Sons of Pitches Narrow The Gap

Wednesday Division 3
Sons of Pitches defeated Substandard Liege in a thriller 4-3 during which Tony O Donovan scored for Substandard direct from the kick off. The Sons of Pitches recovered and with Gerry O Reilly and Stephen Crowley in top form they moved to within a point of division leaders O Donovan Electrical.
Table Toppers, O Donovan Electric were defeated by Fritzl Palace 3-2 in a very entertaining match, but maintain a one point lead over their rivals Sons of pitches with two matches left. Daniel Gallagher’s and Killian Lynch’s goals put Palace 2-0 at the break. O Donovan’s didn’t concede without a fight, but in the end Palace held on for a 3-2 win.
The high light of a hard fought match between BNYM and The Average Joes was a cracking 20 yard drive by John O Donovan of The Average Joes to back of the net. The Joes won the encounter 5-2 with Vojtec getting the man of the match nod.

Thursday Division 2
The Chancers opened up a three point gap at the top of the division when they defeated Panicyakos 4-2. However, The Chancers didn’t have it all their own way. Panicyakos led early in the match when they scored two good goals through Seamus O Brien, from a free kick and Cuneyt Kahraman.
The Whitfords put a huge dent in CPL FCs title aspirations. Bertie Bateman was very impressive for The Whitfords and scored some marvellous goals for his team during their 4-1 victory. His second was a gem during which he and Cameron Espey combined superbly.
John Deveraux and Sean Tobin of BNY tormented The JT Special defence during an encounter which BNY won with plenty to spare.
South City got off to a great start in their match against Apple Exiles and raced into a 3-0 lead. However, Apple with Mark Ryan outstanding, slowly got the measure of their opponents and were ahead by half time, Apple eventually won the encounter comfortably.

Thursday Division 1
The All Blacks and The Ex Pats were deadlocked at 2-2 when The All Blacks goal keeper made a fantastic double save. The Ex Pats counter attacked from the rebound and scored the winner when Bill Henry superbly finished the move to win 3-2,
The Known Quantities continued their great run of victories with a comprehensive win against Athletico PTF. The high light of this encounter was the goal scored by Gordon Lynch from the half way line.
The Thirtysomethings had an impressive 7-4 win against an under strength Os Navegantes. Paulo Santos was again outstanding for the Portuguese lads and contributed two of his team’s scores. Graham Virgo and Luca Gastoldi scored a brace a piece for The Thirtys.

Wednesday Division 2
Far From Athletic kept the pressure on douglasmortgage.ie when they scored a very narrow win against Dynamo Tonduff. With the score tied a 1-1 in the dying minutes Tonduff hit the post from a powerful Dave Murphy strike. Aaron Atkinson scored for Far From from the ensuing counter attack to afford his team a 3-2 win.
Even though Hit and Miss were 1-0 ahead of douglasmortgage.ie at half time, they should have had a much lager lead considering their total domination. Douglas improved in the second period and the score was 1-1 entering the final ten minutes. However Hit and Miss imploded in the final minutes and lost the match 5-1.

Wednesday Division 1
Crofton employed counter attacking tactics to defeat Racing 6-2 in a match during which Racing had most of the possession. Stephen Crowley notched a hat trick for the winners while Leonard Murphy scored twice.
Call Daly was on song for Novartis during their 5-1 defeat of Nualight.
The Temple Inn fought bravely against The Kids and were ahead 4-3 early in the second half. However the class of The Kids eventually bore fruit and they went on to win 8-4.

