MP O Sullivans Stretch Lead

Wednesday Division 3
It was another good night for leaders MP O’Sullivans as they beat the Average Joes and their closest rivals Gowlacticos were surprisingly beaten by BNY. Ger Kelleher who scored a brace was O’Sullivans top player and always looked dangerous. A beautiful volley from a corner from veteran John “Speedie” O’Donovan gave the Average Joe’s hope, but the younger legs on the O’Sullivans team made the difference as the game went on.
Declan McMahon scored the goal of the evening for BNY as he finished a beautiful one two with a volley placed in the corner. The ball never touched the ground from when McMahon started the move. The Baggios and Sub Standard Liege played out a thrilling 4-4 draw. Alan O Gorman was on the mark twice for Baggios to put them into a commanding 4-1 lead, but SSL fought back with James Meeley who also scored twice, leading the charge.
Rosies came out on top in another close encounter against Fritzl Palace by the odd goal. Veteran Paddy Cronin was excellent for Rosies and he come out of defence to score a late winner for the Carrigaline boys

Wednesday Division 2
The very influential  Ian Cotter scored 4 times for Multiple Scorgasams as they completely over ran Dynamo Tonduff.
Hit or Miss also had a big win as they beat The Crew. Dan Williams and Dan McSweeney did the damage for Hit or Miss although the Crew never gave up and worked very hard until the final whistle.
Joint leaders Golden Oldies and Balaga Tonga both had wins and stay on course for a showdown that will probably be a title decider, this Wednesday at 8 o’clock. Willie Coveney was brilliant as for the Oldies they beat Boca Seniors 4-0. Tremendous finishing from Killian Hogan was a feature of their win.

Wednesday Division 1
Ed Noonan was on song for Racing as they comprehensively beat Cork Celtic. Noonan was on the mark twice and contributed to Padraig McGoverns 2 goals also. Far From Athletic stay 2 points behind Racing Club after they beat The Bons 3-1. Brian O Regan was top man for Far From as he was so solid in defence. Darragh O’Regan’s bicycle kick broke spirit of the Bons team who provided stiff opposition on the night.
Douglas Mortgage beat a six man CUH team by a comfortable scoreline although CUH held on to the ball very well with only six players for long periods in the game. Gavin Summers was on form for CUH. John Mullarky and Eoin Carroll were best for Mortgage

Thursday Division 1
The All Blacks continued their recent good form as they beat the Net Busters 2-1. Niall Murphy was again in good form for the winners and came up with the winning goal.
OS Naventages beat a dogged Ex Pats team 5-2. The game was tied at 2-2 before Paulo Santos showed his class and scored twice in the 2nd half to win it for the Portugese boys.
Peter Kelleher scored a cracking goal for The Cow Tippers as they overcame 30 Somethings 4-2. Kevin Garde hit a brace for the Tippers. Niall Kerrigan and Graham Virgo were on the mark for the Somethings

Thursday Division 2
Game of the week was a 4-4 draw between The Bandits and the Boothouse Bingers. The Bingers lost ground on leaders Sporting CPL as the Bandits showed great spirit to come back to level in the closing minutes. The Bingers who lost Shane Cahill to injuiry were hanging on towards the end and must now make the most of their 2 games with CPL which will decide the destination of the title.
The Rovers beat Novartis 5-4 in another tight game that could have gone either way. Stephen Keane hit a brace for Rovers as did Ivan Murphy for Novartis.
Rory Walsh gave a one man show scoring 6 times for CPL as they easily dispatched Sons of Pitches.
Eoin Barrett proved unstoppable on the night for Athletico PTF as the beat BNY FC 4-2. Centre forward Barrett scored all 4 goals, his third being the pick of the bunch

Thursday Division 3
Steve Riordain scored a brilliant late winner for JT Specials as they came up with their first win of the season by beating the Flying Column 4-3 in a tremendous game. Neil Gordon scored twice for the Specials as they came from 3-2 down in the last few minutes to win. Both sides attacked at every opportunity. Late stand in goalkeeper John Ahern made some crucial saves to deny the Column late in the game.
Cormac Love scored a hatrick for Apple Exiles as they proved too strong for Whitfords, as the Exiles maintained their title challenge.
It was a five star team performance by leaders Panicakios as they proved too strong for South City. Dylan O’Brien was on song for Panicakios and also on the mark 4 times.

