kieran Buckley scored a hatrick and Ian Cotter was also instrumental in their victory.

Wednesday Division 3

David Green was in great form for Fritzl Palace and scored a brilliant late goal to seal the points in a hard fought battle with the Baggios.

Sub Standard Liege and Rosies played out an exciting 2-2 draw. A late James Mealy equaliser sealed a point for Liege. Michael O’Sullivan was excellent for Rosies and scored their 2^nd goal.

MP O’Sullivan came from a goal down at half time but were too strong for BNYM FC in the 2^nd half and ran out easy winners. Gavin Ahern was excellent for O’Sullivans. The dependable Mick Crowley hit a brace as did Colin Guiney and Bernard Curtin for the champions.

Joe O Sullivan rolled back the years for the Average Joes and scored twice to help his team to a narrow 3-2 win over Gowlacticos. His 2^nd goal was a beautiful lob over the Gowlacticos keeper and was the highlight in this end to end game.

Wednesday Division 1

Racing Club and Far From Athletic kept up momentum with 2 good wins to keep their last game of the season to be a top of the table, winner take all clash. Padraig McGovern hit a hatrick for Racing who dispatched Douglas Mortgage 4-1. Cormac Murray did well for Racing in defence and made some crucial blocks during this win that kept his side on top by 2 points.

Far From easily dispatched an inexperienced Cork Celtic team 5-1. Shane Aherne was excellent for Celtic and got the man of the match. Pat O’Regan and Phil Mohally got a brace a piece for Far From.

Thursday Division 1

The Cow Tippers had too much power and pace for the Ex Pats and won out

comfortably in this one sided affair. Peter Kelleher who has a real eye for the goal hit a hatrick and the ever reliable Steve Dwyer also hit the net on a few occasions.

OS Naventages were out played by the Net Busters who put in a great shift and worked very hard for this surprise win. Paul Sexton was superb and hit a hatrick for Net Busters. Adrian Burke was also in good scoring form and hit a brace.

The All Blacks and the 30 Somethings fixture produced, as expected another tight game that resulted in a 1-1 draw. A great strike from Graham Virgo cancelled out an Alan Bowen goal for the Somethings

Thursday Division 2

Novartis and Boothouse Bingers produced the tie of the evening that resulted in a 4-2 for Novartis. This very tight game was won in the dying minutes as Novartis came up with 2 very late goals to seal a great win. Karl Daly was again in brilliant form and scored twice for the winners.

Paddy Daughton came up with the winning goal for the Bandits as the beat Rovers by the odd goal. Stephen Keane tried hardest for Rovers and scored with a great strike to give Rovers the lead.

Ken O Connor starred for Athletico PTF as the trounced Sons of Pitches 6-1. He scored twice, one long range effort and the other with a great header to help seal the 3 points for PTF.

Thursday Division 3

Apple Exiles produced a great team performance that resulted in an easy win over JT Specials. Mark Ryan was central to the slick passing of the Exiles who have got stronger as the season has progressed.

Conor O’Mahony came up with a last minute winner for the Flying Column as they beat their Barrack St rivals South City, 4-3 in an excellent game. Alan Mullary was excellent for the Column who were made to work very hard for the points.

The goalkeeping skills of Jim Hanlon was a feature in Panicakios’s win

over Whitfords, that maintains their title aspirations. They ran out 2-0 winners but were pushed all the way by the experienced Whitfords. Simon and Seamus O’Brien were on the scoresheet for Panicakios.

Lucky Break For Far From

Wednesday Division 1

Last Wednesday’s floodlight failure caused all games in this division to be cancelled. At the time Far From Athletic were were 3-1 down to leaders Racing Club with just 20 minutes to play. This crucial game between 1^st and 2^nd in the table is now is rescheduled for Christmas Week and should be a cracking finish to this division. Far From have the football to be able to turn this tie around, but should now encounter an even more determined Racing Club team as they can feel a bit of an injustice was done not to just replay out the remaining 20 minutes. This abandoned game was an excellent performance from Racing who were faster to the ball in the opening 20 minutes and took advantage of defensive errors. Padraig McGovern, Rory O’Leary and Edward Noonan all scored and were 3 nil up at half time. A brilliant solo effort by Aaron Atkinson for Far From gave his side hope before the lights went out.

Wednesday Division 2

Two others crucial ties in this division were also affected by the storm.

Balaga Tonga and Multiple Scorgasams was a 1-1 draw when the lights failed, but was a cracking tie. A brilliant goal from Kieran Buckley who nut megged his opponent before toe poking the ball to the corner cancelled out an early John Duggan goal for Balaga.

Hit & Miss were 3 nil down to table toppers Golden Oldies. Killian Hogan and Eoin Cotter were excellent for the Oldies, but were pushed harder than the scoreline suggests by Dan Williams and company and may not have it all their own way in the replay.

Wednesday Division 3

2 games were completed in this division. Fritzl Palace beat Gowlacticos 3-2 to end their chances of honours as MP O’Sullivan overcame Sub Standard Liege in another tight game to seal the division 3 title. Ger Kelleher was again best for O’Sullivans who also had Lenny Lyons and Shane Forde on the scoresheet. Mike Wren was man of the match in the Palace v Gowlacticos tie as Killian Lynch notched 2 long range strikes for the winners.

Thursday Division 1

2 great goals by Emmanuel sealed the points for OS Naventages and pushes them closer to retaining the division 1 title. Paulo Santos also scored as they beat the 30 Somethings 3-1.

Steve Dwyer was outstanding for the Cow Tippers as they beat the All Blacks comfortably. Justin Banks scored twice for the Tippers as Niall Murphy scored the All Blacks only goal.

Tim O Connor was brilliant for the Ex Pats as they came from behind to overcome the Net Busters 4-2. He was on the mark twice as was Eric Olin for the Pats. Paul Sexton was best for the Busters.

Thursday Division 2

A brilliant effort from Ken O Connor was enough to take all 3 points for Athletico PTF as they beat contenders the Boothouse Bingers 1-0. This defeat for the Bingers make it very hard for them now with only 3 games left and 7 points behind CPL.

A resurgent Bandits team convincingly beat a Bank of New York side that were a man short on the night. 2 long range efforts by Paddy Daughton and Dave Creedon helped clinch the points.

Novartis overcame a determined effort by the Sons of Pitches and won 6-3. Sean Stack and Ivan Murphy were central to all that went well for Novartis on the night. Pat Doyle hit a brace for the Pitches.

Thursday Division 3

Apple Exiles joined Panicakios at the top of division 3 as they hammered them 4-0. Despite a tremendous performance from Seamus O’Brien for Panicakios, the Exiles proved a bit too strong as Arjan with a brace, Phelim O’Brien and Mark Ryan were all on the scoresheet. Their game against each other scheduled on December 15^th will be a title decider.

A double from Cameron Espey helped Whitfords beat The Flying Column

4-1. Noel Hayes scored the lone Column goal.

Arthur O’Shea was brilliant between the sticks for South City as they beat JT Specials by the odd goal in a hard fought game.

MP O Sullivans Stretch Lead

Wednesday Division 3

It was another good night for leaders MP O’Sullivans as they beat the Average Joes and their closest rivals Gowlacticos were surprisingly beaten by BNY. Ger Kelleher who scored a brace was O’Sullivans top player and always looked dangerous. A beautiful volley from a corner from veteran John “Speedie” O’Donovan gave the Average Joe’s hope, but the younger legs on the O’Sullivans team made the difference as the game went on.

Declan McMahon scored the goal of the evening for BNY as he finished a beautiful one two with a volley placed in the corner. The ball never touched the ground from when McMahon started the move. The Baggios and Sub Standard Liege played out a thrilling 4-4 draw. Alan O Gorman was on the mark twice for Baggios to put them into a commanding 4-1 lead, but SSL fought back with James Meeley who also scored twice, leading the charge.

Rosies came out on top in another close encounter against Fritzl Palace by the odd goal. Veteran Paddy Cronin was excellent for Rosies and he come out of defence to score a late winner for the Carrigaline boys

Wednesday Division 2

The very influential Ian Cotter scored 4 times for Multiple Scorgasams as they completely over ran Dynamo Tonduff.

Hit or Miss also had a big win as they beat The Crew. Dan Williams and Dan McSweeney did the damage for Hit or Miss although the Crew never gave up and worked very hard until the final whistle.

Joint leaders Golden Oldies and Balaga Tonga both had wins and stay on course for a showdown that will probably be a title decider, this Wednesday at 8 o’clock. Willie Coveney was brilliant as for the Oldies they beat Boca Seniors 4-0. Tremendous finishing from Killian Hogan was a feature of their win.

Wednesday Division 1

Ed Noonan was on song for Racing as they comprehensively beat Cork Celtic. Noonan was on the mark twice and contributed to Padraig McGoverns 2 goals also. Far From Athletic stay 2 points behind Racing Club after they beat The Bons 3-1. Brian O Regan was top man for Far From as he was so solid in defence. Darragh O’Regan’s bicycle kick broke spirit of the Bons team who provided stiff opposition on the night.

Douglas Mortgage beat a six man CUH team by a comfortable scoreline although CUH held on to the ball very well with only six players for long periods in the game. Gavin Summers was on form for CUH. John Mullarky and Eoin Carroll were best for Mortgage

Thursday Division 1

The All Blacks continued their recent good form as they beat the Net Busters 2-1. Niall Murphy was again in good form for the winners and came up with the winning goal.

OS Naventages beat a dogged Ex Pats team 5-2. The game was tied at 2-2 before Paulo Santos showed his class and scored twice in the 2^nd half to win it for the Portugese boys.

Peter Kelleher scored a cracking goal for The Cow Tippers as they overcame 30 Somethings 4-2. Kevin Garde hit a brace for the Tippers. Niall Kerrigan and Graham Virgo were on the mark for the Somethings

Thursday Division 2

Game of the week was a 4-4 draw between The Bandits and the Boothouse Bingers. The Bingers lost ground on leaders Sporting CPL as the Bandits showed great spirit to come back to level in the closing minutes. The Bingers who lost Shane Cahill to injuiry were hanging on towards the end and must now make the most of their 2 games with CPL which will decide the destination of the title.

The Rovers beat Novartis 5-4 in another tight game that could have gone either way. Stephen Keane hit a brace for Rovers as did Ivan Murphy for Novartis.

Rory Walsh gave a one man show scoring 6 times for CPL as they easily dispatched Sons of Pitches.

Eoin Barrett proved unstoppable on the night for Athletico PTF as the beat BNY FC 4-2. Centre forward Barrett scored all 4 goals, his third being the pick of the bunch

Thursday Division 3

Steve Riordain scored a brilliant late winner for JT Specials as they came up with their first win of the season by beating the Flying Column 4-3 in a tremendous game. Neil Gordon scored twice for the Specials as they came from 3-2 down in the last few minutes to win. Both sides attacked at every opportunity. Late stand in goalkeeper John Ahern made some crucial saves to deny the Column late in the game.

Cormac Love scored a hatrick for Apple Exiles as they proved too strong for Whitfords, as the Exiles maintained their title challenge.

It was a five star team performance by leaders Panicakios as they proved too strong for South City. Dylan O’Brien was on song for Panicakios and also on the mark 4 times.

Multiple Scoregasisms Defeat Leaders Golden Oldies

Wednesday Division 2

Multiple Scorgasans had an excellent 4-3 win over leagues leaders Golden Oldies which puts them back into contention. This was a hard fought but sporting game as Kieran Buckley hit a brace for the Scorgasams who had Keith Kelleher in excellent form.

Hit or Miss also beat joint leaders Balaga Tonga by the same scoreline in the game of the evening where Dan Williams was in tremendous form scoring all 4 goals for Hit or Miss.

Boca Seniors recorded a comprehensive win when they beat Dynamo Tonduff 5-1. Paul Richardson with 2 superb strikes for Bocas who passed the ball better on the night.

A goal from the half way line by Arian Griffin for the Pink Panthers was the highlight in this game, but it was not enough as his side were well beaten by The Crew, who had Gary Marshall and Wayne Cambridge in goal scoring mood.

Wednesday Division 1

Far From Athletic had a comfortable 4-1 win over Douglas Mortgage. A blocked clearance from the Mortgage keeper by Darragh O’Regan that fell into the net, set them on their way to an excellent all round team performance. Racing Club maintain the 2 point gap at the top as they had a walkover over CUH as the Bons overcame Cork Celtic 6-3 in a very entertaining game. James Cooke hit a hatrick for the Bons who had Jimmy Reardon in excellent form once again. Robbie Bowen did best for Celtic.

Wednesday Division 3

League leaders MP O’Sullivans had a comprehensive win over Rosies. Jay Nixon was best for MP’s who will beat hard to stop now with only 4 games left. Gerry O’Reilly was also excellent for O’Sullivans.

Sub Standard Liege put in their best display of the season so far as they beat a stubborn Bank of New York team. This was a good all round team performance by the Liege boys but star man was James Mealy who hit 4 goals. Mark Kirby did well for the Bankers.

The Average Joes showed their battling qualities as the scored twice in the last 5 minutes to beat Fritzl Palace 2-1. Eric Montgomery who is just back after injury, with 2 excellent goals. Seamus Daly was excellent for Palace.

The Baggios put a dent in Gowlacticos title aspirations as they outplayed them and won comfortably in the end after a tight first half. Philip Sherman scored a crucial goal just after half time to put them 2-1 up. Phil Mohally was excellent for Baggios

Thursday Division 1

Well done to all teams who played in horrendous weather conditions last Thursday night.

The 30 Somethings won a hard fought game with the Net Busters by the odd goal as Barry Kennedy hit a brace for Somethings.

The All Blacks continued their good run with another big win as they beat The Ex Pats 6-2. Killian Hogan, Dan O’Connell and man of the match Niall Murphy all scored twice for the All Blacks.

The Cow Tippers and OS Naventages played a very exciting 5-5 draw. A late Justin Bank goal for the Tippers stopped OS from extending their lead at the top and now opens up this division. Steve Dwyer for Cow Tippers and Paulo who hit a hatrick for OS were both in excellent form as Peter Kelleher also scored a hatrick the Ballintemple boys.

Thursday Division 2

CPL were back to winning ways after last weeks setback as they

overcame the Bandits 6-2. This was another game that was closely contested, closer than the scoreline suggests. Fiachra O Driscoll with a hatrick for Sporting CPL being the main difference between the sides.

John Roche scored 4 times for The Rovers who are finally getting some good results after a run of good performances without getting points on the board. They beat BNY 5-3 whose best player was Phil Carey

Thursday Division 3

The Flying Column put in a typical dogged performance but came up short as league contenders Apple Exiles put is a good late 2^nd half display to win this hard fought game.

Panicakios maintain their 3 point lead over Apple, as they beat JT Specials

5-2. Gavin Chenby with a brace and Seamus O’Brien were excellent

for Panicakios.

A brillant all around display from Whitfords who played some excellent football helped them overcome the much improved South City. Jack Russell and Gavin Roser were best for Whitfords as they won 5-1

All Blacks Shock Os Navegantes

Thursday Division 1

The All Blacks surprised everyone but themselves as they beat league leaders OS Navantages, and beat them well. Philip Healy scored with a great shot early in the game to set them on their way. Dave Depuis and Rob Healy both scored hatricks and helped the All Blacks to their best team performance in a couple of seasons.

The Cow Tippers finally got off the mark as they beat the Net Busters 5-3 in a very tight game. A Steve Dwyer hatrick proved the difference as both sides produced some great football.

The 30 Somethings won by the same scoreline as they overcame the Ex Pats. A great first half hatrick by Niall Kerrigan for the Somethings pushed them into a 5-0 halftime lead. The Ex Pats showed their fighting spirit in the 2^nd half and scored 3 without reply to make the scoreline respectable.

Thursday Division 2

Boothouse Bingers who have a game in hand, closed the gap on Sporting CPL with a good win against the Rovers. Robbie Bowen was in tremendous for the Bingers and pulled all the strings in midfield. A few excellent saves from Rob Cole in the Rovers goal kept the score at 7-4.

CPL were beaten for the first time this season by an inspired Athletico PTF team. Ross O Riordain, Jan Oosterhoff and John O’Sullivan were all on the mark for PTF as they won a close game 3-2.

Ivan Murphy produced a great strike from 20 yards to inspire Novartis to a 3-1 win over the Bandits. Alan McGrath was in top form for the Novartis boys while Gary Stack was the lone Bandit scorer.

Thursday Division 3

A great performace from Whitford’s Gavin Clancy inspired them to a 5-2 over the hard work JT Specials. The Specials were tied at 2-2 but Whitfords had a bit too much class in their side with Clancy scoring twice.

A Dillion O’Brien brace helped Panicakios had a 3-2 win over and unlucky Flying Column team and remain top of the pile by 3 points over Apple Exiles. Apple had a 6-2 win over South City but it could have been more only for Arthur O’Shea in the City goal who was in brilliant form. Ronan Geary scored twice and was again excellent for the exiles.

Wednesday Division 1

Far From Athletic came through a tough encounter with CUH who put in their best performance of the season. CUH were 2 goals down but battled hard and a late Ian Weir goal had them under pressure to hang on to the win for the last few minutes. Aaron Atkinson was best for Far From.

Douglas Mortgage stayed in touch with the leaders with a 4-2 win over Cork Celtic. John Mullarky stepped up to the mark for Douglas with 2 late goals. Racing Club who remain in top spot, had a 4-1 win over the Bons. A thunderbolt shot from almost the halfway line from Racing’s Patrick McGovern was the highlight in this game but Ian Forde also scored a beautiful volley for The Bons. Edward Noonan and Rory O’Leary who scored twice were excellent for Racing.

Wednesday Division 2

Multiple Scoregasams won out in a high scoring encounter with The Crew. Stephen Moynihan was central to their victory and laid on a few goals as well as being on the mark himself. Ian Cotter hit the net 4 times for the winners and Gary Marshall and Jamie McKenzie both scored twice for the Crew. Golden Oldies eased past the Pink Panthers to remain in top spot. Balaga Tonga who are joint top had it a bit tougher to secure the points but also came through against Boca Seniors. Joe Dempsey was star man and also scored a beautiful goal late on in the game to secure the win for Balaga.

Dan Williams scored a great individual goal for Hit & Miss as they hammered Dynamo Tonduff 5-0.

Wednesday Division 3

Rosies again Baggios played a thrilling game where the more experienced Rosies came out on top by the odd goal. Kieran Hurley put Rosies ahead with a bullet like shot after 10 minutes. An og and a Martin Higgins goal extended their advantage to 3-0 by half time. But Baggios inspired by Wayne O Callaghan and Pedro Oliveros came back to 3-3 with 5 minutes still remaining. With the momentum, Baggios were pushing for the equaliser when Rosies caught them on the break and Higgins came up with the winner from close range with the last kick of the game.

Fritzl Palace beat Sub Standard Liege 6-2. Mike Wren again in great form as was Sean Stack for the winners, but the highlight was a rocket from Seamus Daly for Palace.

