30 Somethings Topple Leaders

Thursday Division 1

The Thirty Somethings used all their experience to hold out and overcome the Net Busters in a tough encounter, beating the Table Toppers 2-1. Niall Kerrigan was excellent for the Somethings in goal, and Graham Virgo was back to his best in front of goal, scoring a brace to secure their best result of the season. Steve Stromsoe scored for the Net Busters who threw the Kitchen sink at their opponents late in the game in search of an equaliser, but a brilliant defensive team effort by Somethings proved enough to clinch the 3 points.

The Drink Team then had the opportunity to go 3 points clear of the Net Busters an hour later, but were unable to capitalise fully as they were held in a thrilling 4-4 draw against the Boca Seniors. Bocas led 4-2 and with 15 minutes to go and looked in control as the Drink Team went down to 6 men after a sin binning. But the Polish boys played their best football and got back to within one goal, and then scored again when their 7th player got back on the pitch. Damien Tecza was best for Drink Team and scored twice while Eric Cotter continued his good form for Boca’s and brought his tally to 15 goals for the season.

River Plate overcame FC Copen Badly 3-2 in another very close encounter. Peter Meade scored twice for the Carrigaline lads and was man of the match. Brian Lyons looks to be back to his best form after a couple of injuries, was excellent for Copen Badly, but they gave away a soft goal for the winner with a mistake from a throw in, which let Meade in on goal and he clinically dispatched the winner for River Plate.

Thursday Division 2

League leaders Mount Oval were held by The Booze Buddies in a cracking game that ended 3-3. A late o.g. by an Oval defender denied them valuable points. Dave Hogan (2) and Don Canning were the Oval goal scorers, while Jody Drennan and Ger Brady were on the mark for the Booze Buddies who were value for their draw.

The Dragons and 2nd placed Dreamers played out a really tough battle that ended with a late winner for the Dreamers. Dave Linnane with the all important goal. However a brilliant save by Dean Cummins in the last seconds was the highlight of this game to put his side back on top of the league.

Thursday weeks fixture between  Mount Oval and the Dreamers looks to be the Title decider at this stage.

The Sons of Pitches continued their excellent form with another fine win over the JT Specials. James O’Loughlin and Alan O’Sullivan both scored twice for the Pitches who are playing the best football in this division over the last 3 weeks.

The Cowboys had their 2nd win on the bounce with a fine 3-0 victory over AC Exiles, with all the goals coming in the first half. Darren Croinin with 2 excellent strikes and man of the match Jessie Byrne scoring their other goal.

Thursday Division 3

Panicyakios and the Boothouse Bingers again both had convincing wins and continue to dominate this league. Their game against each other this Thursday at 9pm looks like it will decide the destination of the winners trophy that is if either side can win, after their last encounter ended in a 4 all draw.

Aidan Fenton and Fabrice Fortune both scored 2 beautiful goals for the Flying Column as the narrowly beat the Lemmons 2-1. Both goals were very well placed shots right in the corner of the net. Joao Oliveros scored the Lemmons lone goal, whose best player was veteran Niall Collins.

The Ball Busters also won by the same margin, as they overcame the Whitfords 3-2.

The impressive Tim O Connor with a brace for the East Cork Lads, while Gavin Rosser did likewise for Whitfords. Rosser, Kevin O’Connell, and Jesper Peterson pushed hard for an equaliser but they just came up short.

Balaga Tongo Back In The Hunt

Wednesday Division 2

Balaga Tongo are back in the hunt as results went their way last week and they now find themselves 4 points off the top with 5 games to go.Roco Risers missed out on a chance to join Missing FC at the top of the table as they were held in a thrilling 5-5 draw against Rosies. A last minute equaliser by veteran Kieran Hurley was enough to give the Carrigaline boys a point as they continue their improvement after a poor start to their season. Ryan O'Brien was best this young Roco side and scored a hatrick. Daniel Freitas did likewise for Rosies. A lack of experience from Roco led to them conceding the late equaliser as they went chasing another goal and got caught on the break.Missing FC and Schuf FC had drawn 2-2 earlier in the evening. This was a tough battle as Schuf are 4 points leaders Missing and a loss here would have probably ended their title hopes. Darren Lynch for Schuf and Jurgen Bukowski for Missing were best for their sides and were both on the score sheet with Bukowski extending his impressive tally to 18 goals with 2 excellent strikes. Leslie Edwards was Schuf's other scorer and a draw was a fair result. Roco's tie with Missing on the 2nd last week of the season looks like it may be a title decider.Balaga Tongo had a hard fought 2-1 win over the Angry Badgers with centre forward Eoin Kennedy proving to be a real handful for the Badgers, scoring twice with a strike in each half. John Duggan was impressive in midfield and gave Balaga what they they may have been missing all season, with Balaga holding possession for longer periods than they have been in previous weeks. Stephen O'Reilly had given the Badgers a first half lead who missed a glorious chance to go 2-0 up and so missed out on a chance to gain their first points of the season.