Multiple Scoregasisms Defeat Leaders Golden Oldies

Wednesday Division 2
Multiple Scorgasans had an excellent 4-3 win over leagues leaders Golden Oldies which puts them back into contention. This was a hard fought but  sporting game as Kieran Buckley hit a brace for the Scorgasams who had Keith Kelleher in excellent form.
Hit or Miss also beat joint leaders Balaga Tonga by the same scoreline in the game of the evening where Dan Williams was in tremendous form scoring all 4 goals for Hit or Miss.
Boca Seniors recorded a comprehensive win when they beat Dynamo Tonduff 5-1. Paul Richardson with 2 superb strikes for Bocas who passed the ball better on the night.
A goal from the half way line by Arian Griffin for the Pink Panthers was the highlight in this game, but it was not enough as his side were well beaten by The Crew, who had Gary Marshall and Wayne Cambridge in goal scoring mood.


Wednesday Division 1
Far From Athletic had a comfortable 4-1 win over Douglas Mortgage. A blocked clearance from the Mortgage keeper by Darragh O’Regan that fell into the net, set them on their way to an excellent all round team performance. Racing Club maintain the 2 point gap at the top as they had a walkover over CUH as the Bons overcame Cork Celtic 6-3 in a very entertaining game. James Cooke hit a hatrick for the Bons who had Jimmy Reardon in excellent form once again. Robbie Bowen did best for Celtic.

Wednesday Division 3
League leaders MP O’Sullivans had a comprehensive win over Rosies. Jay Nixon was best for MP’s who will beat hard to stop now with only 4 games left. Gerry O’Reilly was also excellent for O’Sullivans.
Sub Standard Liege put in their best display of the season so far as they beat a stubborn Bank of New York team. This was a good all round team performance by the Liege boys but star man was James Mealy who hit 4 goals. Mark Kirby did well for the Bankers.
The Average Joes showed their battling qualities as the scored twice in the last 5 minutes to beat Fritzl Palace 2-1. Eric Montgomery who is just back after injury, with 2 excellent goals. Seamus Daly was excellent for Palace.
The Baggios put a dent in Gowlacticos title aspirations as they outplayed them and won comfortably in the end after a tight first half. Philip Sherman scored a crucial goal just after half time to put them 2-1 up. Phil Mohally was excellent for Baggios

Thursday Division 1
Well done to all teams who played in horrendous weather conditions last Thursday night.
The 30 Somethings won a hard fought game with the Net Busters by the odd goal as Barry Kennedy hit a brace for Somethings.
The All Blacks continued their good run with another big win as they beat The Ex Pats 6-2. Killian Hogan, Dan O’Connell and man of the match Niall Murphy all scored twice for the All Blacks.
The Cow Tippers and OS Naventages played a very exciting 5-5 draw. A late Justin Bank goal for the Tippers stopped OS from extending their lead at the top and now opens up this division. Steve Dwyer for Cow Tippers and Paulo who hit a hatrick for OS were both in excellent form as Peter Kelleher also scored a hatrick the Ballintemple boys.

Thursday Division 2
CPL were back to winning ways after last weeks setback as they
overcame the Bandits 6-2. This was another game that was closely contested, closer than the scoreline suggests. Fiachra O Driscoll with a hatrick for Sporting CPL being the main difference between the sides.
John Roche scored 4 times for The Rovers who are finally getting some good results after a run of good performances without getting points on the board. They beat BNY 5-3 whose best player was Phil Carey

Thursday Division 3
The Flying Column put in a typical dogged performance but came up short as league contenders Apple Exiles put is a good late 2nd half display to win this hard fought game.
Panicakios maintain their 3 point lead over Apple, as they beat JT Specials
5-2. Gavin Chenby with a brace and Seamus O’Brien were excellent
for Panicakios.
A brillant all around display from Whitfords who played some excellent football helped them overcome the much improved South City. Jack Russell and Gavin Roser were best for Whitfords as they won 5-1