The 2 top teams, Gowlacticos and MP O’Sullivans played out a hard fought 1-1 draw. Bernard Curtin got man of the match for O’Sullivan as he came up with a great header late in the game to seal a point and stop Gowlacticos from moving into top spot.

A draw was a fair result as the Bank of New York and the Average Joes shared 8 goals in a very entertaining game. The Montgomery Brothers Eric and Trevor shared a brace a piece for the Joes while Declan McMahon and John Deveraux were excellent for the Bankers.

Bons Defeat CUH

Wednesday Division 1

The Bons again overcame CUH in a closely fought encounter, Ian Forde put in an outstanding display for the Bons, who led 3-1 at the break and spent much of the 2^nd half defending. CUH pushed hard for the equaliser but came up short as the Bons held on.

Padraig McGovern and Ryan Nolan were in great form for Racing and their goals helped them to a valuable 3 points and a good win over an under strength Douglas Mortgage side. Douglas enjoyed a lot of possession but lacked penetration and this suited the Racing Club’s counter attacking game.

Far From Ath kept in touch with the leaders with a 6-3 win over Cork Celtic. Aaron Atkinson and Pat O’Regan were best for Far From and both bagged hatricks. Rob Bowen and Gavin McAdam were on the mark for Celtic while David James scored and incredible goal, definitely a goal of the season contender.

Wednesday Division 2

3 early goals from Brian Murphy was the key ingredient for Hit or Miss as they beat Boca Seniors 6-3. Dan Williams was again excellent for the winners as was Dan McSweeney. Paul Richardson fought hard for Bocas.

Balaga Tonga had a hard fought 3-1 win over Dynamo Tonduff to stay joint top with the Golden Oldies who had an easy win over the Crew. Philip Cotter was central to Balaga win and put in a good shift in midfield. Killian Hogan and Eoin Cotter were best for the Oldies as they dominated the Crew in a one sided affair.

Multiple Scoregasams also won rather easily, as the beat the Pink Panthers, but the scoreline could have been worse only for and excellent performance from the Panthers keeper.

Wednesday Division 3

MP O’Sullivans secured the 3 points in a great game with the Baggios. Pedro Oliveros put the Baggios ahead with a cracking shot early on in the game. But the boys from the fruit & veg outfit fought back and worked very hard throughout the game and just about deserved their victory.

Alan Forde was excellent and scored a brace, but an OG and a sin bin for Baggios did not help their cause.

Gowlacticos showed great character coming back from 3 nil down and put an end to Rosies recent revival as they beat them 6-3. Barry Fitzgerald and Michael Keohane were best for Gowlacticos while Rosies could not maintain the pace at which they started the game.

Bank of New York held off a spirited Fritzl Palace team and won 6-4.

Declan McMahon was in tremendous form for the Bankers and scored a hatrick, while Mike Wren did likewise for Palace who had the upper hand in the 2^nd half but could not turn their possession into goals.

Thursday Division 1

The All Black and the 30 Somethings played out a cracking 3-3 draw. A fair result was the verdict here as Cillian Hogan scored twice and was excellent for the All Blacks while Colm Dooley was best for the Somethings.

OS Naventages had too much class in their side for the Net Busters who were well off the pace on the night. Emanuel put in a fantastic display for the Portuguese lads and scored 4 times. Who would be brave enough to bet against OS to win the title now?

Eoin Sheehy was in top form as and helped Ex Pats to a narrow 4-3 over the Cow tippers. A touch of class from Tim O’Connor producing the winner for the Ex Pats.

Thursday Division 2

Sporting CPL remain dominant in this division and had a 4-0 win over Novartis. Clinical finishing from Alan Jordan was the feature of this game as he helped himself to a hatrick.

Rovers who took an early lead again came up short and were beaten by the Sons of Pitches in a tight game. Barry Brosnan and John Roche battled hard for Rovers but they had no answer to the very lively Cormac Crowley who scored 3 times for the Pitches.

3 late goals from BNY made the scoreline look somewhat respectable as the

Boothouse Bingers raced into an early lead. Rob Bowen and Davis James were in good form for the Bingers.

The Bandits and Athletico PTF played out a cracking 2 all draw. Both defences were on top early on as the Bandits who were ahead twice in the hour could not hold on. A great header by Athletico’s Jan Oosterhof kept his side level at half time. Dave Creedon scored twice for the Bandits.

Thursday Division 3

The Flying Column got off to a flying start as Fabrice Fortune scored a great goal after only 30 seconds. This game turned out to be the game of the week as it went from end to end. The new hard work ethtic from the South City lads continued as they levelled the scores at 3-3. Ciaren Maguire was best for City. A fair result for both teams.

Apple Exiles had a big win over JT Specials. Ronan Geary’s goal being the game highlight as he flicked the ball over his and the defenders head and finished with a great volley to the back of the net. Liam Kileen scored both goals for Panicaikos as they beat Whitfords 2-0. A cracking first half free kick was all that divided these teams until the last minute when Whitfords conceded again. Tim Kramer was Panic’s best player.

The Average Joes game against Sub Standard Liege was cancelled due to the death of Eric and Trevor Montgomery’s father. “RIP Monty”

Far From Defeat League Leaders Racing

Wednesday Division 1

Far From Athletic opened up this division last Wednesday with an excellent performance and a good win over table toppers Racing Club. With the game evenly poised 2-2 at half time, The Far From boys ran riot in the 2^nd half with 4 unanswered goals. The pace and finishing of Pat O’Regan was too much for the Racing as O’Regan ended up with a hatrick.

Douglas Mortgage joined Racing at the top, but remain 2^nd on goal difference after a hard fought 2-0 over The Bons. John Mullarky with a fine 2^nd half strike to seal it for Douglas. Jim Walsh and Eoin Carroll were again in good form for the winners.

Cork Celtic enjoyed their first win by the narrowest of margins, over CUH.

Calvin McCarthy scored a hatrick for Celtic while a Rory Barry blockbuster kept CUH in touch. Gavin Summers was man of the match for CUH and was unlucky to be on the losing side.

Wednesday Division 2

Newcomers the Crew came off 2^nd best against Balaga Tonga who remain level at the top with Golden Oldies who had a 4-0 win over Dynamo Tonduff. The Balaga lads had a little too much class in their side with Rob Rose and Philip Sweetman very much involved and amoungst the goals.

Willie Coveney, Cillian Hogan and Eoin Cotter were on the mark in the 2^nd half for the Oldies. Dave Murphy fought hard for Tonduff who did well in the 1st half but could not hold Cotter & company in the 2^nd half.

Boca Seniors got a hammering from Multiple Scorgasams, whose best players were Ian Cotter and Kieran Buckley. Fiachra O Driscoll scored some fine goals in the 2^nd half for Bocas to make the score a bit more respectable, but the Scoregasams had taken their foot of the gas.

Dan Williams gave a fine performance for Hit or Miss who overcame the Pink Panthers 6-4 in a very entertaining game. Cian Tisdale was in excellent for the Panthers who have yet to get off the mark in the division but are certainly improving with each week.

At the half way stage, Division 2 looks like a 2 horse race between Balaga Tonga and the Golden Oldies for honours.

Wednesday Divison 3

Rosies held off the Average Joes and secured their 2^nd win in a row with a 3-2 win. Rosies seem to have a real find in their new centre forward Martin Higgins, who was again in form and scored two 2^nd half goals to secure the points for Rosies.

MP O’Sullivans remain top as they eased past Fritzl Palace. The very lively Clive Cremin with 4 well taken goals. Alan Forde ran this game form midfield for O’Sullivans.

Michael Keohane scored 2 headers and a tremendous volley to help Gowlacticos beat Sub Standard Liege. They were always in control despite the efforts of Patrick Coleman who tried hardest for Liege.

Great Rosies Comeback

Wednesday Divison 3

Best performance of the evening goes to Rosies who were 3 goals down at half time to Sub Standard Liege and looked dead and buried. But the experienced Carrigaline boys battled hard in the 2^nd half and Martin Higgins scored a great hatrick to draw level with 20 minutes still to play. This game ebbed and flowed from end to end and neither side deserved to lose, but Rosies had the momentum and scored a late winner through Mark Cunningham. James Mealey was best for Liege.

The Baggios continued their good form with a brilliant win over Fritzl Palace. Pedro Oliveros with a great drive with 2 minutes to go to win it for the Baggios who also came from behind to win 2-1.

MP O Sullivan stay top as they beat BNYM FC. The bankers were punished for a hand ball that resulted in a penalty, that was duly dispatched by the impressive Alan Forde. Clive Cremin was also in good form for O’Sullivans

Another late goal by Wojtek earned the Average Joes a deserved draw 2-2 against the Gowlacticos. Alan O Donovan led the battling Joes from midfield and was also on the scoresheet. Ray O’Brien and Michael Keohane were on the mark for Gowlacticos

Wednesday Division 2

Multiple Scorgasams played all the best football in their 6-2 win over Hit & Miss. Ian Cotter being a major contributor to their victory while Kieran Buckley scored a marvellous individual goal.

Both defences were on top as Golden Oldies and Balaga Tonga played out a 1-1 draw in a very tense top of the table clash. The Oldies deserved their late equaliser.

Boca Seniors had a good win over The Pink Panthers who are struggling to find their feet. Fiachra O’Driscoll with a hatrick was the star man for the Bocas, while Adrian and Ronan Duggan were also played well.

Wednesday Division 1

Padraig McGovern continued to be Racing Club’s top marksman as he scored a very impressive tally of 6 goals as his team beat Cork Celtic 8-3. This game was tighter than the scoreline suggests but Racing were too strong in the end with Noonan and Lake in top form.

Douglas Mortgage were 2 nil down to CUH who started with a high tempo, but could not maintain it. With the very organised Jim Walsh at the back for Douglas, they came back to win 5-3. John Mullarky also in impressive form for Douglas.

Far From Ath continued their good run of form with a comprehensive win over The Bons. Pat & Darragh O’Regan were on the mark for Far From. Aaron Atkinson was man of the match in midfield and set up 3 goals.

Thursday Division 1

The Cow Tippers left it a bit late as they came close to an amazing comeback after going 4 goals down to the 30 Somethings. Shane O’Donoghue with an early brace for the Somethings, put them in the driving seat. Steve Dwyer and Kevin Garde led the Tippers impressive 2^nd half response, but the experienced 30 Somethings held out for the 3 points.

Emanuel led the way for the OS Naventages as they beat the Ex Pats 5-3 in an excellent game. With the game tied at 3-3, the Portuguese outfit remained patient and playing some excellent football. Tim O’Connor was in fine form for Pats while Paulo was amoungst the goals for OS.

The Nets Busters continued their dramatic improvement as they had a big win over a decent All Blacks team. Niall O’Leary scored a hatrick and along with Paul and John Sexton in excellent form they had too much firepower for the All Blacks.

Thursday Division 2

Novartis also continued their winning streak with a very impressive 4-0 win over the Boothouse Bingers and closed the gap on the Bingers in the process. Eogan O’Rahilly was in tremendous form for the Novartis and scored all 4 goals. The best goal was saved until the end with a great strike from Rahilly to round off a comprehensive victory

A Rory |Walsh hatrick led the way for Sporting CPL as they beat the Bank of New York in a high scoring encounter to stretch their lead at the top of the table. Sean Tobin was excellent for the Bankers but his side were always 2nd best on the night.

The Rovers had their first win of the season with a 4-2 win over Sons of Pitches, to lift them of the bottom of the table. John Roche was in great for for the Rovers and was central to all their goals, 2 of which were finished well by Ken Leahy. Dale McVay scored a brace for the Pitches.

The Bandits beat them Athletico PTF 2-1 in a game where defences were on top. Kieran O’Brien was excellent for the Bandits, and they just about deserved their win

Thursday Division 3

South City earned another valuable win as they beat the leaders Panicaikos 4-3 in a surprise result. Stephen Healy scored a brace for City as they worked very hard for these 3 points. This result opens up this division.

The Flying Column also stayed in touch and had their biggest win in a while when they beat JT Specials. Fabrice Fortune and Martin Hurley with a brace a piece for the Column

2 late goals from Arjan earned the Apple Exiles a point who came from 4-1 down against Whitfords in a cracking game. With both teams fully committed it was a fair result. Kevin O Connell was best for Whitfords who remain in 2nd place.

Bons, Celtic Thriller Ends 5-5

Wednesday Division 1

The Bons and Cork Celtic played out a cracking 5-5 draw. The better organised Bons team did well to come back from 4-1 down to go 5-4 ahead. Jimmy Riordain was again in superb for the Bons, while Calvin McCarthy was in great form for Celtic and scored 2 great goals for a side with lots of talent, but just need to organise themselves a bit better to achieve some wins.

Racing Club were too strong for CUH and were rarely troubled by the Wilton boys who just never got going on the night and lost 4-0. Racing defender Jason Lake and midfielder Aidan O Flaherty were in excellent form while the non stop running of man of the match Ed Noonan had a big influence on the outcome of this game.

An excellent performance from the skilful Darragh O’Regan was not enough for Far From Athletic who lost out narrowly to Douglas Mortgage, who stayed in touch with the leaders with 2 Ed Quirke goals from distance.

Wednesday Division 2

Boca Seniors overcame Time to say Goodbye by 7 goals to 6 in the game of the evening. Star Man for The Bocas was Fiachra O’Driscoll who scored 4 goals. Cian McCarthy was best for TTSG, however his team never recovered from conceding a late OG, but neither side deserved to lose in this very high scoring game

The Pink Panthers came out on the wrong side of a 9 goal thriller by the odd goal and were pushing for an equaliser when their goalkeeper who had joined in the last attack in desperation for an equaliser, found the ball at his feet only to shoot just over the bar for the last kick of the game. Dave Murphy was again excellent for Tonduff and had a very influential game.

Killian Hogan and Pat McSweeney were both brilliant for the Golden Oldies as they beat Hit or Miss 6-3. Dan Williams who scored a hatrick, was also in excellent form for H&M, but needed more help from his team in front of goal.

Balaga Tonga came out on top against the Scorgasams, in another tight game, 5-4, but has their keeper Damien Kennedy to thank for a succession of brilliant saves to prevent an equaliser late in the game. Ronan Morgan who tried hardest for the Scorgasams, who were a little unlucky not to get a point.

Wednesday Division 3

Gowlacticos suffered their first defeat, as they went down 4-2 to Fritzl Palace. A brace from Daniel Gallagher helped his side to a good win, however a brilliant save from Mike Wren in the Palace goal was the turning point in the game as his side scored immediately on the break after soaking up some extreme pressure.

MP O’Sullivan now go top on goal difference after a very hard fought win over Sub Standard Liege. Liege wasted some decent 2^nd half chances and conceded a goal from Alan Forde in a goalmouth scramble to go 2-1 down with about 10 minutes left. They pressed for an equaliser but conceded again in the dying seconds to lose 3-1. Some twists and turns should yet appear in this division, perhaps the tightest division of all, with all teams capable of beating each other.

Rosies and BNYM FC got a point each in an excellent football match in a very entertaining 4 all draw. The score was 2-2 with 5 minutes to go and both teams then shared 4 goals that brought the game to a dramatic conclusion. Colin Murphy for Rosies and Kieran Fleming for the Bankers both excelled and both scored twice.

Baggios had a narrow 5-4 victory over the Average Joes. The Joes who lost a player late on to a yellow card for a foul just outside the box and the Baggios drove a nail in the Joes coffin when they scored from the resultant free kick. Alan O Gorman and Pedro were in top form for the Baggios, while Polish man, Wojtek tried hardest for the Joes who had battled hard to come back from 3-0 down.

Thursday Division 1

The Ex Pats and The All Blacks battled to a point a piece after a hard fought 2-2 draw. The Ex Pats keeper made a few great saves early in the 2^nd half after his side were one up at the break. Tim O’Connor was again the Pats goalscorer. Dave Depuis and Killian Hogan were on the mark for the Mount Oval boys.

The Net Busters narrowly beat the 30 Somethings 5-4 in another tight encounter. The more experienced 30 + were one up at the break and looking good, only to concede 5 times after the break. A smashing header by Derry Nagle being the most memorable goal of the evening for the Busters.

Thursday Division 3

Panicaikos are 2 points clear after a tremendous comeback against the Flying Column in what turned out to be the game of the night. With the Column 2 up with 5 minutes to go, they conceded an own goal and then Seamus O’Brien scored twice for Panicaikos for a 3-2.

Apple Exiles had a 5-2 win over South City and stay in 2^nd place. A great performance and a hatrick from Ronan Geary helped the Exiles to their 2^nd win in a row.

Cameron Espey showed all his experience in helping Whitfords to a closely fought 5-3 win over the JT Specials, scoring a brace of goals. Murt O Connor scored a cracking goal for the Specials.

Thursday Division 2

Novartis recorded their first win with a 3-1 victory over the Rovers. Sean Stack, Ritchie Hewitt and Tony Wall were all on the scoresheet for the Novartis lads. 3 great individual by Sean Jordan helped Sporting CPL maintain their 100% record with a fine win over Sons of Pitches. The Boothouse Bingers beat the Bandits 5-1 to stay in 2^nd place. David James excelled for the Bingers. Shay Galvin scored a beauty for the bandits for their only goal. Steve Wallace was man of the match for Athletico PTF in their win over the Bank of New York, and scored a cracker at the start of the 2^nd half. Paul Creedon scored a brace for BNY.

Thursday Division 1

30 Somethings scored some cracking early goals and came out on top rather easily against the Ex Pats who are struggling to find some consistency so far this season. Graham Virgo and Luca were on song for the winners who played some excellent football.

Known Quantities had their first win with a comprehensive win over the Net Busters. Goals by Peter Fitzmaurice, Padraig McGovern, Ryan Nolan and man of the match Ed Noonan was enough to secure the Knowns their first points.

Despite 4 gaols from Rob Healy, the All Blacks still came out 2^nd best against Os Naventages in another open game. 7-4 the scoreline. Paulo & Luis were tops for Naventages.

Wednesday Division 1

Racing Club stay top after a hard fought 4-2 win over the Bons. The highlight being a fantastic volley from Racing defender Jason Lake after he controlled a throw in and volleyed it without the ball touching the ground. Douglas Mortgage had too much fire power for Cork Celtic. Celtic had no answers to the superb finishing of both Douglas strikers, John Mullarky and Owen Cahill who both scored hatricks.

Far from Athletic stay in 2^nd place with an excellent 4-1 win over CUH. Aaron Atkinson whose elegant skills shone in the Far From midfield and he was instrumental to their victory.

Wednesday Division 2

Kieran Buckley was the star man for the Multiple Scorgasams, whose hatrick helped his team to a 7-2 win over Dynamo Tonduff. This game was a one sided affair Aaron Maguire also in good form for the Scorgasams. Balaga Tonga also had a good win and stay in contention after a 11- 6 win over the improving Pink Panthers. Philip Cotter ran the game from midfield for Balaga who also had Joe Dempsey and Philip Sweetman in top form and amongst the goals.

Golden Oldies stay top on goal difference after a comprehensive win over the Boca Seniors. Killian Hogan and man of the match John Farrell were the star men for the Oldies. The Bocas improved in the 2^nd half after a poor defensive display in the first half.