Wednesday Division 1

Ezy Fc continued to steam roll this division and again had too much power, pace and skill as they dismantled AC Standard 7-1. Standard put up a good fight in the first half and were only a goal down at half time, but Dave Johnson was star man for Ezy after the break and scored a hatrick, with the reliable Steve Dwyer again scoring twice. Paul Kilcoyne was AC's lone scorer who could not live with Ezy's increase in tempo in the 2nd half. Paul Smith Lyons and Peter Fitzmaurice were Ezy's other scorers.Albino Leffe had a good 4-2 win over last placed Dynamo Tonduff. Mark Kennefick was man of the match and scored a brace for Albino. Peter O Keeffe scored the games opener with a brilliant strike from 25 yards for Tonduff, Jeff Abbott also scored a really well worked goal for Albino to make the score 1-1 at halftime.  Joe McAuliffe was star man for Sliabh na mBan as he scored 3 times in a 6-2 win over Fritzl Palace. Killian Lynch and Mike Wren tried hardest for Palace and Lynch scored both goals. Rob Lydon was in top form for na mBan and passed the ball very well and did most to organise his team in an impressive team display.Deportivo gave 2nd placed Baggios a scare and gave them an excellent game. Colin Gurhy proving a handful for the Baggios defence scoring twice. But the Baggios passed the ball better and created more chances with Darragh O Regan and man of the match Ben Ryan also scoring 2 a piece.  

Thursday Division 2

The Cowboys had their first win of the season after 9 games as they beat the Booze Buddies 3-2. An own goal proving to be the winner with 5 minutes to go. The Cowboys who are from Carrigaline defended well especially in the closing minutes to clinch their first win. This win should give them a lot of confidence having come close in the last few weeks.The Sons of Pitches opened up this division again with their best performance of the season with a fine 5-1 win over league leaders the Dreamers who had impressively won their opening 8 games. Mount Oval went back on top on goal difference as their won a tough battle with AC Exiles with a 1-0 win. Philip Healy with the only goal, but their real hero was their keeper Isaac Farrell who made 3 point blank saves in a frantic 30 second period late in the game. Twists and turns lie ahead in this league with lower lying teams capable of good performances and upsetting teams above them. Notably the JT Specials and now the Cowboys after their first win of the season

Sexton Inspires Net Busters Comeback

Footy Report Thursday 7th November 2013

Thursday Division 1

The Net Busters stay in joint top position after a tremendous comeback to win against the Boca Seniors. Bocas led 2-0 at the break after Eric Cotter and Aidan Murphy has scored 2 excellent strikes and were fully deserving of this lead having dealt well with a strong Net Busters side before the break. Veteran Tommy Dunne, the Ex Cork City manager was central to all the good Bocas play, but perhaps too many substitutions interrupted their rhythm and they were forced to defend deep in the 2nd half, thus handing the impetus to the Net Busters. Top Scorer Paul Sexton got them back to within a goal with a rasping right foot drive, before levelling 5 minutes later with another right foot shot from 10 yards. Sexton then produced a sublime piece of skill in the last minute of the game when he lifted a lob chipped pass over the Bocas defence to the inrushing Dave McCarthy who finished beautifully with a backheel to the net for a memorable victory.

    Drink Team made easy work of beating River Plate and look to be back to their best form after some poor performances. Peter Perdas will be key to their title challenge and needs to be in the side for the big games especially against The Net Busters who they play on the 5th of December. Matusiak Lukasz scored an impressive 5 times for Drink Team

    FC Copen Badly did not cope very well with a very experienced Thirty Somethings side and went down 4-2 to the veterans. The damage was done in the first half when Luca Gastoldi, Brian Kelleher, Mark Murphy and man of the match Brian McLaughlin were the Somethings goal scorers. Copen Badly were better in the 2nd half and made a better game of it. Murphys goal is worthy of a mention as  it was a drive from about 25 yards. Dean Dunlea and Peter Carroll replied for Copen Badly.