All Blacks Shock Os Navegantes

Thursday Division 1
The All Blacks surprised everyone but themselves as they beat league leaders OS Navantages, and beat them well. Philip Healy scored with a great shot early in the game to set them on their way. Dave Depuis and Rob Healy both scored hatricks and  helped the All Blacks to their best team performance in a couple of seasons.
The Cow Tippers finally got off the mark as they beat the Net Busters 5-3 in a very tight game. A Steve Dwyer hatrick proved the difference as both sides produced some great football.
The 30 Somethings won by the same scoreline as they overcame the Ex Pats. A great first half hatrick by Niall Kerrigan for the Somethings pushed them into a 5-0 halftime lead. The Ex Pats showed their fighting spirit in the 2nd half and scored 3 without reply to make the scoreline respectable.

Thursday Division 2
Boothouse Bingers who have a game in hand, closed the gap on Sporting CPL with a good win against the Rovers.  Robbie Bowen was in tremendous for the Bingers and pulled all the strings in midfield. A few excellent saves from Rob Cole in the Rovers goal kept the score at 7-4.
CPL were beaten for the first time this season by an inspired Athletico PTF team. Ross O Riordain, Jan Oosterhoff and John O’Sullivan were all on the mark for PTF as they won a close game 3-2.
Ivan Murphy produced a great strike from 20 yards to inspire Novartis to a 3-1 win over the Bandits. Alan McGrath was in top form for the Novartis boys while Gary Stack was the lone Bandit scorer.

Thursday Division 3
A great performace from Whitford’s Gavin Clancy inspired them to a 5-2 over the hard work JT Specials. The Specials were tied at 2-2 but Whitfords had a bit too much class in their side with Clancy scoring twice.
A Dillion O’Brien brace helped Panicakios had a 3-2 win over and unlucky Flying Column team and remain top of the pile by 3 points over Apple Exiles. Apple had a 6-2 win over South City but it could have been more only for Arthur O’Shea in the City goal who was in brilliant form. Ronan Geary scored twice and was again excellent for the exiles.

Wednesday Division 1
Far From Athletic came through a tough encounter with CUH who put in their best performance of the season. CUH were 2 goals down but battled hard and a late Ian Weir goal had them under pressure to hang on to the win for the last few minutes. Aaron Atkinson was best for Far From.
Douglas Mortgage stayed in touch with the leaders with a 4-2 win over Cork Celtic. John Mullarky stepped up to the mark for Douglas with 2 late goals. Racing Club who remain in top spot, had a 4-1 win over the Bons. A thunderbolt shot from almost the halfway line from Racing’s Patrick McGovern was the highlight in this game but Ian Forde also scored a beautiful volley for The Bons. Edward Noonan and Rory O’Leary who scored twice were excellent for Racing.

Wednesday Division 2
Multiple Scoregasams won out in a high scoring encounter with The Crew. Stephen Moynihan was central to their victory and laid on a few goals as well as being on the mark himself. Ian Cotter hit the net 4 times for the winners and Gary Marshall and Jamie McKenzie both scored twice for the Crew. Golden Oldies eased past the Pink Panthers to remain in top spot. Balaga Tonga who are joint top had it a bit tougher to secure the points but also came through against Boca Seniors. Joe Dempsey was star man and also scored a beautiful goal late on in the game to secure the win for Balaga.
Dan Williams scored a great individual goal for Hit & Miss as they hammered Dynamo Tonduff  5-0.