CPL, Chancers Remain Joint Top



Thursday Division 2
Even though The Chancers dominated possession and had most of the goal scoring opportunities against CPL, their half time lead was the minimum. This was mainly due to the goal keeping exploits of Donal Flanagan. CPL increased their work rate and intensity in the second half and drew level when Donal Mulvahil scored an excellent goal. The final score was 2-2 and the teams remain dead locked at the top of the table.
The Apple Exiles, JT Specials was an excellent match which was decided by a great goal scored by Kieran Crowley for The Specials. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the JT Specials.
Colin Deevey notched a hat trick for BNYM FC against a spirited South City. Despite scoring a brace for South City Kieran McGuire was on the wrong side of a 6-3 defeat.
Panicyakos returned to winning waya when they defeated The Whitfords in a great game which was decided by a breakaway goal with five minutes remaining. Liam Kileen scored twice for the winners while Cameron Espey and Gavin Roser were on the mark for The Whitfords.


Thursday Division 1
The top of the table clash between The Thirtysomethings and The Known Quantities was an outstanding match. The Knowns edged ahead twice early in the encounter only to be hauled back almost immediately by The Thirtys. Gordon Lynch s cheeky goal direct from the kick off seemed to spur the Knowns on again and they went on to win 5-3. New comer Ben Duntan was exceptional for the Knowns.
The Ex Pats Athletic, Athletico PTF encounter was deadlocked at 0-0 until Tim O Connor scored a powerful header to give The Pats the advantage at half time. Tim scored a second mid way through the second period to secure the points for his team.
Os Navegantes defeated The All Blacks 6-4 in a very entertaining match, the result of which was in doubt until Man of the match Paulo settled the affair with his fourth goal in the dying seconds.
It looked like Navegantes would run riot when they ran into a four goal lead.. However The All Blacks got to within one of the Portuguese before Paulo scuppered the come back at the death.


Wednesday Division 1
Crofton defeated league leaders The Kids in a thrilling encounter during which the Crofton keeper was the man of the match. Three point blank saves and a brilliantly executed free kick by Paul Tierney helped Crofton to 2-0 half time lead. Even though The Kids dominated possession in the second period Crofton were the more likely team to score and when they increased their lead to three it looked like they had secured the win. However The Kids never conceded and when they scored two late goals a magnificent comeback was a huge possibility. Crofton held out for a deserved win and narrowed the gap between them and the Kids to three points.
Racing had a fine win 6-3 against an improving Nualight. The twin strike force of Padraig McGovern and Gordon Lynch were deadly for Racing and between them they scored four goals.
Temple Inn had a comprehensive win against Novartis. Rory Perry inflicted most of the damage with four goals.

Wednesday Division 2
Douglasmortgage.ie maintained their four point advantage at the top of the table after a comfortable 5-1 win against Dynamo Tonduff. The high light of this fixtures was the super individual goal scored by Ed Quirke for the winners.
Far From Athletic got off to a perfect start against Hit and Miss when Mark O Callaghan scored in the first minute. Far From played a super passing style and won the match 5-2.

Wednesday Division 3
The Average Joes were winning 2-0 against title challengers Sons of Pitches half way through the first half. However as the match progressed the quality of the Pitches soccer began to show. The Pitches had recovered the deficit with fifteen minutes to play but the battling spirit of The Joes enabled them to hold out for a draw.
O Donovan Electrical had a fine 4-1 win against The Hot Shots to stretch their lead at the top of the tabl., The high light of the match was the super volley scored by Trevor Deady for the winners.

Knowns win Top Of Table Clash

Thursday Division 1
The top of the table clash between The Knowns and Os Navegantes was a thriller during which both teams played brilliant football. Gordon Lynch edged The knowns ahead just before half time.  Helio, who was the man of the match scored for The Portuguese lads with a spectacular drive to level the scores before Padraig McGovern scored the winner for The Knowns and put them in prime position before the last few matches.
The Ex Pats had the worst possible start to their encounter with the Thirtysomethings when they conceded two goals in the first four minutes. However the spectacular goal scored by Bill Henry for The Pats made their evening worthwhile. The final score was 4-1 in favor of The Thirtysomethings.
Dave Dupuis was in top for The All Blacks during their encounter with Athletico PTF and contributed four of his teams goals. Jonathan O Callaghan also notched three for The Mount Oval lads during their 7-3 win.