Hit & Miss overcame Time to say Goodbye 4-2 in an entertaining game. Peter Sinnott was best for H&M. whose goals came from Dan Williams and Brian Murphy who scored a brace each.

Wednesday Division 3

A suberb volley from Alan Ford for MP O’Sullivans in the opening minutes was enough to win a really tough battle with the Average Joes. Younger legs perhaps the telling factor in this encounter.

Gowlacticos maintained their 3 point lead and 100% record with another victory over the BNY. The highlight here being an excellent header from Barry Fitzgerald late in the game.

2 Brian Beale goals was not enough for the Carrigaline boys as Rosies just came up short against Fritzl Palace and found Mike Wren again in great form who scored a brilliant goal from a tight angle.

The Baggios who are now finding their feet, beat Sub Standard Liege 6-3 in a very open game. Pedro and Phil Mohally with a hatrick a piece. Pedro opened the scoring with a beautiful back heel to set the Baggios on their way to a confident performance.

Wednesday Division 1

The Bons won the battle of the hospitals when they overcame CUH by the odd goal in a high scoring affair. Jimmy Riordain & James Spiteri were excellent for the Bons while Gavin Summers tried hardest for CUH, who pressed hard for an equaliser but could not break the Bons Defence late in the game.

Cork Celtic secured their first point when they came back from 3 down Shane O Neill was instrumental for Celtic and scored 2 goals. Celtic then did well to hold Athletic to a draw having played the last 8 minutes with only 5 players.

Racing Club overcame Douglas Mortgage in a tight game, the highlight being a beautiful Ryan Nolan goal after a great run and chipped pass from Edward Noonan.

Wednesday Division 2

The 4 league division produced 4 very close games. Newcomers to Footy, The Golden Oldies brought their winning steak to 3 games as they came out on top against Multiple Scorgasams by 7 -5. Defensive errors led to a high scoring game where Owen Cotter and John Farrell capitalised and each bagged a hatrick for the Oldies, and Eoghan Buckley did likewise for the Scorgasams.

John Duggan stood out for Balaga Tonga who won a close battle that finished 4-2 against Hit or Miss. A late Dan Williams yellow card did not help the Hit or Miss cause as Balaga capitalised with 2 late goals.

Dave Murphy excelled for Dynamo Tonduff who beat Boca Seniors 2-1in a game that could have gone either way, while 2 classy Brian O Connor goals for Time to say Goodbye helped them to a 4-3 win over The Pink Panthers

Wednesday Division 3

Fritzl Palace and the Average Joes had a very tough battle that finished in a 2-2 draw. Mike Wren was MVP for the Palace, but a brillant late save by Frank Davis in the Joes Goals earned his team a point.

Gowlacticos maintained their 100% record as they beat the Baggios 4-3 to remain top. Barry Fitzgerald with a great header to win it late in the game

Sub Standard Liege stay in 2^nd place as they have a big win over BNY FC. 4 goals from the ever improving Philip Wade, while Mealy & O’Donovan were also in great form for Liege. Rosies who have yet to secure a point were again beaten 6-1 by MP O Sullivans. Mick Crowley and Clive Cremin were best for O’Sullivans

Thursday Division 1

Ex Pats were clinging to a 4-4 all draw as they came under extreme pressure from The Known Quantities in the last 10 minutes of this encounter, and then they broke clear to score a dramatic last gasp winner. Dan Mannix was star man for the Pats while a Peter Fitzmaurice hatrick was not enough for the Knowns.

Joao Paulo Pereira was in brilliant form as he marshalled his team, the OS Naventages who scored some cracking goals in a 6-3 win over the Net Busters.

The All Blacks and the 30 Somethings provided tremendous entertainment in a 4-4 draw. The 30’s Graham Virgo and Dave Depuis for the Blacks were both in excellent form.

Thursday Division 2

Bank of New York Mellon were 6-1 winners against newcomers the Rovers. A Sean Tobin 2^nd half double strike put the game beyond Rovers.

The Boothouse Bingers and Sons of Pitches played out a 4-4 draw, This game was full of excellent football that was above their division 2 status. David James was in top form for the Bingers while Steve Crowley was again on target for the Pitches and scored a late equaliser.

Novartis again came up short against Athletico PTF who had Ken O Connor in inspiring form and scored with 2 long range efforts.

A late own goal was the difference between CPL and the Bandits. CPL who top the table, winning out 3-2. A brilliant Van Basten like volley from an impossible angle by Robbie Harrington had brought the Bandits level before the late OG.

Thursday Division 3

A Seamus O Brien goal for Panicakios was enough to send them top of the table as they beat Whitfords 1-0. This victory may prove to be pivotal, as both these side are expecting to be in the shake up as the season progresses.

The Flying Column came out on top in this Barrack Street local derby, when they beat South City 5-2. The Column were made work hard for the win as South City battled hard. Two Dan McCarthy goals for the Column sealed the win.

Apple Exiles just about had the better of JT Specials in another cracking open game that ended 7-5. Despite the Specials going 3-1 up with an early double from John McCarthy, the Exiles responded in style with a double brace from Donal Geary and Mark Ryan. The pick of these goals being a tremendous volley by Geary.

Knowns defend Title

Thursday Division 1

The Known Quantities and The Thirtysomethings squared off to decide the championship on Tuesday night. Both teams had chances early in the encounter but the deadlock was broken half way through the first half when Gordon Lynch scored for The Knowns with a superb strike. The Knowns scored a second a few minutes later but Luca Gastoldi gave The Thirtys some hope when he scored a fine goal just before the break. However that hope was short lived as Gordon Lynch scored a second super long rang goal to seal the win and the title for his team. The final score was 5-4.

With the pressure off, having secured the title, The Knowns, were outstanding in their match against The All Blacks which they won 7-3. Peter O Flynn notched a hat trick for the winners.

The Athletico PTF, Thirtysomethings encounter was a thriller, during which some marvellous goals were scored. Frank Hickey was outstanding for PTF and contributed a marvellous goal for his team. However the best goal of the match was that scored by Eamon Walsh for PTF with a powerful strike from twenty yards. The final score was 5-4 in favour of Athletico.

A typically well organised Ex Pats outfit worked very hard and just about deserved their 3-2 win against an under strength Os Navegantes. New boy Eoin Sheehy played very well for The Pats and scored a brace. As usual Paulo Santos was outstanding for Navegantes.

Thursday Division 2

Kieran McGuire was outstanding for South City during their encounter with Panicyakos and scored five goals during the 5-5 draw. With ten minutes left it looked like South City were going to finish the season on a high with their first victory of the season, but two late goals for Panicyakos scuppered the celebrations.

The high light of The BNY, Whitfords encounter was the marvellous long range goal scored by Dermot Herlihy for The Whitfords. The final score was 3-1 in favour of The Whitfords.

It looked like JT Specials would finish the season on a high note when they were two goals ahead with fifteen minutes left during their clash against CPL FC. However CPL scored four unanswered goals in the closing stages to win 5-3. Davis Ward scored a hat trick for the winners.

The Chancers finished their championship winning season in fine style with a 3-0 win against Apple Exiles. However the encounter was a lot closer than the score suggest. Apple made The Chancers work very hard for the win.

Wednesday Division 3

Frank Carley of BNY scored a magnificent last minute goal from 20 meters to earn his side a 2-2 draw with The Hot Shots. Anthony Dunne and Robert O Callaghan were on the mark for The Hot Shots while man of the match, Phil Carey scored BNYs first goal.

Sons of Pitches were crowned champions after their emphatic 4-1 win against Fritzl Palace. Jerry O Reilly was outstanding for the winners and scored three fine goals. Sean Tobin scored for Fritzl.

James Mealy scored four goals for Substandard Liege during their 7-2 win against O Donovan electrical. O Donovans, who were the league leaders up to last week, will be disappointed with this performance.

Wednesday Division 1

Temple Inn Dians defeated Nualight 5-2 in an encounter during which Kevin Garde was magnificent for Temple and scored a great hat trick. However the high light of the game was the goal scored for Nualight by Aaron Maguire when he skipped past three opponents before slotting the ball calmly into the corner of the goal.

Brian Wise scored a hat trick for The Kids and was generally outstanding during his teams 4-0 win against an under strength Racing.

Leonard Murphy scored an incredible five goals for Crofton during their comprehensive victory against Novartis.

Wednesday Division 2

Aaron Atkinson and Pat O Regan scored a hat trick a piece for Far From Athletic against United to finish their season on a high, as runners up for a third successive time. Hopefully they will finally win some silverware next season.

Hit and Miss and Balaga Tonga played a thriller during which Hit and Miss recovered a 3-0 deficit to draw 3-3. Dave Sinnott was the H and M hero when he scored two second half goals. Philip Sweetnam and Philip Cotter were best for Balaga.

Joes Upset O' Donovans

Wednesday Division 3

O Donovan Electrical were top of the table by a single point entering their encounter with The Average Joes. With Joe O Sullivan inspirational in defence and Wojtek outstanding in attack The Joes looked to be cruising to a comfortable win when they took a 3-0 lead. However with 10 minuted remaining O Donovans had recovered to 3-3. Then disaster struck for O Donovans when they conceded an OG. The Joes went on to win 5-3.

The Sons of Pitches took full advantage of O Donovans loss and comprehensively defeated The Hot Shots 8-1 to move into first place. The high light of this match was the marvellous goal scored by John Fahy for The Hot Shots.

Fritzl Palace are improving with every match. This week they had a well deserved win against BNY. The high light of this encounter was the superb goal scored by Andrew McDonald of BNY.

Wednesday Division 2

The Balaga Tongo, Dynamo Tonduff affair was deadlocked at 0-0 entering the last 10 minutes. Even though Balaga had dominated possession, Tonduff were always a threat and were becoming more and more dangerous as the match progressed. However it was Philip Sweetnam who scored the all important first goal for Balaga and they went on to win 2-0.

Liam Hennessy was outstanding in goal for Far From Athletic during their 4-1 win against Mercer. Mercer created numerous chances but were denied time and time again by Hennessy. The concession of a goal after two minutes to Patrick O Regan didn’t help Mercer.

United undid some splendid early work against table toppers douglasmortgage.ie by conceding a couple of soft goals half way through the first half. Douglas took advantage and went on to win the match 5-2 and the division title.

Wednesday Division 1

Paul Tierney was the man of the match for Crofton during their match against Nualight. The score was 3-0 in favour of Crofton at the break but Nualight were much better in the second period. The final score was 3-1.

The Kids maintained their 3 point advantage when they defeated Novartis 5-0. Oilskin McGrath and Colin Hammond notched a brace a piece for The Kids.

The Racing, Temple Inn match was a super game with more than a little skill on display. However the difference between the sides was the outstanding ability to convert chances by the Racing lads.

Thursday Division 2

BNYM were only a point behind table toppers, The Chancers entering this encounter so a win for either side would have made them favourites to take the title. The match was a thriller with the lead being swapped a number of times. BNYM were leading 4-3 with 10 minutes remaining. At this point Kevin Wilmot, who has been The Chancers outstanding player all season turned on the class and scored two great goals to win the match and title for his team.

Gerry Delea scored two goals late in the first half, the second of which was a great strike from 20 yards for Apple Exiles to break the deadlock in their game against The Whitfords. The encounter opened up in the second period and Apple went on to win 5-2.

Thursday Division 1

The Known Quantities kept up their defence of their title with a powerful display against an under strenth Ex Pats Athletic. Padraig McGovern and Gordon Lynch were lethal for the winners in attack.

Niall Kerrigan opened the scoring for The Thirtysomethings from the penalty spot to springboard his team on to a 4-2 win against The All Blacks, Luca Gastoldi was outstanding for the winners and contributed two fine goals.

Wednesday Division 3

Sons of Pitches defeated Substandard Liege in a thriller 4-3 during which Tony O Donovan scored for Substandard direct from the kick off. The Sons of Pitches recovered and with Gerry O Reilly and Stephen Crowley in top form they moved to within a point of division leaders O Donovan Electrical.

Table Toppers, O Donovan Electric were defeated by Fritzl Palace 3-2 in a very entertaining match, but maintain a one point lead over their rivals Sons of pitches with two matches left. Daniel Gallagher’s and Killian Lynch’s goals put Palace 2-0 at the break. O Donovan’s didn’t concede without a fight, but in the end Palace held on for a 3-2 win.

The high light of a hard fought match between BNYM and The Average Joes was a cracking 20 yard drive by John O Donovan of The Average Joes to back of the net. The Joes won the encounter 5-2 with Vojtec getting the man of the match nod.

Thursday Division 2

The Chancers opened up a three point gap at the top of the division when they defeated Panicyakos 4-2. However, The Chancers didn’t have it all their own way. Panicyakos led early in the match when they scored two good goals through Seamus O Brien, from a free kick and Cuneyt Kahraman.

The Whitfords put a huge dent in CPL FCs title aspirations. Bertie Bateman was very impressive for The Whitfords and scored some marvellous goals for his team during their 4-1 victory. His second was a gem during which he and Cameron Espey combined superbly.

John Deveraux and Sean Tobin of BNY tormented The JT Special defence during an encounter which BNY won with plenty to spare.

South City got off to a great start in their match against Apple Exiles and raced into a 3-0 lead. However, Apple with Mark Ryan outstanding, slowly got the measure of their opponents and were ahead by half time, Apple eventually won the encounter comfortably.

Thursday Division 1

The All Blacks and The Ex Pats were deadlocked at 2-2 when The All Blacks goal keeper made a fantastic double save. The Ex Pats counter attacked from the rebound and scored the winner when Bill Henry superbly finished the move to win 3-2,

The Known Quantities continued their great run of victories with a comprehensive win against Athletico PTF. The high light of this encounter was the goal scored by Gordon Lynch from the half way line.

The Thirtysomethings had an impressive 7-4 win against an under strength Os Navegantes. Paulo Santos was again outstanding for the Portuguese lads and contributed two of his team’s scores. Graham Virgo and Luca Gastoldi scored a brace a piece for The Thirtys.

Wednesday Division 2

Far From Athletic kept the pressure on douglasmortgage.ie when they scored a very narrow win against Dynamo Tonduff. With the score tied a 1-1 in the dying minutes Tonduff hit the post from a powerful Dave Murphy strike. Aaron Atkinson scored for Far From from the ensuing counter attack to afford his team a 3-2 win.

Even though Hit and Miss were 1-0 ahead of douglasmortgage.ie at half time, they should have had a much lager lead considering their total domination. Douglas improved in the second period and the score was 1-1 entering the final ten minutes. However Hit and Miss imploded in the final minutes and lost the match 5-1.

Wednesday Division 1

Crofton employed counter attacking tactics to defeat Racing 6-2 in a match during which Racing had most of the possession. Stephen Crowley notched a hat trick for the winners while Leonard Murphy scored twice.

Call Daly was on song for Novartis during their 5-1 defeat of Nualight.

The Temple Inn fought bravely against The Kids and were ahead 4-3 early in the second half. However the class of The Kids eventually bore fruit and they went on to win 8-4.

CPL, Chancers Remain Joint Top

Thursday Division 2
Even though The Chancers dominated possession and had most of the goal scoring opportunities against CPL, their half time lead was the minimum. This was mainly due to the goal keeping exploits of Donal Flanagan. CPL increased their work rate and intensity in the second half and drew level when Donal Mulvahil scored an excellent goal. The final score was 2-2 and the teams remain dead locked at the top of the table.
The Apple Exiles, JT Specials was an excellent match which was decided by a great goal scored by Kieran Crowley for The Specials. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the JT Specials.
Colin Deevey notched a hat trick for BNYM FC against a spirited South City. Despite scoring a brace for South City Kieran McGuire was on the wrong side of a 6-3 defeat.
Panicyakos returned to winning waya when they defeated The Whitfords in a great game which was decided by a breakaway goal with five minutes remaining. Liam Kileen scored twice for the winners while Cameron Espey and Gavin Roser were on the mark for The Whitfords.

Thursday Division 1
The top of the table clash between The Thirtysomethings and The Known Quantities was an outstanding match. The Knowns edged ahead twice early in the encounter only to be hauled back almost immediately by The Thirtys. Gordon Lynch s cheeky goal direct from the kick off seemed to spur the Knowns on again and they went on to win 5-3. New comer Ben Duntan was exceptional for the Knowns.
The Ex Pats Athletic, Athletico PTF encounter was deadlocked at 0-0 until Tim O Connor scored a powerful header to give The Pats the advantage at half time. Tim scored a second mid way through the second period to secure the points for his team.
Os Navegantes defeated The All Blacks 6-4 in a very entertaining match, the result of which was in doubt until Man of the match Paulo settled the affair with his fourth goal in the dying seconds.
It looked like Navegantes would run riot when they ran into a four goal lead.. However The All Blacks got to within one of the Portuguese before Paulo scuppered the come back at the death.

Wednesday Division 1
Crofton defeated league leaders The Kids in a thrilling encounter during which the Crofton keeper was the man of the match. Three point blank saves and a brilliantly executed free kick by Paul Tierney helped Crofton to 2-0 half time lead. Even though The Kids dominated possession in the second period Crofton were the more likely team to score and when they increased their lead to three it looked like they had secured the win. However The Kids never conceded and when they scored two late goals a magnificent comeback was a huge possibility. Crofton held out for a deserved win and narrowed the gap between them and the Kids to three points.
Racing had a fine win 6-3 against an improving Nualight. The twin strike force of Padraig McGovern and Gordon Lynch were deadly for Racing and between them they scored four goals.
Temple Inn had a comprehensive win against Novartis. Rory Perry inflicted most of the damage with four goals.

Wednesday Division 2
Douglasmortgage.ie maintained their four point advantage at the top of the table after a comfortable 5-1 win against Dynamo Tonduff. The high light of this fixtures was the super individual goal scored by Ed Quirke for the winners.
Far From Athletic got off to a perfect start against Hit and Miss when Mark O Callaghan scored in the first minute. Far From played a super passing style and won the match 5-2.

Wednesday Division 3
The Average Joes were winning 2-0 against title challengers Sons of Pitches half way through the first half. However as the match progressed the quality of the Pitches soccer began to show. The Pitches had recovered the deficit with fifteen minutes to play but the battling spirit of The Joes enabled them to hold out for a draw.
O Donovan Electrical had a fine 4-1 win against The Hot Shots to stretch their lead at the top of the tabl., The high light of the match was the super volley scored by Trevor Deady for the winners.

Knowns win Top Of Table Clash

Thursday Division 1

The top of the table clash between The Knowns and Os Navegantes was a thriller during which both teams played brilliant football. Gordon Lynch edged The knowns ahead just before half time. Helio, who was the man of the match scored for The Portuguese lads with a spectacular drive to level the scores before Padraig McGovern scored the winner for The Knowns and put them in prime position before the last few matches.

The Ex Pats had the worst possible start to their encounter with the Thirtysomethings when they conceded two goals in the first four minutes. However the spectacular goal scored by Bill Henry for The Pats made their evening worthwhile. The final score was 4-1 in favor of The Thirtysomethings.