Wednesday Division 3
Rosies again Baggios played a thrilling game where the more experienced Rosies came out on top by the odd goal. Kieran Hurley put Rosies ahead with a bullet like shot after 10 minutes. An og and a Martin Higgins goal extended their advantage to 3-0 by half time. But Baggios inspired by Wayne O Callaghan and Pedro Oliveros came back to 3-3 with 5 minutes still remaining. With the momentum, Baggios were pushing for the equaliser when Rosies caught them on the break and Higgins came up with the winner from close range with the last kick of the game.
Fritzl Palace beat Sub Standard Liege 6-2. Mike Wren again in great form as was Sean Stack for the winners, but the highlight was a rocket from Seamus Daly for Palace.
The 2 top teams, Gowlacticos and MP O’Sullivans played out a hard fought 1-1 draw. Bernard Curtin got man of the match for O’Sullivan as he came up with a great header late in the game to seal a point and stop Gowlacticos from moving into top spot.
A draw was a fair result as the Bank of New York and the Average Joes shared 8 goals in a very entertaining game. The Montgomery Brothers Eric and Trevor shared a brace a piece for the Joes while Declan McMahon and John Deveraux were excellent for the Bankers.

Bons Defeat CUH

Wednesday Division 1
The Bons again overcame CUH in a closely fought encounter, Ian Forde put in an outstanding display for the Bons, who led 3-1 at the break and spent much of the 2nd half defending. CUH pushed hard for the equaliser but came up short as the Bons held on.
Padraig McGovern and Ryan Nolan were in great form for Racing and their goals helped them to a valuable 3 points and a good win over an under strength Douglas Mortgage side. Douglas enjoyed a lot of possession but lacked penetration and this suited the Racing Club’s counter attacking game.
Far From Ath kept in touch with the leaders with a 6-3 win over Cork Celtic. Aaron Atkinson and Pat O’Regan were best for Far From and both bagged hatricks. Rob Bowen and Gavin McAdam were on the mark for Celtic while David James scored and incredible goal, definitely a goal of the season contender.

Wednesday Division 2
3 early goals from Brian Murphy was the key ingredient for Hit or Miss as they beat Boca Seniors 6-3. Dan Williams was again excellent for the winners as was Dan McSweeney. Paul Richardson fought hard for Bocas.
Balaga Tonga had a hard fought 3-1 win over Dynamo Tonduff to stay joint top with the Golden Oldies  who had an easy win over the Crew. Philip Cotter was central to Balaga win and put in a good shift in midfield. Killian Hogan and Eoin Cotter were best for the Oldies as they dominated the Crew in a one sided affair.
Multiple Scoregasams also won rather easily, as the beat the Pink Panthers, but the scoreline could have been worse only for and excellent performance from the Panthers keeper.
  
Wednesday Division 3
MP O’Sullivans secured the 3 points in a great game with the Baggios. Pedro Oliveros put the Baggios ahead with a cracking shot early on in the game. But the boys from the fruit & veg outfit fought back and worked very hard throughout the game and just about deserved their victory.
Alan Forde was excellent and scored a brace, but an OG and a sin bin for Baggios did not help their cause.
Gowlacticos showed great character coming back from 3 nil down and put an end to Rosies recent revival as they beat them 6-3. Barry Fitzgerald and Michael Keohane were best for Gowlacticos while Rosies could not maintain the pace at which they started the game.
Bank of New York held off a spirited Fritzl Palace team and won 6-4.
Declan McMahon was in tremendous form for the Bankers and scored a hatrick, while Mike Wren did likewise for Palace who had the upper hand in the 2nd half but could not turn their possession into goals.

Thursday Division 1
The All Black and the 30 Somethings played out a cracking 3-3 draw. A fair result was the verdict here as Cillian Hogan scored twice and was excellent for the All Blacks while Colm Dooley was best for the Somethings.
OS Naventages had too much class in their side for the Net Busters who were well off the pace on the night. Emanuel put in a fantastic display for the Portuguese lads and scored 4 times. Who would be brave enough to bet against OS to win the title now?
Eoin Sheehy was in top form as and helped Ex Pats to a narrow 4-3 over the Cow tippers. A touch of class from Tim O’Connor producing the winner for the Ex Pats.

Thursday Division 2
Sporting CPL remain dominant in this division and had a 4-0 win over Novartis. Clinical finishing from Alan Jordan was the feature of this game as he helped himself to a hatrick.
Rovers who took an early lead again came up short and were beaten by the Sons of Pitches in a tight game. Barry Brosnan and John Roche battled hard for Rovers but they had no answer to the very lively Cormac Crowley who scored 3 times for the Pitches.
3 late goals from BNY made the scoreline look somewhat respectable as the
Boothouse Bingers raced into an early lead. Rob Bowen and Davis James were in good form for the Bingers.
The Bandits and Athletico PTF played out a cracking 2 all draw. Both defences were on top early on as the Bandits who were ahead twice in the hour could not hold on. A great header by Athletico’s Jan Oosterhof kept his side level at half time. Dave Creedon scored twice for the Bandits.