Thursday Division 2

The Sons of Pitches had another hard fought 3-2 win over the Dragons and seem to be enjoying life in division 2 having spent years in the 3rd division. Alan O’Sullivan who has upped his game considerably since the move to the higher level scored with a tremendous volley and a contender for goal of the season for his sides first goal. Sean Jordan opened the scoring with an excellent shot for the Dragons after 10 minutes. The Dragons had their 5th 3-2 scoreline of the season, but just came up short against a well organised Pitches side.

    The Booze Buddies had a 4-2 win over AC Exiles, to stay within 8 points of the leaders, with Damien O’leary and Trevor Rowe both scoring twice. Defender Terry Ryan was best for the Exiles and encouraged his side well and also scored his side's opener.

   JT Specials gave probably their best performance of the season but just came up short against the Dreamers who still have their 100% record. Dan Hegarty scored twice for the Specials and scored a brilliant goal from an almost impossible angle to put them 2-1 in front after 40 minutes. But the Dreamers have won some very tight games this season, but none closer than this, coming out 4-3 winners having come from 2-1 and 3-2 down to win another crucial 3 points. The Dreamers Keeper Dean Cummins was again key to their win having made some excellent stops. Rory Perry again showed how sharp he is in front of goal and scored his 2nd brace in 2 weeks.

   Mount Oval continued with their good form and beat the Cowboys 5-0. The Cowboys should take confidence from producing a lot of chances but need to show more of the same in finishing them off. Brian O Connell, Dave Hogan and Niall Murphy did the damage for Mount Oval.

Thursday Division 3

Panicyakios and the Boothouse Bingers both won and so stretched their lead at the top as 3rd placed Men Utd went down to Whitfords. Panicyakios were too strong for the Lemmons and look more like a division 2 side. The Bingers also look like they should be in the division above and demolished the Ball Busters 10-1. Darren Burns scored with a brilliant strike for the Busters for his side's only goal but it was the best of all eleven goals in this game. Cormac Manning and man of the match David James both scored hatricks for the Boothouse.

   Matt O’Connor scored 4 times for Panicyakios in their well organised and powerful display in their 8-2 win over the Lemmons. Eoin Savage and Paul Furlong were also excellent for Panicyakios, whose upcoming game versus the Boothouse on the 28th of November looks like being a title decider.

   Whitfords had a hard earned 7-6 win over Men Utd, but only just held on having lead 5-1 at halftime. United, led by Jason Lake brought it back to within a goal, but the Whitfords held on to the 3 points with Kevin O’Connell in outstanding form after a long lay off through injury. Gavin Rosser and Cameron Espey both scored a brace for Whitfords while Lake who pushed forward from defence was on the mark 3 times in the 2nd half comeback for Utd.

   Aidan Fenton was the best player on the pitch for the Flying Column as they beat the Mighty Reds 7-3. Fabrice Fortune opened the scoring with the games best goal for the Column who led 4-0 at the break. The Reds put in a much better shift in the 2nd period and and should take confidence from their 2 half display.

Powerful Ezy Roll On

Wednesday Division 1

The top 2 teams who both had 100% records after 6 wins in a row, went head to head last week in this crucial division one game. Ezy FC and The Baggios squared off in a most anticipated clash. The early exchanges were fairly even with both teams not committing too many players forward. The second half began nicely poised with the score tied 1-1 after 30 minutes. But in the 2^nd half Ezy FC produced an excellent team performance and showed how they have won 3 Footy titles in a row and eased into a 3 goal lead, with goals from Steve Dwyer, Andy O'Mahony and John Daly. EZY were stronger on the ball and never let a slick Baggios outfit get their passing game going. They Baggios responded after a Stephen O'Donovan rocket for his sides 2^nd but Dave Johnson sealed the valuable 3 points with a well taken 5^th Ezy goal. The powerful duo of Steve Dwyer and Peter Fitzmaurice stood out for the winners.

Fritzl Palace and Dynamo Tonduff drew 1-1 in a very closely contested game. Tonduff who are bottom of the table and are still without a win this season have been playing some excellent football in recent weeks, and a win should not be far away. They went into an early lead with a goal from Alan O'Leary after some good work from Alan Forde. Killian Lynch scored the deserved Palace 2^nd half equaliser.