Dave Dupuis was in top for The All Blacks during their encounter with Athletico PTF and contributed four of his teams goals. Jonathan O Callaghan also notched three for The Mount Oval lads during their 7-3 win.

Thursday Division 2

CPL FC maintained their challenge for division honors with a 6-3 win against Apple exiles. John Stringer and Donal Mulvahil impressed for the winners while Mark Ryan notched a brace for Apple.

Cameron Espey maintained his excellent scoring rate when he scored a fine hat trick against South City for The Whitfords. The Whitfords won this fixture comprehensively.

Philip Carey was too hot for The Panicyakos defense during their match against BNYM. Carey scored four good goals for BNYM. Panicyakos will be disappointed with this result having fared so well in recent weeks against the top teams in the division.

Wednesday Division 3

James Mealy and James McDonald were in great form for Substandard Liege during their encounter against The Hot Shots and scored three and two goals respectively. The pick of these was the volley by James Mealy with his right having set it up with his left foot.

O Donovan Electric maintained their slender lead at the top of the table when they defeated BNY 4-3 in a thrilling contest. Damien Kingston was outstanding for the winners while Jonathan Deveraux and Frank Carley caught the eye for BNY.

Wednesday Division 2

United scored a very impressive 5-2 win against Hit And Miss who had been on a great run of wins up to this week. Finbar Harrington was very impressive and scored a brace for the winners and was the difference between the sides.

Douglas Mortgage maintained their advantage at the summit of the division with a comprehensive win against The B69ers. Albert Hobbs and Ed Quirke notch a couple a piece for Douglas.

Far From Athletic raced into a 3-0 lead in the first twelve minutes against Balaga Tongo. However The Africans fought back valiantly but the three goals that they scored was matched by another three for Far From which resulted in a 6-3 win for Far From.

Dynamo Tonduff scored a well deserved 3-2 win against Mercer who seemed to have lost their way in recent weeks. Dave Murphy and Philip Brennan were particularly effective for Tonduff in what was a great all round team performance.

Leonard Murphy and Alan Forde scored two outstanding goals for Crofton in the first half during their encounter with The Temple Inn to give their team a 2-0 half time lead. Temple played much better in the second half but couldn’t recover the deficit. The final score was a 3-1 win for Crofton.

Gordon lynch and Padraig McGovern of Racing scored four and three respectively against Novartis in a one sided affair.

Despite being on the wrong side of a 5-2 defeat Nualight were outstanding against The kids. They were orgainised and disciplined in defense and always threatened in attack. They held the kids scoreless in the first half and it was only when they began to tire in the second period that the kids found the space to exploit.

Thursday Division 1

The Ex Pats produced a type of performance that won them great glory in the recent past when they defeated Os Navegantes 5-4. The Pats hit the Portuguese lads hard and early when they scored four unanswered goals in the first fifteen minutes. As the match proceeded Navegantes clawed their way back into contention. However the passion and work rate of The Pats got them over the line for an unlikely win.

Rob Healy scored an excellent early goal for The All Blacks against The known Quantities. However his teams early momentum was undone when they conceded an own goal. Padraig McGovern scored a second half brace to seal the win for The Knowns.

The Thirtysomethings had a hard fought win against Athletico PTF to keep the pressure on their division rivals. Eoin Barrett and Ken Power were always a threat for Athletico but The Thirtys were just too strong.

Thursday Division 2

Sam Russell scored a tremendous goal in the last minute for The Whitfords against JT Specials to break the deadlock and earn his team the points. The final score was 1-0.

Cian Fleming scored two goals and was the man of the match for BNYM against CPL FC. This was the best performance in a while by BNYM who defeated the league leaders 3-1.

Panicyaikos continued their fine run of form when they defeated The Apple Exiles 1-0. Kieran McCarthy notched the only goal after 23 minutes with a well taken score.

Adam Clinton scored four goals for The Chancers during their comprehensive win against South City.

Wednesday Division 2

A much improved B69ers gave title challengers Far From Athletic a run for their money. The 69ers were in contention until the final quarter, but eventually the energy and conditioning of youth helped Far From to emerge on the right side of the 6-4 score.

Ian Ryan was the hero for Douglasmortgage.ie when he made a string of super saves to earn his side the points in a thrilling encounter with Balaga Tongo. Carl Daly and Jim Walsh netted for Douglas while Joe Dempsey responded for Balaga.

Brendan Ryan scored two marvelous goals for Mercer during their encounter with Hit and Miss. However this wasn’t enough to defeat an impressive H and M for whom Joady Sinott notched a hat trick.

Dynamo Tonduff had a hard fought, but deserved 3-1 win against United. Dave Murphy, Philip Brennan and Chris Hayes were on the mark for Tonduff while Paul Richardson replied for United.

Wednesday Division 3

It looked like Substandard Liege would annihilate Fritzl Palace when they stormed into an early four goal lead. However Palace managed to steady the ship and pulled two back before the break. Incredibly, Palace went on to win 8-7. Sean Tobin contributed 5 of the winners total.

O Donovan Electrical moved into top spot when they defeated title rivals Sons of Pitches 3-1 in a top of the table clash. The high light of this encounter was a marvelous individual goal scored by ex QEF player Danny Meade for the winners.

The Hot Shots had a comprehensive win against The Average Joes during which the high light was an amazing goal scored by Eoin O Callaghan.

Wednesday Division 1

Crofton continued their winning streak with a comprehensive win against Novartis. Paul Tierney scored three for the winners.

Despite trailing by two goals to Racing Club entering the last ten minutes, The Kids didn’t panic. They kept playing their normal fluid passing game. Incredibly, they notched three goals in this period, the last of which was scored by Oisin McGrath with the last kick of the match.

The Nualight, Temple Inn encounter was a thriller during which four outstanding goals were shared evenly by the teams. However, the best of these was the goal scored by Niall O Connor for Temple after some intriquet passing between him and Andy O Mahony.

Wednesday Division 2

The top of the table clash between Far From Athletic and douglasmortgage.ie was a thrilling encounter that resulted in a 3-3 draw. However if it wasn’t for an incredible save by Daragh O Regan for Far From in the last minute, douglasmortgage would have extended their lead at the top of the table. Even though Douglas dominated possession Far From were very dangerous on the counter attack. All in all a draw was a fair result.

Mercer won an enthralling encounter against United on a 3-2 score line to stay in the title hunt. The high light of the match was the marvelous volley scored by Thomas Morgan which was set up by a Brendan Ryan back heel.

Balaga Tongo were too strong for The B69ers in a contest in which former Ma Duleas player Philip Cotter was outstanding. Philip scored a hat trick, the best of which was a volley from about 15 meters.

Defender Noel Murphy was outstanding for Hit and Miss against Dynamo Tonduff. As well as marshaling the defense he showed the forwards how to score when he notched a brace of goals to help his team to a 4-2 win

Wednesday Division 1

Pat O Regan scored two humdingers in the first half for Racing Club to give his team a 2-1 half time lead against The Temple Inn. However the power and speed of The Ballintemple side came to the fore in the second period when they blitzed their opponents with 7 fine goals and went on to win 8-5.

Crofton stretched their recent winning streak when they had a comprehensive win against Nua Light. The high light of this match was the superb individual goal scored by Kieran Buckley during which he glided past four opponents before calmly slotting the ball past the keeper.

Brian Wise was the man of the match for the kids during their match against Novartis which they won 4-1.

Wednesday Division 3

The Hot Shots finally registered a win when they defeated Fritzl Palace 7-4. After an evenly fought first half which finish 3-3 it was the Hot Shots who dominated in the second during which Anthony Dunne scored three.

The Sons of Pitches maintained their stranglehold on the division title race when they recorded a 3-0 win against BNY FC. Alan Forde scored twice while Mick Hurley was the man of the match.

The Average Joes and Substandard Liege played a thriller which was just edged by The Joes. Wojtec scored four for the Joes. This defeat put a serious dent in Substandards Championship aspirations.

Thursday Division 1

The Thirtysomethings shot into an early 2-0 lead against The All Blacks but found themselves trailing by two entering the last quarter. However a late rally with goals by Luca and Niall Kerrigan earned The Magpies a draw.

Paulo was outstanding for Os Navegantes during their contest with Athletico PTF. The tall centre forward scored five goals to break Athleticos hearts and help his team to a comprehensive win.

The Ex Pats recovered an early two goal deficit only to concede on the stroke of half time in their match against The Known Quantities. However The Known’s dominated the second period and recorded a 5-2 win.

Thursday Division 2

Seamus O Brien earned Paniciakos a precious point in the last minute with a headed goal against league leaders FC CPL. CPL were two goals ahead with ten minutes remaining before Paniciakos staged an unlikely late comeback.

The shock of the week was the 4-3 win for The Whitfords against The Chancers. The Whitfords trailed by two goals entering the final twenty minutes however when Cameron Espey equalized and Bertie Bateman scored the winner with two minutes remaining there was no time left for The Chancers to reply.

Colin Deevey scored in the last minutes to earn BNYM a deserved 4-4 draw with Apple Exiles. This match was a thriller during which the lead was swapped a number of times. Colin Deevey and Felim Barry scored a brace a piece for their respective teams.

The South City and JT Specials encounter ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Phil O Dea was on the mark for South City while Murty scored for The Specials.

Wednesday Division 2

Game of the night was a top of the table clash between Mercer & Douglas Mortgage. The Douglas boys came out on top when they scored a very late Brendan O’Sullivan goal to seal a 4-3 win. This clash was an intense affair, but the classy skills of Adrian O’Shea in midfield for the winners was the highlight. Tom Morgan and Brendan Ryan tried hardest for Mercer.

Far From Athletic were too strong for United, but had to recover from an early two goal deficit. Wayne O Callaghan, Aaron Atkinson and Pat O’ Regan were all impressive for Far From as was Damien Morrison for United.

Hit & Miss stayed in contention in Division 2 with 6-2 win over Balaga Tonga. A brace in each half by the excellent Paul O’Leary was the difference between the sides.

The B69ers made an excellent comeback after being 5-1 down against dynamo Tonduff, only to concede a late goal while chasing the equaliser. Dave Murphy and Chris Hayes scored a brace a piece for Tonduff

Wednesday Division 1

The Kids continued their winning ways with a 7-3 victory over Temple Inn. Eoghan Murphy was again in top form for the winners and bagged a hat trick. Kids newcomer Kenny Barry scored the goal of the evening with a diving header at a crucial time just when Temple were coming into the game.

Nualight FC came back from 3-1 deficit to earn a share of the spoils with Novartis in a great game. Alan O’Sullivan scored a screamer in the last minute for the Bishopstown based outfit. Barry O Sullivan was excellent for Novartis.

F.C Crofton got back on track with a fine win over Racing Club. The excellent passing of the Crofton lads, especially Paul Tierney in midfield and the suberb finishing of Lenny Murphy was a feature of this game. Stephen Kenny stood out for Racing Club.

Wednesday Division 3

The very organised Average Joes overcame The Castlemarytrs by the odd goal. The Martyrs took a while to settle in the encounter and found them selves chasing two early goals. However they recovered well and the second half was a very close affair. The Joes won 3-2. The evergreen pair of Joe O’Sullivan and Darren Geaney were on the score sheet for the Joes.

Danny Meade was in top form for O’Donovan Electrical who had a 6-5 victory over table toppers Sub Standard Liege. This closely fought encounter was sealed with an excellent low strike by Bernard Parks with 2 minutes to go. Patrick Coleman and James Mealey were best for the Bishopstown boys who were guilty of missing some easy 2^nd half chances. This result opens up this division.

BNY FC overcame the Hotshots after trailing 2-1 at the break. The Bankers scored 6 unanswered 2^nd half goals. Jonathan Devaeaux was excellent for the victors while Finbarr O’Leary scored both goals for the Hotshots.

Thursday Division 1

Paulo Santos scored a dramatic late winner for OS Naventages who defeated The Thirtysomethings by 2-1. This was a great match with plenty of skill on display and great passing movements produced by both sides. Jake McAulliffe scored a deserved equaliser for the Thirty Somethings after they dominated possession in the 2^nd half. They were a little unlucky to concede the late winner.

Another cracking game was the Athletic PTF and Known Quantities game that resulted in a 4-4 draw. Gordon Lynch equalised for the Passage lads when he scored a stunning free kick with the last kick of the game. Chris Dennehy bagged 2 goals for PTF.

Excellent goalkeeping from goalkeeper Robert Cole saved the Ex Pats from a drubbing from the All Blacks. Dave Donnelly and Paul Richardson played some nice football for the Blacks.

Thursday Division 2

The Chancers stayed in contention with a 6-2 win over The Apple Exiles. An excellent all round team performance was topped off with David Daly scoring 4 goals.

Leaders CPL defeated a game JT Specials team who produced a fighting performance but were on the wrong end of the 5-1 scoreline.

Man of the match Liam Killeen scored twice for Panicyaikos as they beat South City. This game was close until the last ten minutes when the Barrack Street lads conceded 3 late goals.

Paul Creedon scored a spectacular volley just before half time for BNYM FCm, which helped them to a 2-0 half against Whitfords. Jack Russell and Cameron Esprey fought hard for Whitfords in the 2^nd period but finally lost out to BNY on a 3-1 scoreline.

Thirtysomethings Get Revenge

Thursday Division 1

The top of the table clash between The Known Quantities and The Thirtysomethings was a thriller. The Thirtysomethings were hoping to avenge their defeat at the hands of The Passage lads in the decider last season. The teams were deadlocked at two each entering the last five minutes. During this period both sides had good opertunities , however it was The Thirtysomethings who managed to score the decisive goal when Shane O Donoghue scored with a fine strike.

Os Navegantes continued their great run of victories with another polished performance and win against an under strength All Blacks. Paulo was superb for The Portuguese lads and scored a great hat trick.

Ricky Fleming was outstanding for Athletico PTF against a hung over Ex Pats Athletic. Ricky and Ken O Connor scored a brace a piece for the winners.

Thursday Division 2

The Whitfords, Apple Exiles match was a close and competitive affair in the first half. The score at the break was 1-0 in favour of The Whitfords. However, Cameron Espey took control of the encounter in the second period and scored five goals to ensure a comprehensive win for the Whitfords.

The David Daly, Kevin Wilmot combination was magnificent for The Chancers against BNYM. The pair scored an amazing eight goals. Phil Carey notched a brace for BNYM.

A very under strength JT Specials did very well to limit Panicyakos to six goals.

Alan Jordan scored four goals for FC CPL during their comprehensive win against South City.

Wednesday Division 2

When William Rotte scored his second goal for Balaga Tongo to equalise against Dynamo Tonduff early in the second half all of the momentum was with Balaga. However it was Chris Hayes of Tonduff who scored the next goal to help his team to a 6-2 victory.

Eoin Lawler scored for Mercer in the last minute during their encounter with Far From Athletic to snatch a 3-3 draw for The South Terrace outfit. This was an enthralling match during which the teams swapped lead a number of times and during which both sides had numerous goal opportunities.

It looked like United might upset the league leaders, douglasmortgage.ie when they came within a goal of Douglas early in the second half, having conceded an early hat trick to Brendan Spillane. However Ed Quirke scuppered their plans when he scored a late hat trick for Douglas.

Chris Irwin scored an incredible seven goals for Hit and Miss against an under strength B69ers.

Wednesday Division 3

John Arnold pulled off an amazing last minute save for BNY to deny Fritzl Palace a late winner in a great match that finished 2-2. Mike Wren was outstanding for Fritzl while Frank Carley and Anthony Fulliganati scored for BNY.

Danny Meade was outstanding for O Donovan Electric in their 3-1 against Average Joes. The high light of the match was a beautiful back heeled goal scored by Declan Dwyer for the winners.

An under strength Castlemartyres refused to concede victory to a very strong Substandard Liege. However as the second half preceded the extra player helped Substandard to dominate and they went on to win 8-4

Sons of Pitches remained undefeated when they comfortably defeated The Hot Shots.

Wednesday Division 1

In spite of a late rally by Nualight, Racing Club held on to win comfortably in a match that finished 8-5 in favour of Racing. Stephen Kenny of Racing was outstanding.

When Crofton pegged the Kids back to one goal with five minutes remaining it looked like a surprise was on the cards. However The Kids held out to win 5-4. Eoghan Murphy notched three for the winners.

Wednesday Division 3

The Sons of Pitches, Standard Liege top of the table encounter was a thriller. Both teams had the lead a number of times before Rob Ahern dramatically equalised for The Pitches with the last kick of the match. Pat Coleman was magnificent for Liege while Shane Forde scored three for The Pitches. The final score was 5-5.

The Average Joes bounced back from their bad defeat last week to win a tight contest with BNY FC. The turning point of the match was the goal scored by Terry Jones for The Joes which took a wicket deflection and left the BNY keeper stranded.

The Castlemartyres had a comfortable win against The Hot Shots. James Mellis and Dave O Riordan scored a hat trick a piece for The Martyrs.

O Donovan Electrical had to wait until the final five minutes to seal their win against Fritzl Palace. Man of the match, Declan O Dwyer put the game beyond doubt with a fine goal.

Wednesday Division 2

Far From Athletic continued their fine run of wins with a comprehensive win against Dynamo Tonduff. The high light of this match was the rocket scored by Aaron Atkinson from the half way line for the winners.

Bobby Rogers was the man of the match for The B69ers during their 3-1 win against United. He played the first half in goal and out field in the second. The high light of the match was the magnificent goal scored by Tom O Brien for the winners in the first half.

Wednesday Division 1

The Crofton, Temple Inn encounter was a thriller which was decided when man of the match, Leonard Murphy scored the winner with a beautiful back flick for Crofton. Rory Perry and Steve Dwyer were always a threat for Temple while Leonard Murphy and Brian Buckley were outstanding for Crofton. The final score was 3-2 for Crofton.

Racing Club were too strong against an under strength Novartis. Dave O Neill notched a hat trick for the winners.

The Kids put in a very polished performance against Nualight and won quite easily. Colin Hammond and Oisin McGrath were impressive for the winners.

The surprise of the week was the amazing performance of Panicyakos when they held the undefeated Chancers to a three all draw. Liam Killeen was the man of the match and scored two fine goals for the Midleton lads.

BNYM FC just edged the JT Specials in a thriller which ended 4-3. Kieran Crowley was outstanding for the Specials and contributed three goals to his teams tally but unfortunately was on the loosing team.

Defences dominated in The Whitfords, CPL encounter during which the sides were deadlocked at 0-0 at half time. Martin Gatley scored a great individual goal for CPL half way through the second period to give his team the lead which they were able to maintain until the final whistle.

Noel Kenny and Ronan Geary both scored four goals for Apple Exiles during their comprehensive win against South City. Colm Maloney and Kieran McGuire scored for South City.

Thursday Division 1

Tim O Connor was the hero for The Ex Pats when he scored the winner against The Thirtysomethings during an encounter which could have been won by either side. The final score was 3-2.