Thursday Division 3
The Flying Column got off to a flying start as Fabrice Fortune scored a great goal after only 30 seconds. This game turned out to be the game of the week as it went from end to end. The new hard work ethtic from the South City lads continued as they levelled the scores at 3-3. Ciaren Maguire was best for City. A fair result for both teams.
Apple Exiles had a big win over JT Specials. Ronan Geary’s goal being the game highlight as he flicked the ball over his and the defenders head and finished with a great volley to the back of the net. Liam Kileen scored both goals for Panicaikos as they beat Whitfords 2-0. A cracking first half free kick was all that divided these teams until the last minute when Whitfords conceded again. Tim Kramer was Panic’s best player.
The Average Joes game against Sub Standard Liege was cancelled due to the death of Eric and Trevor Montgomery’s father. “RIP Monty”

Far From Defeat League Leaders Racing

Wednesday Division 1
Far From Athletic opened up this division last Wednesday with an excellent performance and a good win over table toppers Racing Club. With the game evenly poised 2-2 at half time, The Far From boys ran riot in the 2nd half with 4 unanswered goals. The pace and finishing of Pat O’Regan was too much for the Racing as O’Regan ended up with a hatrick.
Douglas Mortgage joined Racing at the top, but remain 2nd on goal difference after a hard fought 2-0 over The Bons. John Mullarky with a fine 2nd half strike to seal it for Douglas. Jim Walsh and Eoin Carroll were again in good form for the winners.
Cork Celtic enjoyed their first win by the narrowest of margins, over CUH.
Calvin McCarthy scored a hatrick for Celtic while a Rory Barry blockbuster kept CUH in touch. Gavin Summers was man of the match for CUH and was unlucky to be on the losing side.

Wednesday Division 2
Newcomers the Crew came off 2nd best against Balaga Tonga who remain level at the top with Golden Oldies who had a 4-0 win over Dynamo Tonduff. The Balaga lads had a little too much class in their side with Rob Rose and Philip Sweetman very much involved and amoungst the goals.
Willie Coveney, Cillian Hogan and Eoin Cotter were on the mark in the 2nd half for the Oldies. Dave Murphy fought hard for Tonduff who did well in the 1st half but could not hold Cotter & company in the 2nd half.
Boca Seniors got a hammering from Multiple Scorgasams, whose best players were Ian Cotter and Kieran Buckley. Fiachra O Driscoll scored some fine goals in the 2nd half for Bocas to make the score a bit more respectable, but the Scoregasams had taken their foot of the gas.
Dan Williams gave a fine performance for Hit or Miss  who overcame the Pink Panthers 6-4 in a very entertaining game. Cian Tisdale was in excellent for the Panthers who have yet to get off the mark in the division but are certainly improving with each week.
At the half way stage, Division 2 looks like a 2 horse race between Balaga Tonga and the Golden Oldies for honours.
  
Wednesday Divison 3
Rosies held off the Average Joes and secured their 2nd win in a row with a 3-2 win. Rosies seem to have a real find in their new centre forward Martin Higgins, who was again in form and scored two 2nd half goals to secure the points for Rosies.
MP O’Sullivans remain top as they eased past Fritzl Palace. The very lively Clive Cremin with 4 well taken goals. Alan Forde ran this game form midfield for O’Sullivans.
Michael Keohane scored 2 headers and a tremendous volley to help Gowlacticos beat Sub Standard Liege. They were always in control despite the efforts of Patrick Coleman who tried hardest for Liege.
The Baggios who are in third spot in this division won again also, beating a hard working Bank of New York team by 6-4. Phil Mohally with a 2nd half hatrick proving the difference between these 2 sides.
This division looks like its between the current top 3 teams for honours this season.