AC Standard had a deserved 3-1 win over Deportivo. The scoreline would have been more but for the brilliant goalkeeping of Robbie Doyle who pulled off a string of excellent saves especially in the first half. Tim O'Connor was again excellent for AC and scored a brace with Niall Gannon their other scorer. Bernard Parkes replied for Deportivo who made a much better game of it in the 2^nd half after a poor start to the game.

Albino Leffe had their 2^nd win of the season with a fine 6-3 victory over Sliabh na mBan. Mark Kennefick (2) and Mick Dowd were on the mark for Albino but man of the match Damien Murphy's contribution was the difference between the 2 sides and he also scored a hatrick in the process. Joe McAulliffe and Ronan O'Sullivan were best for na mBan.

Wednesday Division 2

Both Schuff FC and Roco Risers both lost ground on the leaders Missing FC as they both had surprising defeats to both Rosies and Balaga Tongo respectively. Missing opened up a 5 point gap on 2^nd placed Roco, by beating the Angry Badgers rather easily. The Badgers had a good first half and were well in the game, but Paul Richardson and Jurgen Bukowski ran the show for Missing in the 2nd half and scored 5 goals between them. Sean Kind scored the only Badgers goal, in a 6-1 defeat.

A resurgent Rosies team had their best performance of the season when they overcame Schuff FC. They led 1-0 at the break and played on the counter attack very effectively in the 2^nd half when they ran in 3 more goals and without reply. The Portuguese duo of Daniel Freitas and Joao Oliveros are a welcome addition to their side. Colin Murphy was best for Rosies who also had the evergreen Shay Coleman in brilliant form.

Balaga Tongo also had an excellent 2-1 win over Roco Risers and showed they cannot be discounted in the running for honours in this division. Their dogged performance inspired by Damien Kennedy in goal, the stylish defending of Will O'Shea and the hard work of Eoghan Kennedy up front was enough to gain all 3 points for them. O'Shea scored the all important winner with a rather soft shot from 20 yards that should have been dealt with by the Risers defence.

Dreamers Set The Pace

Thursday Division 2

"The Alan Jordan Memorial Cup"

The Dreamers continued to set the pace in this division and maintain their their 100% record. They again had another 3-2 victory over the Booze Buddies, but only just hung on to the 3 points as they came under intense pressure from the Buddies in the last 10 minutes. Chris Hayes was their star man and scored a brace to keep them 2 points clear of Mount Oval who they beat by the same scoreline the previous week. Rory Perry, who was the late match winner against the Oval, was again on the mark for the Dreamers. Their young goalkeeper Dean Cummins deserves a lot of credit for keeping his side at the top after some fine displays between the sticks this season. Damien O'Leary and Kevin Wilmot weer on the mark for the Booze Buddies.

Mount Oval also won 3-2 to stay in touch with the leaders but were also hanging on as they were pushed all the way by a battling Dragons side. The Oval just about deserving of the narrow victory. Fit again Philip Healy was tops for the Oval and scored twice. Brian O'Connell was excellent in midfield for them as was their keeper Issac Farrell who made a crucially made an excellent last minute save to keep all 3 points.

The Sons of Pitches again showed how much they have improved since moving up a division as they beat the ever improving Cowboys. A 6-1 scoreline did not really reflect the game as the Cowboys only trailed 1-0 at the break. But the well organised and hard too break down Pitches team showed some clinical 2nd half finishing, through Eoin Barrett (2) Will O Brien, Alan O'Sullivan, Michael Deasy and Alan White. Darren Cronin was the lone Cowboy to score.

The JT Specials moved into 5th place in the table as they had too much for an understrength AC Exiles side. The stylish play of Rob Carpenter was very much to the fore as he scored 4 times for the Specials. Sean O'Neill was also a constant thorn for the Exiles defence and scored a brace.

Thursday Division 1

The Thirtysomethings continued their remarkable streak of high scoring draws, with another 4-4 draw with the Boca Seniors. This was their 6th draw in 7 matches and their 3rd 4-4 draw. They looked to have won it with a late Brian McLaughlin goal but conceded a last gasp equaliser to the Bocas scored by Eric Cotter.

The Net Busters moved into 2nd place with a fine victory over River Plate. Stephen Stromsoe was the star player on show here as he scored 6 times in a very one sided game.

Drink Team stay top after their 6-3 win over FC Copen Badly. Marcin Baranowski showed he is a top player and scored an impressive hatrick for the Polish boys.

Andrew Daunt and Shane Browne were best for Copen Badly.