Athletico PTF pair, Jason White and Ricky Fleming combined to cause havoc in The All Blacks defence during a clash in which the duo scored eight goals. Niall Murphy scored a brace for The All Blacks.

Despite trailing to The Known Quantities at half time by two goals to one, Os Navegantes were fabulous in the second half and thoroughly deserved their 4-2 victory. Paulo was outstanding for the winners and contributed 2 goals to his sides tally.

CPL Equalise In Last Minute

Thursday Division 2

The top of the table clash between CPL and The Chancers was a thriller. It was a competition between the pace and skill of the Chancers and the strength and power of CPL. CPL deservedly drew level to earn a 3-3 draw in the last minute. Martin Gatley was outstanding for CPL while Kevin Wilmut scored two for The Chancers.

Ronan Geary was outstanding for Apple Exiles against JT Specials. As well as scoring four goals his general play was very impressive.

The South City defence was brilliant against BNYM and were desperately unlucky to concede a last minute goal to loose 3-2. Cian Flemming scored a brace for BNYM while South City goal keeper Arthur O Shea was the man of the match.

Panicyaikos were level with The Whitfords at 2-2 with twenty minutes remaining but conceded two goals in the run in to Cameron Espey and Jack Rusell to loose 4-2.

Thursday Division 1

The All Blacks, Known Quantities encounter was a match of two halves. The All Blacks were superb in the first half and thoroughly deserved their three goal lead. However they seemed to ease up in the second period. This allowed The Knowns to take control and make a deserved comeback. The Knowns won the match 4-3.

Athletico PTF were very unlucky to loose their match with The Thirtysomethings 3-2. Athletico twice lead in the encounter and with three minutes remaining conceded their third to loose by the odd goal.

With ten minutes remaining the score was 2-2 in the Ex Pats Athletic, Os Navegantes encounter. Three late goals for Navegantes including two from Pedro sealed the win for The Portugeese lads.

Wednesday Division 3

Mark Kennefick was the hero for O'Donovan Electric during a pulsating encounter with The Hot Shots when he made countless outstanding saves to deny his opponents and help his team to a 2-1 victory. Eoghan O Callaghan was the one player to breach Marks goal while Bernard Parks and Declan O Dwyer scored for O'Donovans.

Sons of Pitches continued their unbeaten run when they had a comprehensive win against The Average Joes. The high light of the game was the superb individual goal scored by Jay Nixon when he beat three players before slotting the ball in the corner.

James Mealy was on song and contributed a hat trick for Substandard Liege against BNY FC.

The Castlemartyres and Fritzl Palace played a thrilling 5-5 draw, the high light of which was an outstanding long range bullet scored by Mike Wren of Palace. Mike contributed a hat trick for the Fritzl while Colin Ahern scored a brace for The Martyres.

Wednesday Division 2

Dynamo Tonduff recovered a two goal half time deficit and to tie with douglasmortgage.ie with ten minutes remaining. However Brendan Spillane then scored two quick goals for Douglas who went on to win 5-2

Aaron Atkinson was superb for Far From Athletic against an under strength Hit and Miss team. Atkinson and Mark O Callaghan notched hat tricks for the winners.

The high light of The Mercer, B69ers encounter was thunderbolt scored by Brendan Ryan from over 20 yards for Mercer. Mercer won the game comprehensively.

The Balaga Tonga, United match was a thriller, the result of which was in doubt until the final whistle. The teams were deadlocked at 2-2 when Paul Richardson scored a great winner for United.

Wednesday Division 1

Despite a dream start when they scored two early goals, Nualight were well beaten by a resurgent Temple Inn Dians. Rory Perry was in great form for the winners and scored an amazing 7 goals.

With seven minutes remaining FC Crofton and Novartis were tied 5-5 during a great encounter. Lenny Murphy took control of the match for Crofton during the last few minutes and scored the last three goals to help his team to a 9-5 win.

Jason Lake and Gavin O Connor were outstanding in defence for Racing Club against The Kids in the top of the table encounter. With five minutes remaining it appeared that the counter attacking tactics of Racing would pay off. At this stage they were winning 1-0 thanks to a great free kick by Gavin O Connor. However The Kids didn’t panic and persisted with their total football style. They were rewarded with two goals from Eoin Murphy and Steve Mahon in the last few minutes to win 2-1.

Mercer, Tonduff Thriller Is A Draw

Wednesday Division 2

Mercer and Dynamo Tonduff served up a thriller which looked like a win for Toduff until Brendan Ryan equalised in the last minute. Philip Brennan scored a great goal for Tonduff in the first half.

With ten minutes remaining the score was 1-1 during the United, Hit and Miss encounter. Cian O Mahony and Fiachra O Driscoll took full advantage of a Hit and Miss late yellow card and scored twice in the last ten minutes to earn United a 3-1 win.

Patrick O Regan scored a hat trick and was generally outstanding for Far From Athletic during their 6-3 victory against Balaga Tongo. The high light of the match was a super goal scored by Aaron Atkinson for Far From after a great run and cross by O Regan.

Douglasmortgage.ie comprehensively defeated The B69ers in an encounter during which Adrian O Shea and Tom Mulcahy scored magnificent goals for Douglas.

Wednesday Division 3

Despite leading by three at half time, The Average Joes were lucky to escape with a 3-2 win against Fritzl Palace. Veteran John O'Donovan scored a great goal for The Joes while Noel McCarthy scored a cracker for Fritzl.

O'Donovan Electrical goal keeper Paul Kennifick was outstanding and was the man of the match during the BNY, O'Donovan Electrical encounter. Declan Dwyer and Damien Murphy scored a brace a piece for O Donovans during their 5-0 win.

Sons of Pitches had a comprehensive win against The Castlemartyres. Jerry O Reilly was outstanding for the winners and scored five goals.

Philip Wade and James Mealy scored marvellous individual goals for Substandard Liege during their win against The Hot Shots. However, the man of the match was Patrick Coleman. Substandard are the early favourites to win this division.

When Rory Perry scored two early goals for The Temple Inn against Racing Club early in the first period it looked like The Temple would build on their great win against The Kids the previous week. However when Ed Noonan moved to centre forward Racing began to dominate. The final score was 7-4 in favour of Racing.

FC Crofton finally banked three points when they defeated Nualight in a high scoring encounter. Paul Tierny, Rob Harrington, Shane Forde and Vadin Gorbets all scored twice for the winners.

The Kids returned to winning ways with a comprehensive victory over Novartis. Eoghan Murphy and Colin Hammond were superb for the winners.

Killian Deasy started the Thirtysomethings, All Blacks encounter like a man possessed. He had a hat trick under his belt after only ten minutes. The Thirtysomethings kept the momentum up and won the match 9-4. Despite being on the loosing side Niall Murphy played very well for The All Black and scored a fine hat trick.

Os Navigantes got their first win of the season when they defeated a gallant Athletico PTF 5-3. Despite conceding two early goals Athletico were back on level terms with ten minutes remaining. However two late goals scored by Pedro and Heilo sealed the points for the Portuguese.

Padraig McGovern scored a great hat trick for The Known Quantities and was the difference between the sides when The Knowns defeated The Ex Pats 7-4.

Thursday Division 2

The Whitfords, South City match was illuminated by the superb performance of Jesper Peterson of the Whitfords. He scored two great goals including a 25 yarder half volley. Arthur O Shea was outstanding in goal for South City and made numerous blocks and saves.

David Daly and Kevin Wilmot were in top form for The Chancers during their comprehensive win against JT Specials. Daly and Wilmot scored four and three goals respectively.

The BNYM, Panikiakos encounter was a very entertaining affair with little between the sides. However the experience and guile of the BNYM lads gave them the edge and the points. The final score was 3-1 in favour of the bankers.

Ex Pats, All Blacks Play Thriller

Thursday Division 1

The Ex Pats Athletic, All Black encounter was a thriller. The advantage shifted back and fourth as some outstanding goals were scored before Rob Healy saved a point for The All blacks at the death with a last minute equaliser. The high light of the match was the rocket scored by Tim O Connor for the Ex Pats to give them the lead shortly before Rob’s equaliser.

The Os Navagantes, Thirtysomethings game was also a cracking match. The Thirtysomethings eked out a win by the narrowest of margins when Colm Dooley scored very close to full time to earn a 4-3 win for The Magpies. The high light of this competition was the fabulous goal scored by Paulo for The Portuguese lads.

The Known Quantities defeated Athletic PTF 4-0 in a match that was much closer than the score line suggests. The Knowns will be strong contenders for the title again this season. Ken Hourahan has been a great addition to their squad.

Thursday Division 2

CPL FC made a super comeback against BNYM when they recovered a 3 goal half time deficit to win by four. Martin Gatley and Rory Walsh scored two a piece for the winners while Jonathan Deveraux scored a brace for BNYM.

When Cameron Espey scored two goals for The Whitfords in a minute during the first half against The JT Specials it looked like The Whitfords would record an easy win. However John McCarthy scored twice for The Specials in the second period to earn a point for The Specials, who looked very smart in their new colours.

With 10 minutes remaining during the Apple Exiles, Paniliakos encounter the teams were deadlocked at two each. However, Apple scored three more times before the final whistle to earn a 5-2 win. Ronan Geary scored a brace for the winners.

Kevin Wilmot and David Daly scored four goals each for The Chancers during their comprehensive win against south City.

Wednesday Division 1

Despite being starved of possession, Racing Club managed to defeat FC Crofton 8-4. A solid defence and a lethal counter attack were the tactics employed by the experienced Racing against the more skilful and younger Crofton.

Nualight opened their account with a fine 5-1 win against an under strength Novartis. Adrian Field was outstanding for the winners and scored a great hat trick.

The performance of the evening was produced by Temple Inn Dians who put The Kids to the sword. Rory Perry was brilliant for Temple and scored four super goals. This was the Kids first defeat in 16 matches.

Wednesday Division 2

The Mercer, Hit and Miss encounter was another thriller, the result of which was in doubt until the last five minutes when Tom Morgan scored the insurance goal for Mercer.

Patrick O Regan was outstanding for Far From Athletic in their match against The B69ers. In this encounter the youth and energy Far From defeated the experience and guile of the B69ers. Kieran McCarthy and Aaron Atkinson scored a brace a piece for the winners.

Douglasmortgage.ie looked very strong in their match against FC Balaga Tongo. The usual suspects, Ed Quirke, Jim Walsh and Albert Hobs were outstanding for the winners

Paul Richardson scored in both halves for United during their encounter with Dinamo Tonduff. Alan Mooney and Dave Courtney were on the mark for Tonduff. The final score was 2-2.

Wednesday Division 3

The Castlemartyres and BNY FC encounter was a thriller. Both teams were ahead twice before man of the match Shay O Connell scored a late equaliser for BNY to tie the match at 4-4.

Substandard Liege had a substantial win against an under strength Fritzl Palace. Patrick Horgan and James Mealyboth scored hat tricks for the winners.

Sons of Pitches were ahead against O' Donovan Electrical at half time by four goals to three. Neither team managed to score in the second period so The Pitches maintained their 100% record.

The Average Joes recovered well from their narrow defeat last week to record a substantial win against The Hot Shots. Stan Wojtek was unstoppable for The Joes and scored four goals in the first half.

Division 1 Champions Start Well

The Summer Footy Summer league started again last week with 36 teams participating. The Spring division 1 champions The Kids and The Unknown Quantities, now The Known Quantities both started their campaigns with good wins and will be difficult to dethrone this season.

Wednesday Division 2

Douglasmortgage.ie made a miraculous recovery in their encounter with Far From Athletic. Douglas were 5-1 down at half time having been completely outplayed by a sharp Far From outfit. Far From may have relaxed a little in the second half but a resurgent Douglas completely dominated in this period and went on to score six unanswered goals to win 7-5.

Hit and Miss got their division 2 campaign off to a great start with a comprehensive win over Dynamo Tonduff. The match was only thirty seconds old when Jody Sinnott scored a wonder goal with a volley direct from a throw in. Dan Williams and Chris Irwin bagged a hat trick a piece for the winners.

Colin McCarthy was the hero for Mercer when he notched two goals during their 3-2 victory over United. The high light of the match was the marvellous free kick from Fiachra O Driscoll for United and save from the Mercer keeper after which the ball trickled over the goal line.

Rory Browne scored four times for Balaga Tongo during their 4-2 win over The B69ers. Tom Barry scored early for the 69ers with a great drive from 20 yards to give The Barrack street lads an early lead but with Joe Dempsey in top form Balaga soon took control.

Wednesday Division 3

The Hot Shots and Fritzl Palace began life in footy.ie with a very entertaining match which Fritzl Palace just shaded with a 3-2 win. Conor Healy scored a magnificent free kick from 25 yard for the winners before Anthony Dunne scored an even more impressive individual goal after a great run.

BNY FC were unlucky to loose 3-2 to Sons of Pitches in a thrilling encounter. Frank Carley opened the scoring for BNY with an outstanding effort but two goals scored by Shane Forde helped The Pitches to win.

Rob Wall opened the scoring for O Donovans in the last minute of the first half to give the electricians a 1-0 half time lead against The Castlemartyres. There was only one score separating the sides with five minutes to go when Trevor Deady and Declan Dwyer both scored to seal the win for O Donovans.

A brave performance by The Average Joes against Substandard Liege with just six men left them behind by one at the end after having drawn level with ten minutes remaining. The high light of this encounter was a great goal scored by Pat Coleman for the winners.

Wednesday Division 1

The Kids began this season in the same vein as they finished the last. Despite three fine goals Vadry Gorobets for FC Crofton The kids had too much fire power and went on to win 8-6. Eoghan Murphy bagged a hatrick for the winners.

John Desmond was the man of the match for Novartis during their 4-4 draw with The temple Inn Dians. Mark O Neil scored three for Temple.

Despite a great performance by Mark Scanlon in goal for Nualight, Racing Club went on to win this encounter comprehensively. Gavin O Connor and Colin Keane both scored hat tricks for the winners.

Thursday Division 2

Apple Exiles and BNYM were very evenly matched during their encounter which ended 1-1. The high light of the match was a marvellous goal scored by Flor McCarthy for BNY to equalise after Ronan Geary had given Apple an early lead.

Both goal keepers were in top form during the JT Specials, South City match which ended in a 3-0 win for the specials. John McCarthy scored twice for the winners.

The Chancers began their campaign with a comprehensive win over The Whitfords. David Daly was in great form for the winners and scored five goals. The Chancers are the early favourites to win this division.

Rory Walsh was in great for CPL FC and scored five goals during their encounter against Paniyakos. Alan Jordan and Donal Mulvahill were also impressive for the winners. Seamus o Brien and Igoras Rogacious did well for The East Cork lads.

Thursday Division 1

The Os Navagantes and All Blacks encounter was a match of two halves. The Portuguese lads with Joao and Pedro Rodriguez playing well dominated the first and deserved to lead 3-0 at half time. The All Blacks turned on the style in the second period and scored some magnificent goals. They went on to win 5-3. Rob Healy notched a second half hat trick for the Blacks.

A man of the match performance by Anthony Doyle in goal for the Booze Crew prevented The Know Quantities from demolishing The Booze crew. Ken Hourahan and Gordon Lynch were excellent for the winners while Padraig McGovern scored three.

Athletico PTF scored three first half goals against an out of sorts Ex Pats Athletic to stat their campaign with a win. Chris Dennehy, Gary Leahy and Jan Oosterhof were on the mark for the winners.

Unknowns Triumph

The final round of the thursday leagues were played last thursday evening. The awards for the competitions were also presented.

Thursday Division 1

The Unknown Quantities deservedly won this league. They were unbeaten all season and performed very well in the top of the table clashes against The Thirtysomethings. In the past The Thirtysomethings were invincible in the important clashes. The silky skills and speed of Chen and the uncanny eye for goal of Gordon Lynch were The Unknowns main weapons. Ken Hourahan arrived late in the season to reinforce their ranks.

Pity The Fool, who were promoted at the start of the season, acquitted them selves very well, having struggled at this level in the past. The Bandits and surprisingly, The All Blacks both struggled.

Mark Murphy of The Thirtysomethings won the league MVP trophy. The other nominees, who were selected by the referees, were Tim O Connor of The Ex Pats, Fiachra O Driscoll of United and Chen. Gordon Lynch of The Unknowns won the Top Scorer Award with an amazing 30 goals.

Thursday Division 2

The Net Busters dominated this division from the very start. Playing in the second division is what these lads needed after they struggled in the first division in the previous campaign. They will be a force to be reckoned with when they return to top flight football. In Jake Smith and Alex Daly they have two top class forwards. Skipper, Damien Byrne and Graham O’ Keefe were always a steadying influence at the back. The most impressive trait of this team is their determination to enjoy their football, regardless of results. It was easier to maintain this this season.

The Bank of NY were a threat well into the second half of the season, however new comers TA Sheehan scuppered their chances of glory when defeating and tying with them with late goals.

Apple Exiles had a great first season and will compete strongly next season while BNY and The Whitfords will be pleased with how they performed.

Colin Deevey of BNY won The MVP award for the division while the other referee nominations were Cameron Espee of The Whitfords and Mark Ryan of Apple. Jake Smith of The Net Busters won The Top Scorer award.

Thursday Division 3

The division wasn’t decided until the final evening when CPL FC confronted The 49ers and needed to defeat them by at least two goals to claim the title. They came very close. They won the encounter, but by only one goal. Both CPL and Panicyaikos are new teams and will be very satisfied with their performances in this league. Both will be contenders next season. Seamus O Brien of Panicyaikos picked up The MVP award.

Kids Win Wednesday Division 1 Title

Wednesday Division 1

The Refugees needed to defeat The Kids by at least three goals to retain their crown in the top of the table clash on the final night. The Polish lads dominated the first half and with Pawel Pciak controlling the centre of the pitch they deservedly had the three goal deficit wiped out by half time. However, The Kids didn’t panic and in the second period they rediscovered their form. When they scored two early goals the wind was gone from the Refugees sails and the title was in the possession of The Kids. The final score was 4-4.

Racing and Temple played a thriller that ended 5-4 in favour of Temple. There was never more than a goal between the teams with the lead being exchanged on a number of occasions. The hero of the match was John Daly of Temple who scored a great late goal to win the encounter for Temple.

Ryan Nolan scored a hat trick and was in top form for QEF Global during their very exciting contest with Dynamo Tonduff. His first goal was a beauty. After beating two players he calmly slotted the ball over the keeper into the corner. The final score was 7-4 in favour of QEF.

Wednesday Division 2

The battle of the hospitals was won by the odd goal by CUH against The Bons on a 5-4 score line. This win also clinched the division title for The Wilton lads. The winning goal was an OG from a back pass from the half way line while the keeper was out of the goal.

Far From Athletic defeated Club Redz 7-3 to finish the season in second place. The Ballinhasig lads would have won this division if they hadn’t dropped so many points to teams they would have expected to defeat. Pat O Regan scored a great individual goal when he beat 4 players before drilling his shot into the bottom right corner.

The early leaders in this division, Douglasmortgage.com finished the league in the same vein as they started. Albert Hobbs scored three early goals from which Balaga Tonga couldn’t recover. The final score was 4-1.