Thursday Division 2
CPL FC maintained their challenge for division honors with a 6-3 win against Apple exiles. John Stringer and Donal Mulvahil impressed for the winners while Mark Ryan notched a brace for Apple.
Cameron Espey maintained his excellent scoring rate when he scored a fine hat trick against South City for The Whitfords. The Whitfords won this fixture comprehensively.
Philip Carey was too hot for The Panicyakos defense during their match against BNYM. Carey scored four good goals for BNYM. Panicyakos will be disappointed with this result having fared so well in recent weeks against the top teams in the division.

Wednesday Division 3
James Mealy and James McDonald were in great form for Substandard Liege during their encounter against The Hot Shots and scored three and two goals respectively. The pick of these was the volley by James Mealy with his right having set it up with his left foot.
O Donovan Electric maintained their slender lead at the top of the table when they defeated BNY 4-3 in a thrilling contest. Damien Kingston was outstanding for the winners while Jonathan Deveraux and Frank Carley caught the eye for BNY.

Wednesday Division 2
United scored a very impressive 5-2 win against Hit And Miss who had been on a great run of wins up to this week. Finbar Harrington was very impressive and scored a brace for the winners and was the difference between the sides.
Douglas Mortgage maintained their advantage at the summit of the division with a comprehensive win against The B69ers. Albert Hobbs and Ed Quirke notch a couple a piece for Douglas.
Far From Athletic raced into a 3-0 lead in the first twelve minutes against Balaga Tongo. However The Africans fought back valiantly but the three goals that they scored was matched by another three for Far From which resulted in a 6-3 win for Far From.
Dynamo Tonduff scored a well deserved 3-2 win against Mercer who seemed to have lost their way in recent weeks. Dave Murphy and Philip Brennan were particularly effective for Tonduff in what was a great all round team performance.

Wednesday Division 1
Leonard Murphy and Alan Forde scored two outstanding goals for Crofton in the first half during their encounter with The Temple Inn to give their team a 2-0 half time lead. Temple played much better in the second half but couldn’t recover the deficit. The final score was a 3-1 win for Crofton.
Gordon lynch and Padraig McGovern of Racing scored four and three respectively against Novartis in a one sided affair.
Despite being on the wrong side of a 5-2 defeat Nualight were outstanding against The kids. They were orgainised and disciplined in defense and always threatened in attack. They held the kids scoreless in the first half and it was only when they began to tire in the second period that the kids found the space to exploit.

Ex Pats Defeat League Leaders

Thursday Division 1
The Ex Pats produced a type of performance that won them great glory in the recent past when they defeated Os Navegantes 5-4. The Pats hit the Portuguese lads hard and early when they scored four unanswered goals in the first fifteen minutes. As the match proceeded Navegantes clawed their way back into contention. However the passion and work rate of The Pats got them over the line for an unlikely win.
Rob Healy scored an excellent early goal for The All Blacks against The known Quantities. However his teams early momentum was undone when they conceded an own goal. Padraig McGovern scored a second half brace to seal the win for The Knowns.
The Thirtysomethings had a hard fought win against Athletico PTF to keep the pressure on their division rivals. Eoin Barrett and Ken Power were always a threat for Athletico but The Thirtys were just too strong.

Thursday Division 2
Sam Russell scored a tremendous goal in the last minute for The Whitfords against JT Specials to break the deadlock and earn his team the points. The final score was 1-0.
Cian Fleming scored two goals and was the man of the match for BNYM against CPL FC. This was the best performance in a while by BNYM who defeated the league leaders 3-1.
Panicyaikos continued their fine run of form when they defeated The Apple Exiles 1-0. Kieran McCarthy notched the only goal after 23 minutes with a well taken score.
Adam Clinton scored four goals for The Chancers during their comprehensive win against South City.