Thursday Division 3

The Top 3 teams are moving clear of the chasing bunch in this division that should go down to the wire. Panicyakios, Boothouse Bingers, and Men Utd all won to stretch out in front of the Lemmons who are 6 points behind. The Boothouse beat the Flying Column 6-3 with Shane Cahill again their top player. Cahill scored a brace and was too quick in the midfield for the Column. Cormac Manning was also excellent for the Bingers and also scored a brace. Kieran Barry was best for the Column who were well in the game at 3-3 after 40 minutes, but ran out of steam as the game closed out.

Danny O'Driscoll was best for Men Utd as they beat the Lemmons 6-2. Some poor goalkeeping did not help the Lemmons cause but they battled very hard with only 6 players, but also ran out of steam towards the end. Craig Hayes and Niall Collins were best for the Lemmons.

Panicyakios maintained their title challenge with a narrow 2-1 win over the Whitfords. Matt O'Connor and Stephen Roche were on the mark for Panicyakios who should have won by more but for an outstanding display by keeper Jesper Peterson the Whitfords goal.

The Ball Busters were too physically strong for the Mighty Reds and ran out 8-2 winners. Both sides are in their first Footy season and are showing signs of improving. Seamus Slattery scored a hatrick for the East Cork lads who are settling better than the Reds.

Culloty Breaks Albino Hearts

Wednesday Division 1

A Joe Culloty strike right at the full time whistle for Fritzl Palace settled this pulsating clash with Albino Leffe with Palace winning 4-3. Both he and Mike Wren, who opened the scoring with a wonderful left foot volley, were Palace's best players on the night in a game that was end to end for the hour. Peter Kelleher and Eanna O Braoanin were tops for Albino Leffe who were desperately unlucky to come away with nothing after an excellent performance.

After 5 weeks it looks like a 2 horse race in this division with Baggios and Ezy Fc well clear of the chasing bunch. Both teams again maintained their 100% record with wins over AC Standard and Deportivo respectively.

Baggios had it a bit tougher in their game against AC Standard who again had Tim O Connor in top form and scoring a hatrick for the losing side as they went down 5-3. Ben Ryan was best for the Baggios and he scored along with Wayne O Callaghan, Darragh O Regan and Aaron Atkinson (2)

Ezy FC were better in all departments over Deportivo, winning comfortably by an 8-2 scoreline. The very lively John Daly was again Ezy's top player and scored half of their tally. Andy O'Mahony showed his strength up front for Ezy and also scored a hatrick. John O'Brien scored both Deportivo's consultation goals.

Dynamo Tonduff and Slaibh na mBan also played out a very entertaining game, that seemed a lot closer than the eventual 5-0 scoreline that went in Sliabh's favour. They welcomed back Paul Tierney to their side, a move that proved to be the difference between the sides as he controlled the midfield as well as scoring with 2 long range strike. The evergreen John Browne rolled back the years and worked tirelessely in midfield for Slaibh na mBan as they ran away the points in the 2^nd half after they led 1-0 at the break. Tommy Dunne also worked hard for a well organised na mBan team, while Dave Murphy was best for Tonduff.

Wednesday Division 2

This division saw all teams play 2 games last week also playing on Monday evening.

Andrew “Dogzy” Dorgan was star man for Roco Risers as he struck an incredible 7 times for his side in their 11-3 demolition of the Angry Badgers. He showed some class finishing and now leads the Golden Boot race with 13 goals after 6 weeks in this league. Mark Murphy and Ryan O'Brien were Roco's other top players who were 2-0 down after 10 minutes. Mike Holland and Cathal Cormack were also on the score sheet for the league leaders. Dave O'Donovan and John Owens (2) were the Badgers hitmen.

Schuff FC lost ground on the leaders as they went down 4-3 to a determined Balaga Tongo side. This tie was also decided by a very late strike from Eoin Hayes who popped up with his 2^nd of the evening to clinch an important 3 points for Balaga. They had Conor McDowell to thank for some excellent saves to keep them in the game. Eoin Kennedy was a live wire up front for Balaga and was always a threat to the Schuff defence. Kevin Fitzgerald, Darren Lynch and Seamus Forde were all on the mark for Schuff, who also had Aidan McGuinness in fine form.