Wednesday Division 3

Despite trailing by three goals at half time Hit and Miss recovered and won their encounter with The Castlemartyres 4-3. This win also sealed their status as the division champions. Darren Morgan who scored a brace for the winners was in great form and awarded MVP.

Despite defending for long periods BNYM were only one goal behind at the end of a very entertaining match with Substandard Liege. Substandard had a great finish to the season and in James Mealy have an outstanding Striker. They will be a force to reckon with next season.

The Average Joes finished the season with a great 6-0 win over Marys Ramblers. Joe O Sullivan had a huge impact on the match and was hugely missed during his long absence due to injury. Considering this was Marys first season, they did quite well and always played with lots of heart and humour.

Thursday Division 1

It took a last minute goal by Graham Virgo to rescue the points for The Thirtysomethings. When The Magpies surrendered a two goal half time lead to United with five minutes remaining all of the momentum was with Cian Kennedy’s charges. However Graham Virgo was the hero when he scored in the last minute.

The Unknown Quantities maintained their unbeaten run with a hard fought victory over The Bandits in a tie that resulted in a 3-0 win for The Unknowns. The high light of the match was an outstanding strike by Ken Hourahan from inside his own half which resulted in The Unknowns second goal.

Thursday Division 2

The Net Busters were crowned champions of the division following their 9-5 win over JT Specials. Paul Sexton was outstanding for the winners and bagged four goals.

The high light of the Whitfords, Apple Exiles encounter was a brilliant long range strike by Eamon Barry of The Whitfords to put his side two up early in the second half. When Mark Ryan pulled one back for Apple it looked like an exciting finish was on the cards. However a late goal for the Whitfords settled the tie.

Thursday Division 3

Even though CPL defeated The 49ers 4-3 and finished level on points, it was the 49ers who claimed the crown because they had defeated CPL by two goals in the previous tie between the same teams. The high light of the match was the great individual goal scored by Alan Jordan for CPL.

An outstanding late goal scored by Dave of South City earned his side a share of the spoils against a fine Panicyikos outfit. Mark McCarthy had given the East Cork lads an early lead.

Unknowns Win Top of Table Clash

Thursday Division 1

Both The Thirtysomethings and The Unknown Quantities entered this top of the table clash unbeaten and level on points, however the Unknowns had a better goal difference so The Thirtysomethings needed to win to keep their championship aspirations within their own control. It was the Magpies who had the early chances but goalkeeper Charley Quinn managed to keep the goal intact. A great individual goal by Chen for the Unknowns that gave The Passage lads the lead at half time. Colm Dooley equalised early in the second period before Michael Brennan restored the Unknowns advantage. The teams swapped very good goals in the final 10 minutes to give the Unknowns the points and a healthy advantage heading into the last couple of rounds.

The high light of The Bandits, United encounter was the terrific individual goal scored by Malcolm Harte for the Bandits. When John Haugh of United reduced the deficit to one it looked like United might reign The Bandits in, but it was the Bandits who took the initiative and went on to win 3-1.

The Ex Pats laid siege on The Booze crew goal for the last ten minutes of this very entertaining encounter. However the couldn’t breach the Navy lads goal and The booze Crew eventually won 3-1.

The most unlucky player of the evening was Eoin Barrett of Pity The Fool who hit the post four times during his teams match against The All Blacks. The All Blacks won the game 4-1.

Thursday Division 2

This Flying Column, Whitfords tie was dominated by the outstanding hat trick scored by Cameron Espey of the Whitfords. His finishing was the difference between the teams in a match which The Whitfords won 6-2.

At 3-1 down, The JT Specials were extremely unlucky when they hit the post on three occasions. BNY took full advantage and they went on to win 5-1. The high light was the great individual goal scored by Stjohn Dennehy for BNY, his first in 25 matches.

John Fahy scored an outstanding hat trick including a spectacular volley for TA Sheehans when the defeated league leaders The Net Busters 7-4 in a very enjoyable encounter. Damien Byrne bagged two for The Busters.

Wednesday Division 1

Counter attacking tactics saved the day for Dynamo Tonduff against Match.com in an encounter that ended 4-4. Despite dominating possession and possessing better technique, Match.com were always under threat from the Tonduff counter attack. Mick Ring was outstanding and a constant threat for the FORFAS lads.

The very polished Refugees were too strong for an under strength Temple Inn in a match that ended 7-3 in favour of the Poles. Rory Perry and Andy O Mahony defended valiantly for the Ballintemple lads but Robert Kriegal and company were always in control.

Wednesday Division 2

After loosing their grip on the title race last week, CUH got their campaign back on track with a comprehensive win over Sons of Pitches. Ivan Weir and Cathal O Sullivan were brilliant for the winners.

It looked like Far From Athletic were going to add the douglasmortgage.ie scalp to their collection when they were leading 5-2 with 15 minutes to go. However the Douglas lads launched a very impressive comeback and tied the encounter 5-5.

Club Redz fought their way back to all square at 3-3 after conceding three early goals to Balaga Tonga. However it was Balaga who finished the stronger side and went on to win 6-3. Eoghan Kennedy was outstanding for the winners while Terry Yelverston was always a threat for The Redz.

Dave Spiteri was inspirational for The Bons against Rosies in a contest that The College Road outfit won quite easily. James Cooke and Jim Reardon notched a brace a piece for the winners while Kieran Hurley scored for Rosies.

Wednesday Division 3

The high light of the Substandard Liege, Castlemartyres match was the superb display of Alan Mealy. Padraig O Riordan and Mick Ring were tried hardest for the Martyrs.

The Boca Seniors stunned Marys Ramblers with three early goals, from which the Ramblers never recovered. Philip Blackwell and Aidan Ryan bagged a hat trick a piece for the Midleton lads while Mick Bohane scored four for Marys.

After an evenly contested first half, the score was 2-2 between Barstoolona and The Average Joes. However superior finishing in the second period enabled The Average Joes to take the points and win 6-2.

Kevin Murphy was in great form for BNYM against Hit and Miss and his two early goals had the league leaders worried. However a hat trick by Darren Morgan scuppered any chances of a shock and Hit and Miss went on to win 5-2

Great Win For JT Specials

Thursday Division 2

It looked like The Flying Column would emerge from their encounter with JT Specials with the points when Conor O Mahony got The Barrack Street lads back on level terms with a super strike after conceding two early goals. However, it was JT who took the initiative in the second half and went on to win 3-2.

After a very evenly fought first half, Apple Exiles pulled away from TA Sheehans in the second half. The 6-1 score was a little flattering to The Holly Hill men in spite of an outstanding performance by Mark Long who scored four goals.

The Net Busters moved a step closer to their first Footy.ie title after defeating Bank of NY 4-2. Jake Smith and Graham O Keefe were outstanding for the Cobh men.

The high light of the BNY, Whitfords clash was the outstanding 20 yard volley scored by Frank Carley for BNY. The score would have been a lot closer than 5-1 if The Whitfords converted a small number of their numerous chances.

Thursday Division 1

Ken Hourahan scored a hat trick was in great form for The Unknowns during their match against The Ex Pats which they won 9-4. Chen and Gordon Lynch also impressed for The Passage lads. Paddy O Donnell bagged a brace for The Pats.

When Niall Murphy put The All Black two up against United early in the first half it looked like The All Blacks had rediscovered the form that has deserted them this season. However Cian Kennedy narrowed the deficit with a great strike which inspired the lads in green to a 6-2 win.

The Bandits pulled off the best comeback of the season when they retrieved a 3-0 half time deficit to tie with Pity The Fool 3-3. Pity dominated the first half in which Kieran Hederington scored two fine goals. The hero was Malcolm Harte of The Bandits who scored a last minute equaliser.

The high light of Thirtysomethings 5-1 defeat of The Booze Crew was the marvellous goal scored by Jake McAuliffe. The result leaves Thirtysomethings and Unknown Quantities neck and neck entering the straight.

Thursday Division 3

Rory Walsh and Damien Cotter were in top for CPL during their encounter with South City. Danny Mullaley did very well for South City and bagged a hat trick.

Panikiakos were unlucky not to defeat the previously undefeated 49ers. Having come from behind on two occasions they finished the stronger team. Luke Hennessy scored a wonder goal for the 49ers.

Wednesday Division 2

The surprise of the evening was the comprehensive defeat of league leaders CUH at the hands of Far From Athletic. Pat O Regans excellent goal was all that separated the teams at half time. However Far From scored twice early in the second half to put the tie beyond CUH. The final score was 5-1.

The Bons were outstanding, especially in the first half during their encounter with Club Redz. Club Redz, who were missing some of their regulars were subjected to high energy pressing tactics from the College Road lads. The Bons went on to win 7-2

Balaga Tongas new signing Joe Dempsey was very impressive and scored two fine goals during Balaga 4-1 win against Rosies. John Grey notched Rosies solitary goal.

Wednesday Division 3

Dan Williams scored a hat trick and was generally outstanding for Hit and Miss during their demolition of Barstoolona. Others to impress for the winners was Darren Morgan and Steve Sinnott.

The two goals scored by James Mealy for Substandard Liege against Marys Ramblers in the first five minutes set the tone for this one sided encounter. Mealy went on to bag six. However the high light of the game was the wonderful goal scored by David Maloney for The Ramblers.

The Average Joes maintained the pressure on Hit and Miss with a fine 5-3 win over BNYM. The Joes were always in control and scored some top class goals. BNYM never stopped trying and were only two behind in the end.

Aidan Ryan was the hero for Boca Seniors when he scored five goals against The Castlemartyres during their 7-4 victory. Niall Walsh scored a brace for The Martyrs.

Wednesday Division 1

QEF did better against The Kids than the 7-2 score line suggests. Colin Hammond and Eoin Murphy scored a hat trick a piece for the Kids while Fergal Lynch and Rory O Leary were on the mark for QEF.

An under strength Refugees defeated a spirited Dynamo Tonduff 6-3 in a very entertaining and sporting match. Robert Kriegal was his usual lethal self and scored four fine goals for the winners

Balaga Unlucky Not To Draw

Wednesday Division 2

CUH were very fortunate to emerge from their encounter with Balaga Tonga with three points. Trailing 4-5, Balaga bombarded the CUH goal for the final 10 minutes but just couldn’t score an equaliser. Rory Browne and Eoghan Kennedy scored a brace a piece for Balaga while Ivan Weir and Rory Barry responded with braces for CUH.

In the battle between experience and youth involving Rosies and Far From Athletic, it was the industry and energy of youth that won the day. The encounter was a lot closer than the 7-2 score suggests.

When Club Redz reduced the deficit to one having been behind by three, it looked like they might go on to win their competition with Sons of Pitches. However The Pitches managed to change the momentum and went on to win 7-4

Dave Spiteri and Jimmy Reardon were outstanding for The Bons against douglasmortgage.ie. After a great first half of the season Douglas are struggling at the moment, and were never in contention against a skilful Bons who deserved their 6-2 win.

Wednesday Division 1

Man of the match, Steve Dwyer scored a great hat trick for Temple Inn Tigers against QEF in a very entertaining match. Dave Johnson and Rory Perry were also on the mark for the Ballintemple lads while Ryan Nolan and Maurice Henderson were impressive for QEF.

It looked like a surprise was on the cards when Niall Buckley scored a great goal for Dynamo Tonduff against Racing after 30 seconds. However this encounter was the Chen Show. The Chinese lad put on a top class performance and even though Tonduff got back on even terms before half time, they had no answer to Chens speed and skill. He scored 4 goals for Racing, who went on to win 5-2.

Wednesday Division 3

James Mealy was immense for Substandard Liege during their encounter with Barstoolona. Even though Substandard were short a player in the first half they were ahead at half time. When their seventh player arrived they totally dominated.

Aidan Ryan was the hero for The Boca Seniors against BNYM FC when he scored a last minute winner. The teams were deadlocked at 2-2 after a great contest when Ryan poached the winner to leave the unlucky BNYM devastated.

The Castlemartyres overcame a very strong Average Joes to secure their most impressive scalp yet. Alistair Murphy was outstanding for the winners and bagged a fine hat trick. Erik Montgomery and Joe O’Sullivan stood out for The Joes.

Thursday Division 1

The All Blacks were brought back down to earth when they were defeated convincingly by a very strong Unknown Quantities outfit. The Unknowns are undefeated and are growing in confidence every week.

The Thirtysomethings, who are also undefeated put in another strong performance but had to work very hard to defeat a resilient Pity The Fool 3-0. It took three outstanding goals from Niall Kerrigan, Jake McAuliffe and Mark Murphy to breach the Pity defence.

The Booze Crew returned to winning ways with a hard earned win against The Bandits. Dave Walsh was outstanding for The Sailors while their goals were scored by Brian Stapleton, Anthony Doyle and Damien O Leary.

The Ex Pats rediscovered some form this week when they defeated United 3-1. The high light of this fixture was the comical goal conceded by the Pats keeper (Sorry Rob). It was lucky for him that they had a two goal cushion at the time.

Thursday Division 2

The Net Busters were outstanding again this week and were never in any danger during their encounter with The Whitfords. However, The Cobh lads didn’t have it all their own way. The Whitfords competed well in the second half and scored two fine goals, one of which was a great strike by their prolific striker Cameron Espee.

The battle of New York was won by Bank of NY 4-3 as they completed the double over their work colleagues at BNY Mellon. The teams were deadlocked at 2-2 at half time. However the winners scored two crucial goals early in the second half by Sean Tobin and Ricky Fleming to seal the win.

The encounter between TA Sheehan and The Flying Column was a very scrappy affair in the first half during which Noel Hayes scored for The Column. TA Sheehans improved in the second half but were denied by some top class saves by Brendan Cotter. Alan Mullery scored a great second for The Column close to full time to ensure the win.

It looked like JT Specials would get at least a point from their game against Apple Exiles when they came from two down to all square with ten minutes left. However two late goals by Apple scuppered any JT celebrations.

Thursday Division 3

The CPL FC and Panikyakos match was a ding dong affair with first one team going ahead, only for the other to equalise and go ahead. The 3-3 score was a fair result as neither team deserved to loose.

The 49ers maintained their 100% record with a fine 6-3 win against South City. The high light of the match was the outstanding strike from a free for the 49ers by Martin Murphy. Barry Keane also scored a fine goal for south City.

Unknown Keeper Is Hero

Goal Keeper Charley Quinn was the hero for The Unknown Quantities who were very lucky to survive an incredible Booze Crew comeback. Leading 5-1, well into the second half the Unknowns took their foot off of the gas and would have paid the ultimate price if Charlie Quinn hadn’t made a string of top notch saves including a penalty save when the score was 5-4. This save seemed to inspire his team mates and they went on to win 7-4.

The All Blacks finally played to their potential during their 4-1 win against The Bandits. Man of the match Philip Healy was outstanding for the Mount Oval lads and scored a fine goal.

Pity The Fool got back on track this week with a good 4-0 win over an under strength United. Despite having only six players, United were still in the match at half time as the score was 1-0. However the gaps began to appear late in the match as United tired and Pity were able to capitalise.

The Thirtysomething stunned The Ex Pats with three very early goals. This enabled them to defend in numbers and employ counter attacking tactics which they used to great effect. Mark murphy and Jake McAuliffe were immense for the men in Black and White.

Thursday Division 2

A hat trick scored by Colin Deevy of BNY FC against The Flying Column was the difference between the sides in a match that was all square at 2-2 at half time. Noel Hayes and |Dan McCarthy were on the score sheet for the Column in the first half but Paul Kearney didn’t concede for BNY in the second.

The encounter of the evening was the thriller between Bank of NY and TA Sheehans. It looked like Bank of NY would saunter to an easy win when they scored two early goals but a brace a piece for Jack Sheehan and Darren Ronan for Sheehans shifted the momentum in favour of the accountants. However a late couple of goals by Sean Tobin saved the day for Bank of NY and tied the match at 4-4.

JT Specials were very unlucky to leave empty handed when they lost 3-2 to The Whitfords. A late goal from Gavin Roser gave the Whitfords the win.

The Net Busters defeated Apple Exiles 3-2 to maintain their five point lead at the top of the division. Damien Byrne, John Sexten and Jake Smith were the scorers for the Busters while Mark Kirwin and Val Sexton were on the score sheet for Apple.

Thursday Division 3

Colin Irwin and Robert Cole were immense for The 49ers during their 4-2 over CPL FC. Irwin and Dave Johnson scored a pair each for the winners while former Dragons Rory Walsh and Alan Jordan were on the mark for CPL.

Panicyaikos finally got off of the mark with a single goal win over South City. Man of the match, Kieran McCarthy scored a couple for the winners but it was Seamus O Brien who was the hero when he scored a last minute winner. Mark McGuire and Dave Domican scored for South City.

Wednesday Division 2

Far From Athletic made up some ground on the leaders when their star player, Wayne O Callaghan notched a last minute winner against Sons of Pitches. It looked like The Pitches had earned a tie when Jay Nixon equalised with time running out but O Callaghan’s third goal gave Far From a 3-2 win.

Douglasmortgage.ie were denied a dramatic win against league leaders CUH by a late Sean Sheehan equaliser. Even though CUH dominated possession, Douglas were ahead with minutes remaining but Sheehans late strike scuppered the Douglas celebrations.

A great hat trick by Eoghan Kennedy was the difference between the sides during the Bons, Balaga Tonga clash. The score was 2-2 at half time, but two early second half goals gave Balaga the cushion they needed to take the points. Jimmy Reardon and Dave Spiteri were very good for the Bons.

Barry Greaney was excellent in a well marshalled and disciplined defensive unit for Club Redz during their encounter with Rosies. However, Kieran Hurly managed to breach the defence on two occasions but ended up on the wrong side of the 3-2 score.

Wednesday Division 1

QEF set the tone for the rest of the match when Ray Keating scored in the first minute against Racing Club. The high light of the encounter was an outstanding headed goal by Ryan Nolan of QEF during their 6-1 win.

Newcomer Rory Perry made an immediate impact for Temple Inn Tigers when he scored 4 four goals in the first 20 minutes during their clash with Dynamo Tonduff. Joe Harte and Sean O Connell tried hard for Tonduff.

It looked like The Refugees would have a serious challenge on their hands when Colin Keane scored a superb opener for Match.com. However, it wasn’t long until Robert Kriegal and company steadied the ship and went on to win convincingly.

Wednesday Division 3

The match of the evening was the top of the table encounter between Hit and Miss and The Average Joes. It was a match of contrasting styles, Hit and Miss being a more fluid attacking outfit while The Average Joes are a defensive counter attacking team. It was a great game and a 2-2 draw was a fair result. Joe O Sullivan and Erik Montgomery were outstanding for The Average Joes while Peter Sinnott and Dan McSweeney were excellent for Hit and Miss.

Justice was done when James Mealy scored with the last kick of the match after being denied three times previously by the goal posts. Pat Coleman stole the show by scoring four during the 6-2 victory for Substandard Liege over Boca Seniors.

