Bocas Crowned Division 2 Champions

Division 2
Boca Seniors took the division 2 title which went down to the last series of games. The Chancers who were in 2nd place went into the last week with a chance of winning the league but needed a favour from Unreal Madrid to upset Boca Seniors, and win their own clash against the Dragons. Neither of these scenarios worked out as Bocas convincingly beat an under strength Madrid side 6-2. While the Chancers also came up short and were beaten 2-1 by a resurgent Dragons side. Tony Hennessy scored a brace for Bocas while Eric Cotter was best for the Champions on the night as they did well and came from a goal down. The Dragons who have been very inconsistent this season mainly due to fielding a different side almost every week, gave their best display of the season to stifle the Chancers. Tim O Callaghan and Rory Walsh were best for the Dragons while O'Callaghan and Fiachra O'Driscoll scored their goals. Gavin O'Driscoll bagged his golden boot award with an excellent volley and his 25th goal of the season for the Chancers.
The JT Specials were inspired by MVP winner Dan Hegarty who scored their 2 goals in their 2-1 win over Mount Oval. The Specials who struggled early in the season with the added pressure of moving to division 2 after several years in division 3, settled very well in the last few weeks and played some decent football. Mount Oval will also need to find a consistent team next time out as too many changes in their weekly line up has also affected their position.

Division 3
The Sons of Pitches who took the title with a week to spare, beat the Lemmons 5-4 in a very exciting game to close out the Summer season. The Lemmons looked a beaten side came back from 5-2 down to almost snatch a draw from the Champions. MVP nominees Michael Deasy and Alan O Sullivan were again best for the Pitches while Justin Banks and Cormac Murphy were best for the Lemmons.
Stuart Howard starred for the Whitfords as they beat Men Utd 6-2. Howard showed some sensational finishing as he scored 5 times for his side. This victory was even more impressive as this aging Whitfords team played with only 6 players, but used the counter attacking game to great effect.
2nd placed Balaga Tonga won their last game with a hard fought 2-1 win over the Nobodys. Josh King and Eoin Hayes scored for Balaga while Barry Clinton replied for the losers.

Division 1
Ezy FC have now dominated this top league for 3 seasons. This side was astutely managed by Shane Browne this season, who got his sides tactics right for the big games this season. The dynamic energy of John Daly in the Ezy midfield proved pivotal for them and he deservedly picked up the MVP award. Dave Johnson who played as a very effective holding center forward for the season also played a major role as did the powerful duo of Steve Dwyer and Peter Fitzmaurice. Goalkeeper Justin Banks and Paul Smith Lyons also had impressive seasons for the Champions who had many players in double figures in the goalscoring chart.

Joga Bonito overcame the Red Shirts 6-3 in an entertaining game with the game highlight being a wonderful chip by Daniel Freitas from 45 yards for the last kick of the game. Brian Lyons and Killian Boland were excellent for the Red Shirts but came up short against Bonito whose side was high on skill level and showed some lovely touches and passing moves.