Missing FC stayed in touch and are a point behind the leaders after a 5-0 walkover against Rosies, after they drew 4-4 in a brilliant game with Schuff FC on Monday evening. Schuff conceded a late penalty which Jurgen Bukowski dispatched to complete his hatrick and an impressive comeback after Schuff had raced into a 3 nil lead. The excellent Darren Lynch also hit a hatrick for Schuff who crucially conceded 2 very late goals this week that may cost them dearly as the season progresses.

River Plate Topple Drink Team

Thursday Division 1

River Plate served up Drink Teams first defeat of the season with a fine 5-2 win over the Polish lads. Luke Noonan was star man for the Carrigaline lads in this very intense clash that only saw River Plate pull away in the last 10 minutes. Danny Meade scored with a low thunderbolt that proved to be the all important goal to go in front after the sides were tied 2-2 at the break.

This defeat to Drink Team opens up this division again and it looks like it could go down to the wire with a lot of teams very evenly matched.

Thirty Somethings continued their drawing streak and drew their 4^th game in a row, this time after another 4-4 draw with FC Copen Badly. The Somethings should have closed out their first 3 points with the win but let a 4-1 lead slip in the closing 5 minutes. Peter Carroll scored the all important late equaliser for Copen Badly to secure their first point of the season.

Boca Seniors stayed in touch of the leaders with an excellent 3-2 win over the Net Busters. Dave Fleming was excellent in defence for Bocas and popped up with the winner for his side who endured some late pressure from the Net Busters but hung on for the win thanks to some excellent defending from Fleming and Aidan Murphy. A late sin bin for the Net Busters did not help their pursuit of an equaliser.

Thursdsay Division 2

Mount Oval continued their good form and are having their best season yet after a comprehensive 5-1 win over the JT Specials. The Specials were missing their main threat up front in Dan Hegarty who starred for Castlehaven in the County Final last Sunday. Dave Hogan was best for Oval and scored a hatrick. Brian O Connell and Niall Murphy have steadied the Oval ship this season and both looked very strong in midfield. Neil Gordon was again the Specials lone goalscorer.

The Dreamers continued their 100% record with a comfortable win over the Cowboys.

The Dreamers stay ahead of Mount Oval on goal difference after 4 games, and next weeks fixtures sees them go head to head. They played on the counter very effectively and scored several of their goals on the break with Dave Linnane benefiting most from this as he notched a hatrick for the winners with Dreamers Dean Cummins getting the man of the match.

The Dragons dug out their 2^nd 3-2 win of the season after a tough encounter with AC Exiles.

A late winner against the run of play saw them steal the points when they had on 6 players after a late yellow card. Jermey Delea was the best player on the pitch and was unlucky to be on the losing side. The reliable Rory Walsh was best for the Dragons and scored a brace.

The Sons of Pitches continued their excellent season with another fine 3-0 win over the Booze Buddies. Eoin Barrett proved a real handful at centre forward for the Booze Buddies, where he held up the ball very well and assisted in 2 of his sides goals. Michael Deasy, William O'Brien and Alan O'Sullivan were all on the mark for this hard working Pitches side.

Thursday Division 3

The new look Lemmons side had another good win, this time over the Ball Busters. The East Cork lads (Ball Busters) came back well in the 2^nd half after they trailed 6-1 at the break, but left themselves too much to do, and the Lemmons hung on for the win. Veteran Brothers Denis and Niall Collins scored a brace a piece as did Dean Long for the Lemmons who had goalkeeper Denis Cronin in fine form between the posts. Seamus Slattery and Finbarr Browne worked hard for the East Cork lads.

2nd placed Men Utd were far too strong for The Mighty Reds and look like they will be contenders this season. They totally outplayed the Reds with John O'Brien scoring 5 times and Jason Lake in top form at the back for Utd

Panicyakios drew 4-4 with the Boothouse Bingers to remain top of the league. The Binger's Tom Meade coming up with the all important 2^nd half equaliser after Panic led 4-3 at the break.

Owen Savage was best for Panicakios and looks like he will be a key player for them this season. Both he and James Daly scored a brace a piece, while Cormac Manning did likewise for the Bingers.

The Whitfords had their first win of the season and a comprehensive one it was as well. A 4-0 win over the Flying Column in a game that saw two very experienced sides go up against each other. Stuart Howard scored the game's best goal and his 2^nd after a fine solo run, where he rounded the keeper to tap the ball in the net.

The Column battled hard as usual, but the Whitfords showed more composure while they were in possession of the ball and thus created more chances. Cameron Espey and Jack Russell were also excellent for the Whitfords.