Sean Cronin was a commanding figure at the back for The Castlemartyres during their 6-2 win against Marys Ramblers. Luke McKeon bagged a brace for The Martyrs while Dave Maloney and Adrian Hickey were on the mark for Marys.

Frank Carley was the hero for BNYM when he saved a penalty with four minutes left against Barstoolona to tie the match 2-2. William Punch and Paul O Leary scored for Barstool while Paul Creedon and Shay O Connell were on the mark for BNYM.

Bandits Robbed

Thursday Division 1

The match of the evening was a thriller between Bandits United and Ex Pats Athletic. The Bandits, who are under performing this season had a terrible start and conceded three goals in the first 15 minutes. It looked like a white wash was on the cards. However by half time the lads from North Kerry were back on level terms. The teams were still dead locked with minutes left when Joe Sweeney scored a well taken goal and stole the points for the Pats. Ciaran O Brian was outstanding for The Bandits and contributed three goals.

It looked like The All Blacks were going to record their first win of the season against The Thirtysomethings, who haven’t lost yet this season when they were ahead with 5 minutes remaining. However two late well taken goals by Graham Virgo and Jake McAuliffe scuppered any chances of a shock result and kept The Magpies joint top of the division.

The Booze Crew had an emphatic 6-0 against United. The first half was evenly fought, but four goals early in the second half secured the points for the lads from The Navy. Ian Stapleton was in great form and scored four for the Crew.

The Unknowns are improving with every match and are now hot favourites to win this division. They had another convincing win this week against Pity The Fool. Gordon Lynch continued his goal fest and notched four this week to bring his total for the season to 21.

Thursday Division 2

BNY came from behind to twice and were all square with Apple Exiles with ten minutes to go. However Cormac Long broke the Bankers hearts when he scored the winner for Apple with a fine goal during a magnificent encounter which neither team deserved to loose.

Despite dominating the possession, The Whitfords had to come from behind to draw with a determined TA Sheehans team. Chris Foley and Darren Ronan scored three great goals for Sheehans from their only real chances in the match before Jesper Peterson scored the late equaliser.

The Net Busters had too much power and youth in their ranks to be troubled by The Flying Column. Alex Daly and Jake Smith tormented the Barrack Street lads throughout.

Sean Tobin was again in outstanding form for Bank of NY. He scored three very early goals and put the result of their encounter against JT Specials beyond before The Specials realised what hit them.

Thursday Division 3

Panicyaikos and The 49ers played a very sporting and enjoyable match that was won by the 49ers 8-4. The goal of the match was scored by MVP, Colin Irwin early in the game.

CPL FC were a little too strong for South City in a match, the result of which was never in doubt. Alan Jordan and Rory Walsh scored a hat trick a piece for CPL.

Wednesday Division 2

An under strength douglasmortgage.ie lost further ground this week when they were defeated by a rejuvenated Rosies. Despite trailing 0-2 early in the match, Rosies deserved to win 4-2. Anton Bercy was outstanding for The Carrigaline men and scored a fine hat trick.

Far From Athletic continued their assault with a hard fought win against a dogged Bons team. It looked like the Bons might take the honours when they recovered an early two goal deficit. However, Far From were able to reverse the momentum and eventually won 4-2. The high light was a spectacular volley scored by Dave Kelleher for the Bons.

Joe Dempsey was immense for Balaga during their 5-2 win against Sons of Pitches. The goal of the match was scored by Eoghan Kennedy for Balaga and set up by Joe Dempsey.

CUH moved three points clear at the top of the division following a comprehensive win against Club Redz. Ivan Weir continues to score freely for the Wilton lads and bagged four this week. Sean Sheehan and Cathal Sullivan notched a brace each for CUH.

Wednesday Division 1

Padraig McGovern was in great form for Racing Club and scored an impressive five goals during their comprehensive win against Match.com. Pat O Connell and Brian Atkinson scored two a piece for Match.com.

Marcan Korona was outstanding between the sticks for The Refugees during their match against QEF Global. Robert Kriegak bagged four for the Poles while Ryan Nolan and Ray Keating notched a brace each for QEF.

The Kids defeated a gallant Dynamo Tonduff to maintain their hundred per cent record. Colin Hammond and Brian Wise were in a different class for the Kids and scored bags of goals.

Temple Inn were very impressive against O Donovan Electrical. Man of the match, Tim Connolly was outstanding and frustrated O Donovans with marvellous saves throughout. Kevin Garda and David Johnson both scored hat tricks for Temple.

Wednesday Division 3

The Hit and Miss and Boca Seniors encounter was a testy by fair match that kept the Ref on his toes through out. However Boca Seniors couldn’t defend Dan Williams who was outstanding and scored a hat trick for Hit and Miss.

When Luke McKeon scored a spectacular goal late in the second half it appeared that The Castlematyres were about to win for the second time this season. However their celebrations were scuppered when Garry Cronin equalised for Barstoolona with two minutes remaining. The final score was 3-3.

An under strength Marys Ramblers defended bravely against BNYM FC and were on level terms at half time. The pressure from BNYM finally paid dividends and the Airport Business Park lads eventually won 6-1.

An outstanding chest and volleyed goal scored by Trevor Montgomery was the high light of the Average Joes, Substandard Liege encounter which was won comfortably by the Joes.

Substandard Defeat League Leaders

Wednesday Division 3

The surprise of the evening was the 9-4 win Substandard Liege had over league leaders and previously undefeated Hit and Miss. This result blows this division wide open. James Mealy and Tony O Donovan were outstanding for the winners and contributed 7 goals between them.

The Boca Seniors and Average Joes encounter was a hard fought but sporting match, the result of which was in doubt up until the 55^th minute. However, two very late goals by Erik Montgomery and Wostech sealed the win for The Joes. Erik Montgomery, once again was outstanding and scored three goals.

BNYM FC were forced to rue a host of missed opportunities during their encounter against The Castlemartyres when the latter scored a late equaliser against the run of play. Despite BNYM having most of the possession, The Castlemartyres defended valiantly and grabbed their opportunity when Simon McKeon equalised.

Barstoolona have rediscovered their early season form and appear to be scoring for fun at the moment. They had a comfortable win again this week against Marys Ramblers. Garry Cronin and Keith Cotter scored three and two respectively for the winners.

Wednesday Division 2

The prolific Ivan Weir scored a late winner for CUH against a gallant Rosies to propel his side to the top of the division. Despite taking an early lead when man of the match Mark Foley scored after four minutes, CUH found themselves on level terms approaching the final whistle after Paddy Cronin scored a magnificent goal for Rosies. However Weirs winner scuppered any chances of an upset.

Club Redz defied their low league position and defeated the joint leaders douglasmortgage.ie 2-1. The experienced Club Redz easily coped with the long ball tactics employed by Douglas and deserved their win. Deckie Ahern and Terry Yelverston scored the Redz goals while Graham Hyde responded for Douglas.

Sons of Pitches were denied their second win of the season by a great Bons equaliser in the last minute. Ian Forde and Emil Mucha combined neatly before Ian gave the SOPs keeper no chance with a well struck shot.

Despite falling behind to an early Balaga Tonga goal, Far From Athletic had little difficulty in securing three points. Pat O Regan put in a man of the match performance for Far From and contributed three goals.

Wednesday Division 1

Match.com had their first win of the season against a below strength QEF Global in a lively, competitive match that resulted in a 3-2 win for the East Cork lads. Man of the match, Brian Atkinson scored a brace for the winners.

The sides were dead locked at 3-3 with fifteen minutes remaining during the Racing and Refugees encounter. However The Refugees, who dominated possession, eventually wore the gallant Racing down and scored two late goals for a deserved victory.

League leaders, The Kids put in a superb performance to defeat a stubborn Temple Inn outfit by 5 goals to one. Their was only two goals separating the sides with five minutes remaining but two late goals by John Duggan and Michael Doody ensured victory for the men in black.

Wednesday Division 2

Douglasmortgage.ie seemed to be cruising to an easy win against FC Balaga Tonga. They lead 4-0 at half time. However three fast goals early in the second period for Tonga ensured an exciting final twenty minutes. Jim Walsh sealed the win for douglasmortgage.ie when he scored his third with 5 minutes remaining.

Two hospital teams, CUH and The Bons conjured up a thriller that ended in victory for CUH. The score was tied at 2-2 with about five minutes left when Cathal O Sullivan scored a marvellous goal to seal the win for CUH and keep them joint top of the table.

Even though the clash between Rosies and Sons of Pitches ended in a comfortable victory for Rosies, the real story was the performances of two players, Jerry O Reilly of The Pitches and Antoine Bercy of Rosies. Both players illuminated the match with sparkling performances.

The Club Redz and Far From Athletic encounter was an enthralling affair which ended in a 2-2 draw. Deccie Ahern equalised with his second goal of the evening for Club Redz at the death. A draw was a fair result.

Wednesday Division 3

Mick Dowd scored twice in the first half to give BNYM an early lead against Substandard Liege. However Tony O Donovan’s cracking goal just after half time inspired Substandard and they went on to win 6-2.

Dan McSweeney and Darren Morgan were in top form for Hit and Miss during their match against The Castlemartyres, scoring four and three goals respectively. Jim Mellis and Brian O Connell responded for The Martyrs.

Goal Keeper Jerry Coleman made some great saves and was generally outstanding for Marys Ramblers during their contest with The Average Joes. Meanwhile Adrian O Donoghue scored twice for the Ramblers while Wojtek scored a rocket from the half way line for The Joes.

Two excellent goals from Paul O Leary helped Barstoolona to their most impressive win of the season when they defeated Boca Seniors 7-3. Ian O Connor and William Punch were also on the score card for the winners.

Wednesday Division 1

The Refugees were defeated for the first time in two seasons by The Kids in a very entertaining and feisty top of the table clash. The Refugees were 2-1 ahead late in the first half , but the concession of two great goals in quick succession knocked them out of their stride. The Kids went on to win 5-2.

Kevin Garde scored a brace and put in an outstanding all around performance for Temple Inn when they easily defeated Racing 5-2. However the goal of the match was an outstanding goal scored by Luke Hennessy and set up by Chen for Racing.

Despite being held at 2-2 at half time, QEF dominated the second half as they defeated a sporting Dynamo Tonduff. Danny Meade scored a magnificent hat trick for the winners.

Thursday Division 2

John Fahy notched three points for TA Sheehan when he scored a last minute winner against BNY United. As the final whistle approached, the momentum was with BNY as they had brought the tie back to 3-3 from 3-1. The Fahy winner, which was scored against the run of play, was greeted by great scenes of joy by the lads from TA Sheehan.

The Net Busters maintained their grip on this division with a convincing win over JT Specials. Jake Smith was in top form for the winners and scored a fine hat trick.

Ronan O Neill and Sean Tobin scored two goals a piece for Bank of NY during their 4-2 victory over The Flying Column. However, the goal of the match was scored by Dan McCarthy for the Column when he ghosted between a defender and the keeper for a great headed goal.

Cormac Long of The Apple Exiles scored two late goals to break The Whitfords hearts and win a hard fought encounter by two goals to one. Gavin Roser had given The Whitfords an early lead.

Thursday Division 1

The Unknowns remain undefeated at the top of the division after a hard earned 6-2 win over The Bandits. It looked like an upset was on the cards when Shane Comerford and Louis Docherty scored two early goals for the Bandits but The Unknowns put in a great second half effort and won easily in the end.

Stephen Lynch was in top form between the sticks for The Booze Crew, making a host of spectacular saves, during their encounter against the All Blacks. His performance inspired the Navy lads against an out of luck All Blacks. The Crew won 2-1.

Tim O Connor put The Ex Pats ahead twice but they were pegged back on both occasions by a resilient Pity The Fool. The talking point of the match was the goal scored by The Pity keeper direct from a throw.

United and Thirtysomethings were all square at half time after Jake McAuliffe and Fiachra O Driscoll swapped scores. The Thirtsomethings upped their performance in the second period and eventually won the encounter 6-3.

Thursday Division 3

Rory Walsh scored a hat trick was the man of the match for CPL FC as they opened their account with a 6-2 win over Panikyaikos. Seamus O Brien scored a brace for the East Cork men.

Robert Cole was outstanding in goal for The 49ers as they easily overcame South City. Mick Ryan bagged a hat trick for the winners.

Unknowns Remain On Top

Thursday Division 1

Despite leading 3-0 half way through the first half,The Unknown Quantities were very fortunate to come from behind to tie with The Thirtysomethings in the top of the table clash. Man of the match, Gordon Lynch scored two fine goals for The Unknowns while Luka scored twice for The Thirtysomethings.

The goal of the night was scored by Paul Richardson of United who hit an unstoppable rocket from the half way line against The Bandits. Despite a late rally, the Bandits were unfortunate not to take a share of the spoils. The final score was 3-2.

Pity The Fool had a comprehensive 6-2 win over The All Blacks. Chris Dennehy put in a man of the match performance for Pity and helped himself to four goals.

New Boys, The Booze Crew had a fine 4-2 win over The Ex Pats in a great match which was illuminated by a couple of spectacular goals scored by Martin Carroll. However the goal of the match was scored by Tom Vaughan of The Pats.

Thursday Division 2

Kilkenny man Sean Tobin scored three and was man of the match for Bank of NY, as they easily defeated Apple Exiles 7-1. Jonathan McSweeney also bagged a hat trick for the winners.

Despite conceding a fine goal to Steve Riordan of JT Specials on the first play of the game, BNY FC won this fixture convincingly. Paul Creedon scored a hat trick for the winners.

Robert Johnson was outstanding for The Whitfords during their 3-0 triumph over The Flying Column. The pick of his stops was his top drawer save from a spectacular 25 yard volley from Dan McCarthy. Gavin Clancy notched two for the winners.

The Net Busters consolidated their position at the top of the table with an emphatic win over new boys TA Sheehan. Jake Smith was in great form for the winners and bagged four goals.

Wednesday Division 2

Far From Athletic and douglasmortgage.ie, both contenders for the title, came face to face and produced a scintillating contest which resulted in a narrow victory for Douglas. The dual was delicately balanced 1-1 at half time, but Brendan O Sullivan secured the points early in the second half for the winners following a great move involving Conor Quirke and Jim Walsh.

Club Redz and Balaga Tonga played out a pulsating 6-6 draw in the game of the evening. It looked like Balaga had secured victory when man of the match Rory Browne scored his fourth goal with minutes remaining. However, Niall Duggan equalised at the death when he was first to react to the loose ball following a good save from a fine Terry Yelverston free kick.

The Bons defeated a resurgent Rosies 6-3 in an entertaining match. James Cooke and Enimucha scored a brace a piece for the winners but the goal of the match was a thunderbolt by Paddy Cronin for Rosies which was struck on the volley.

CUH are improving every week and are now serious contenders for the title. Tom O Brien and Cathal O Sullivan scored four each for the winners. The pick of the goals was Toms fourth, which was a volley from about 20 meters.

Wednesday Division 3

Hit and Miss had a fine 5-2 win over fellow contenders BNYM FC. The high light of this encounter was the chest and volley goal scored by Darren Morgan for the winners. Frank Carley and Mark Kirby scored for BNYM.

The concession of three early goals made a difficult task even more difficult for Marys Ramblers against Boca Seniors. Chris Baker and Paul Cashman scored three each for The Bocas as they won this contest quite easily.

Erik Montgomery scored two superb goals and was generally outstanding for The Average Joes during their 4-0 over Barstoolona

The Castlemartyres, sporting their lovely new strip were looking good when they took an early lead against Substandard Liege. However, Substandard got back on level terms before half time when Brian Connell scored following a great pass from Patrick Hogan. Tony O Donovan scored the winner for Liege early in the second period.

Wednesday Division 1

The top of the table clash between Temple Inn and The Refugees was all square until just before half time when pressure from The Refugees finally paid off and they took a 2-1 lead. The second half followed a different pattern and the Polish lads won easily enough in the end.

The Kids, Racing Club encounter followed a similar pattern. Racing did very well in the first half and deserved to be on level terms at half time. In the second period The Kids showed their class. Their movement and team work was immense and they scored four unanswered goals to win 6-2

Danny Meade was in top form for QEF and scored a hat full of goals as his team easily dispatched O Donovan Electrical.

CUH Go Joint Top Of Division 2

Wednesday Division 2

CUH were in outstanding form when they defeated the league leaders Far From Athletic 2-1 to go joint top. An O.G. and a Tom O Brien strike put the Wilton lads 2-0 up at the break. Wayne O Callaghan pulled a goal back for FFA early in the second half, however CUH held on for victory.

The match of the evening involved another hospital team, The Bons, who were opposing Club Redz. This fixture resulted in another tight win for The Bons on a 4-3 score line. Jimmy Reardon scored three for The College Road lads.

Douglas mortgage returned to winning ways again this week with a fine 3-1 win over Sons of Pitches. After a dull first period, the encounter picked up in the second half, illuminated by the performance of Jerry O Reilly for the Pitches.

Rosies finally found the form that that made them so competitive for the last few seasons when they defeated Balaga Tonga 4-0. This fixture could have gone either way until Paddy Cronin scored a rocket from about 20 meters. This inspired Rosies and in the end they won quite easily.

Wednesday Division 3

After an evenly contested first half, the Average Joes dominated the second and defeated BNYM FC 4-1. The high light of this fixture was the spectacular free kick scored by Terry Jones of The Joes from 25 meters.

Hit and Miss are improving with every match. They stepped their performance up a notch again this week when they easily defeated the early league leader Barstoolona 6-1. Peter Sinnott and Dan Williams early goals set the tone.

Stephen Barry and Aidan Ryan scored a hat trick a piece for Boca Seniors as they easily defeated The Castlemartyres. Paul Hennessy was the man of the match for Boca while Jimmy Mellis and Brian Connell were on the mark for The Martyres.

Despite the heroics by Barry O Donovan in goal for Marys Ramblers, Substandard liege won this contest. The high light of the match was the the thunderbolt scored by Tony O Donovan – a volley direct from a throw in.

Wednesday Division 1

Despite scoring very early on and having the man of the match Liam Doyle among their ranks, O Donovans just couldn’t live with Racing Club. Chen was outstanding for Racing and scored 5 goals.

The QEF Global, Kids match was delicately balanced at 2-2 at half time. However The Kids took control in the second half and ran out easy winners. Eoghan Murphy was inspirational for the Ballinlough lads.

The Temple Inn easily defeated match.com 9-0 in a one sided affair. Kevin Garde scored four for Temple while Steve Dwyer was man of the match.

Pawel was in sparkling for the Refugees during their victory over Dynamo Tonduff. The concession of two very early goals didn’t help the Tonduff cause.

Thursday Division 2

The high light of this top of the table clash between The Net Busters and Bank of NY was the sweet strike by Gerald Guihan of Bank of NY for the opening goal. However this wasn’t enough to prevent The Net Buster from claiming the points in a very entertaining encounter that ended 7-5.

An outstanding last minute winner scored by Steve Riordan against The Flying Column earned JT Specials their first points of the season. A man of the match performance and a fine goal by Kieran McArtan couldn’t prevent The Specials from taking the spoils.

It looked like BNY United would move to within a point of the top of the league when Paul Creedon gave them a 3-2 lead towards the end of a very entertaining fixture against The Whitfords. However Cameron Espey denied them when he scored a bullet, the best of his three, to equalize with minutes remaining.

TA Sheehan were cruising at half time when they were leading Apple Exiles 2-0. In fact if it wasn’t for the heroics Apple goal keeper Sean Kenny, the encounter would have been decided at this point. It was a different story in the second half when Apple scored three to win by one.

Thursday Division 1

Despite leading twice the Bandits ended up on the wrong side of the 4-3 score line in an enthralling contest against Pity The Fool. Kieran Hetherington was man of the match while Eoin Barrett and Chris Dennehy scored 2 a piece for the winners. Shane Comerford and Ciaran O Brien stood out for the Bandits.

The Unknown Quantities demolished The Ex Pats 6-1 in this top of the table clash. Peter Fitzmaurice was immense at the back for the winners. Gordon Lynch also had a great innings and helped himself to an excellent hat trick.

Despite conceding an early goal, a six man United outfit defeated an out of sorts All Blacks 5-2. The high light of this match was the great goal scored by United goal keeper Cian Kennedy.

Regans Late winner Gives Column Victory

Thursday Division 2

Ray Regan scored the winner for The Flying Column with five minutes to go in an enthralling contest between The Flying Column and TA Sheehans which ended 4-3. Earlier John O Connor scored a brace for TA Sheehans while Donagh McCartan scored two for the Column.

Apple Exiles finally got some points on the board when they defeated JT Specials 5-3. Despite conceding an early goal, Apple were always in command in this encounter.

The Net Busters moved to joint top of the table after scoring a 4-2 win over a spirited Whitfords side. The game was delicately balanced at 1-1 when The Buster scored from a lucky ricochet and never looked back.

Both goal keepers were in top form in the derby match between BNY and Bank of New York when neither goal line was breached. However Bank of New York keeper Sean Tobin decided to show the forwards how to do it when he went out field in the second half and scored two while helping his team to a 5-2 win.

Thursday Division 1

Ex Pats Athletic were extremely fortunate to defeat a strong United to remain joint top of this division. Fiachra O Driscoll put United in the lead early on but a great team goal finished by Paddy O Donnell and set up by Pat McLaughlin left both teams deadlocked at half time. Kevin Broderick’s winner was comical. The ball rebounded to the net off of his back from the Uniteds goal keepers kick out.

The Unknown Quantities are living up to their name this season. They had a well deserved 6-2 win over The All Blacks. Gordon Ryan was the man of the match and scored a fine hat trick. The All Blacks, despites having a very talented squad can’t seem to get going this season.

The Thirtysomethings scored two late goals to defeat Pity The Fool 6-4 in a very exciting encounter. Man of the match, Eoin Barret scored three for Pity and didn’t deserve to be on the loosing side.

Wednesday Division 1

Jason Lake and Chen were in top form for Racing in their contest with Dynamo Tonduff. The Passage West lads were in command through out the match and deserved their 6-3 win.

Goal Keeper Tom O Connell played out of his skin for The Temple Inn in their victory over QEF Global. Dave Johnson, who scored three, and Rory Perry also impressed for the winners while Ray Keating and Danny Meade did well for QEF.

Despite leading early on, O Donovan Electrical found the going tough against a very polished Refugees. Kris Pawlik and Robert Kriegal tormented O Donovans for the evening while Leon Crowley and Leon Fitton did all they could to stem the tide. The high light of this match was an outstanding individual goal scored by Leon Fitton for O Donovans.

Wednesday Division 2

The Sons of Pitches finally got some points on the board when they defeated Club Redz 6-3. Jerry O Reilly of The Sons of Pitches was outstanding. He scored three goals and assisted two. However, the real difference between the sides was the youth and fitness of The Sons.

The upset of the evening was the defeat of douglasmortgage.ie by The Bons. The Douglas display seemed lethargic and slow compared to recent performances. In contrast The Bons were full of energy and industry, especially man of the match, Jimmy Reardon and were worth their 7-4 win. James Cooke scored an excellent hat trick for the winners.

Far From Athletic are continuing to impress in this division and are emerging as early favourites to take the title. This week they defeated Rosies with very impressive performances from Mark O Callaghan who scored four and Pat O Regan who scored 3

The CUH verses FC Balaga Tonga encounter was a very tight affair until the final 15 minutes when CUH scored four unanswered goals. Ivan Weir was in top form for CUH and is a very impressive finisher. He scored five.

Wednesday Division 3

The Boca Seniors BNYM FC encounter was a very tight, physical but sporting encounter which Boca Seniors won 5-3. The high light of the match was the second of Paul Cashmans two goals which was a long range thunder bolt.

Tony O Donoghue inspired Substandard Liege to a 7-4 victory over the early pace setters in this division, Barstoolona. The high light of the match was his brilliant run through the entire Barstoolona team before slotting the ball calmly past the keeper. The Barstoolona goal keeper also had an excellent match. In fact if it wasn’t for his string of top class saves the margin of Barstoolonas defeat would have been greater.

Marys Ramblers defended valiantly for long periods against Hit and Miss but the class of Dan Williams and Jody Sinnott for H and M shone through in the end. Dan Williams and Darren Morgan notched a hat trick a piece for the winners.

Despite an excellent performance and two great goals by Brian O Connell of The Castlemartyres, The Average Joes had a well deserved 7-2 win. The high light of this encounter was Erik Montgomery’s third goal which was set up by his brother Trevor.

Thirtysomethings Starting To Look Good

Thursday Division 1

The Thirtysomethings and The Ex Pats 3-3 draw was an enthralling contest. The Ex Pats looked like they would take the spoils when two goals by Bill Henry gave them an early lead. However, The Thirtysomethings were the better team in the second half and earned a draw when Luca and Jake McAuliffe scored two late goals.

It looked like Pity The Fool had scraped home in a humdinger against United when Garry Leahy gave them the lead with just a few minutes to go. Their joy was short lived when Cian O Malley equalised with the last kick. Paul Terry scored three for Pity.

The Bandits finally got their campaign off of the ground when they defeated The All Blacks 3-0. The high light of this encounter was the great team goal finished by Shane Comerford for the winners.

The Unknown Quantities had little difficulty defeating The Boothouse Bingers. However the goal of the match was scored by Robbie Bowen for the losers.

Thursday Division 2

The Flying Column and BNY shared the spoils in a very entertaining match that ended 1-1. Colin Devey scored a fine individual goal for BNY despite being kicked accidently in the face. Mark Cahill responded within five minuted for the Column with a great long range strike.

Sean Kenny was outstanding between the sticks for Apple against The Net Busters. If it wasn’t for his string of top class saves The Busters would have won by more than 3-1.

Kevin Clarke scored a last minute winner for TA Sheehans against a 6 man Bank of NY. The Bankers paid dearly for their many misses when Kevin pounced on a loose ball and calmly slotted it into the corner for a dramatic victory.

The Whitfords had a big win over JT Specials. Gavin Roser scored three for the winners while man of the match was Kevin O Connell who scored two.

Wednesday Division 1

Racing defeated QEF by three goals to one in a very entertaining match. It was Racings counter attack strategy that won it for them as they scored all three goals on breakaways. Racing keeper Colin Irwin was in top form, while Ryan Nolan & Danny Meade were always a threat for QEF.

Temple Inn had too much power and pace for Dynamo Tonduff in a very one sided affair. Kevin Garde scored 4 great goals for the Ballintemple outfit.

A much improved O’Donovan Electrical tried hard but came up short against The Kids, despite leading early on. Liam Doyle was excellent for O’Donovans, while Adrian O Connell was inspiring for The Kids.

The Refugees had too much strength in depth for match.com and ran out easy winners. Peter Bajeckl and Kris Pawlik were best for the Poles.

Wednesday Division 2

Far From Athletic continued their winning start to the season with an great all around team performance against Sons of Pitches. Liam Hennessy was the man of the match in this contest.

The CUH & Douglas Mortgage encounter was balanced on a knife edge at 3-3 half way through the second half before Albert Hobbs & Ed Quirke came to the Douglas lads rescue with 2 late goals. Gavin Summers & Cathal O’Sullivan were in great form for CUH.

Terry Yelverton put in a huge performance for Club Redz when he scored all five goals in their 5-2 win over Rosies. His 4^th goal was the pick of the bunch which was a great long range shot. Antoine Bercy scored a brace for Rosies.

An excellent individual goal by Dave Spiteri for the Bons was not enough as they were defeated 4-3 by Balaga Tonga. Ian Slattery and was central to Balaga’s victory and scored two fine goals.

Wednesday Division 3

Boca Seniors defeated SubStandard Liege 5-4 in the match of the evening. Paul Cashman scored an outstanding early goal for the winners. Pat Coleman was in top form for Liege who were unlucky to lose to a very late Shane Counihan winner.

Frank Carley was in a scoring mood for BNYM FC when they overcame Barstolona 8-5. He scored three, one a header and another a clever back heel. Gary Cronin & Paul O’Leary were best for The Barstool boys

The Castlemartyrs beat Marys Ramblers 8-4 to earn their first points. Jacob notched four goals for the winners, one of which was a spectacular volley. Ciaran O’Sullivan was tops for the Ramblers.

Hit & Miss, had too much energy and youth for the Average Joes when they defeated the White Cross lads 8-5. Dan Williams played in goal in the first half and pulled off a string of fine saves. He played the second half up front and scored a hat rick. Eric Montgomery scored 4 goals for the Joe’s and did not deserve to be on the losing side.

Ex Pats Rediscover Form

Thursday Division 1

The Ex Pats Athletic seem to be rediscovering the form that brought them great glory in the past. They defeated The Bandits 4-0 in a match they controlled from the start. Eamon Kelleher’s goal was the high light. It was a typical Ex Pats goal, involving all of their outfield players, with Eamon finishing with aplomb.

United defeated The Boothouse Bingers 7-3. The Boothouse did very well considering that they only had five players. In fact, they were still in contention at half time when they trailed by only 2. However, it was only a matter of time before United would put the match beyond the Whites Cross lads and when Kevin Wren scored his third the match was over as a contest.

Pity The Fool and The Unknown Quantities played a thrilling contest which was decided by a last minute Peter Fitzmaurice goal. It looked like Pity had secured a share of the spoils when Ken O Connor scored a fine goal to equalize approaching the final whistle but Peter Fitzmaurice dashed their hopes when he scored his second in the dying seconds.

The Thirtysomethings are emerging as a major force in this division this season. They defeated their old rivals The All Blacks quite easily. Niall Kerrigan was the star of the show for The Magpies while contributing two fine goals. Mark Murphy also scored two for The Thirtysomethings.

Thursday Division 2

BNY FC continued their winning ways with a fine 5-3 win over Apple Exiles. Apple had brought the deficit back to one with five minutes to go but Shane Lawler scupered their chances with a fine late individual effort.

Ricky Fleming scored three for Bank of NY in their 8-3 win over JT Specials. The high light of this match was the long range goal scored by Ger Guihan from deep in his own half.

The Net Busters found their form again when they had an excelleny 4-1 win over The Flying Column. John Sexton scored all four for the Cobh men. Alan Mullery scored a rocket for The Column late in the match.

TA Sheehans were brought back down to earth after their heroics of the previous week by a powerful Whitfords display. Gavin Rosser, who scored three goals was the man of the match.

Wednesday Division 1

It looked like Match.com had earned their first point of the season when Racing conceded an O.G in the last minute but incredibly they conceded an O.G. themselves in the dying seconds to finish on the wrong side of a 10 – 9 score line. Simon O'Leary scored three for Match but was bettered by one by Patrick McGovern who scored four for Racing.

The Refugees had to work very hard to defeat QEF 8-4. However, they were always in control in this encounter and are the early favorites to retain their title. Ryan Nolan put in another classy performance for QEF and helped himself to a hat trick while Piotr Bajcekl scored three for the Polish lads.

The Kids had another impressive win over Dynamo Tonduff. Man of the match Eoin Murphy and Kevin O Brien put in top class performances for the Kids while Declan O Callaghan did all he could to stem the tide.

The Temple Inn also had a big win, defeating O Donovan Electrical in a one sided match. It was unfortunate for O' Donovan’s to come up against Temple so early in the league. Rory Perry and John Daly were the men who did most damage for Temple.

Wednesday Division 2

F.C. Balaga Tonga secured their first win of the season with a pulsating victory5-4 win over The Sons of Pitches. Two amazing first half goals by Philip O Driscoll, within five minutes of each other was the difference between the sides.

Far From Athletic won a great contest against The Bons. Pat O Regan was the man of the match in this affair and contributed two well taken goals to their 4-2 win. David Spitter and Jimmy Reardon scored for the Bons.

Douglas Mortgage were too strong for Rosies in a one sided affair. Rosies seem to have taken their collective foot off of the peddle this season after performing well in previous campaigns. Douglas emerged victorious, winning 6-2. The Keepy Uppy King, Albert Hobbs bagged four.

Ivan Weir was the man of the match for CUH against Club Redz. He scored two great goals, including a thunderbolt from a very tight angle. CUH were just about worth their 4-2 win.

Wednesday Division 3

Hit and Miss and The Boca Seniors played a thrilling 6-6 draw. It looked like Hit and Miss had secured the points until man of the match, Aidan Fahy of The Boca Seniors equalized, scoring his fourth goal with the last kick of the match. Stephen Sinnott and Dan Williams scored two apiece for Hit and Miss,

The Average Joes and Substandard Liege encounter followed a very similar pattern. Terry Jones of The Average Joes popped up to secure his team a draw with a last minute equalizer. This was another enthralling contest which finished 5-5.

Barstoolona remain unbeaten despite a great display from The Castle Martyrs. The high light of this match was the great individual goal by Ian Cotter in the first half. He went on to score a hat trick.

BNYM FC also maintained their 100% record when they defeated Mary’s Ramblers 9-6. . Frank Carley helped himself to four for BNYM while Ciaran O Sullivan and Paul McCabe scored 2 each for the Ramblers. However the goal of the night was scored by Shay O Connell for BNYM. He collected the ball in his own area and danced through the entire opposition before dispatching the ball calmly into the right side of the goal.

Refugees Continue To Shine

Wednesday Division 1

Last season champions, The Refugees started the Spring 2011 season in the same vein as they finished the 2010 Autumn season. Despite a first half hat trick by Padraig McGovern that earned Racing a 3-2 half time lead, The Refugees had plenty in reserve and finished comprehensive 8-3 winners. Pawel Pciak and goalkeeper Marcin Korona were again in outstanding form for the winners.

Newcomers, The Kids started their campaign with a fine 4-1 win over Temple Inn Tigers. These lads will probably be contenders in this division if they maintain this standard of performance. Eoghan Murphy, who scored twice and Colin Hammond did well for the winners while Steve Dwyer tried hardest for Temple.

QEF Global proved to be too strong another new team, Match.Com. The excellent Ryan Nolan scored 5 times for QEF while Ray Keating also impressed.

Dynamo Tonduff got their campaign off to a good start with a 4-2 win over O’Donovan Electrical. It looked like O’Donovans had retrieved the situation when Mark Halahan equalised with his second goal half way through the second half ,but Brian O’Donovan secured the points for Tonduff with two late goals.

Wednesday Division 2

CUH had a great start to the season with a big win against Rosies. Thomas O’ Brien and Ivan Weir were excellent for CUH, but it was newcomer Sean Sheehan who was most impressive.

The Bons had a hard fought 5-3 win over Sons of Pitches. This Bons team can only improve with practise and will be contenders in this division. Jimmy Reardan, who scored twice was his usual handful for the Bons while Steve Crowley put in a good shift for the Pitches.

Douglas Mortgage went from 3 up to 3 down and came back to win 7-6 in a most amazing contest against Club Redz. Young, Connor Quirke scored 4 times for the Douglas lads, while man of the match Terry Yelverton scored 4 for Club Redz.

FC Balaga Tonga and Far From Athletic shared 8 goals in another exciting game. A late John Duggan strike rescued a point for Balaga, forcing Far From to regret the many wasted opportunities that they had to put the fixture beyond doubt.

Wednesday Division 3

Barstoolona started life in Division 3 with an easy win over newcomers Marys Ramblers. Despite a great headed goal by Donal Crowley for Ramblers, the youth and fitness of the Barstoolona lads proved to be the difference between the teams. Ian Cotter and William Punch were in fine form for the winners.

It was one of those nights when everything seemed to work for BNYM FC as they easily defeated the Castle Martyrs. Kevin Murphy, Shay O Connell and Mark Kirby all had great games for the winners while Mick Ryan did all he could for the Martyrs.

Excellent finishing by Joe O’Sullivan proved to be the difference between the Average Joe’s and the Boca Seniors. He scored 4 times. Despite equalising before the break the Boca Seniors lost their way in the second half and ended up on the wrong side of the 6-3 score line. Philip “Blackie” Blackwell and Paul Cashman were best for The Boca boys.

Dan Williams was in sparkling form for Hit & Miss in their encounter with Sub Standard Liege. He scored a hatrick and was ably helped by the Sinnott Brothers. These lads will be contenders this season. James Mealy, Pat Coleman and Tony O Donovan scored for Liege.

Thursday Division 1

A well organised Ex Pats Athletic defeated their old rivals, The All Blacks in a very entertaining tie that ended 5-3. This was a case of organisation and team work defeating individual flair, which the All Blacks have in abundance. Niall Murphy and Dave Donnelly were always a threat for the Mount Oval lads while Dan Mannix and Eamon Kelleher, who scored two vital goals, were most effective for their opponents.

A spectacular volley by Paul Richardson with five minutes to go earned United a share of the spoils with The Unknown Quantities. A feature of this match was the silky skills of Chen, who is revelling on the new surface at Garryduff and the opportunities he created for his team mates. Padraig McGovern accepted most of what was on offer. He bagged a hat trick.

Last seasons Division 2 champions got their campaign in the higher flight off to a great start when they defeated The Boothouse Bingers 2-1. The Boothouse will consider them selves unlucky to have lost this affair. The high light of this game was Steve Cronin’s wonder goal for The Boothouse.

Thursday Division 2

Newcomers, TA Sheehans made a miraculous recovery when they recovered a 5-0 half time deficit. Despite Rob Carpenters man of the match performance for JT Specials, John Collins’s men showed great spirit and did him proud in the second half.

It was experience and know how that won the day for the Flying Column when they defeated Apple Exiles 3-0. It was the Exiles first 7-a side encounter, but with some practise they will improve. Ray Regan(2) and Noel Hayes were on the score card for the Barrack Street lads.

Despite having the man of the match, Tim Crowley among their ranks, being a man short was just too much for The Net Busters. BNY FC won this game quite easily in the end. The ever green Philip Carey and Shane Lawler scored two a piece for the winners.

The other Bank of New York team in this division also won their match quite easily, despite being 3-1 down early on, when they defeated The Whitfords 7-3. Indeed, if it wasn’t for goal keeper Jasper Peterson, the BNY lads would have won by much more.