Wednesday Division 2
A much improved B69ers gave title challengers Far From Athletic a run for their money. The 69ers were in contention until the final quarter, but eventually the energy and conditioning of youth helped Far From to emerge on the right side of the 6-4 score.
Ian Ryan was the hero for Douglasmortgage.ie when he made a string of super saves to earn his side the points in a thrilling encounter with Balaga Tongo. Carl Daly and Jim Walsh netted for Douglas while Joe Dempsey responded for Balaga.
Brendan Ryan scored two marvelous goals for Mercer during their encounter with Hit and Miss. However this wasn’t enough to defeat an impressive H and M for whom Joady Sinott notched a hat trick.
Dynamo Tonduff had a hard fought, but deserved 3-1 win against United. Dave Murphy, Philip Brennan and Chris Hayes were on the mark for Tonduff while Paul Richardson replied for United.
  
Wednesday Division 3
It looked like Substandard Liege would annihilate Fritzl Palace when they stormed into an early four goal lead. However Palace managed to steady the ship and pulled two back before the break. Incredibly, Palace went on to win 8-7. Sean Tobin contributed 5 of the winners total.
O Donovan Electrical moved into top spot when they defeated title rivals Sons of Pitches 3-1 in a top of the table clash. The high light of this encounter was a marvelous individual goal scored by ex QEF player Danny Meade for the winners.
The Hot Shots had a comprehensive win against The Average Joes during which the high light was an amazing goal scored by Eoin O Callaghan.

Wednesday Division 1
Crofton continued their winning streak with a comprehensive win against Novartis. Paul Tierney scored three for the winners.
Despite trailing by two goals to Racing Club entering the last ten minutes, The Kids didn’t panic. They kept playing their normal fluid passing game. Incredibly, they notched three goals in this period, the last of which was scored by Oisin McGrath with the last kick of the match.
The Nualight, Temple Inn encounter was a thriller during which four outstanding goals were shared evenly by the teams. However, the best of these was the goal scored by Niall O Connor for Temple after some intriquet passing between him and Andy O Mahony.

Far From, douglasmortgage.ie Draw

Wednesday Division 2
The top of the table clash between Far From Athletic and douglasmortgage.ie was a thrilling encounter that resulted in a 3-3 draw. However if it wasn’t for an incredible save by Daragh O Regan for Far From in the last minute, douglasmortgage would have extended their lead at the top of the table. Even though Douglas dominated possession Far From were very dangerous on the counter attack. All in all a draw was a fair result.
Mercer won an enthralling encounter against United on a 3-2 score line to stay in the title hunt. The high light of the match was the marvelous volley scored by Thomas Morgan which was set up by a Brendan Ryan back heel.
Balaga Tongo were too strong for The B69ers in a contest in which former Ma Duleas player Philip Cotter was outstanding. Philip scored a hat trick, the best of which was a volley from about 15 meters.
Defender Noel Murphy was outstanding for Hit and Miss against Dynamo Tonduff. As well as marshaling the defense he showed the forwards how to score when he notched a brace of goals to help his team to a 4-2 win

Wednesday Division 1
Pat O Regan scored two humdingers in the first half for Racing Club to give his team a 2-1 half time lead against The Temple Inn. However the power and speed of The Ballintemple side came to the fore in the second period when they blitzed their opponents with 7 fine goals and went on to win 8-5.
Crofton stretched their recent winning streak when they had a comprehensive win against Nua Light. The high light of this match was the superb individual goal scored by Kieran Buckley during which he glided past four opponents before calmly slotting the ball past the keeper.
Brian Wise was the man of the match for the kids during their match against Novartis which they won 4-1.

Wednesday Division 3
The Hot Shots finally registered a win when they defeated Fritzl Palace 7-4. After an evenly fought first half which finish 3-3 it was the Hot Shots who dominated in the second during which Anthony Dunne scored three.
The Sons of Pitches maintained their stranglehold on the division title race when they recorded a 3-0 win against BNY FC. Alan Forde scored twice while Mick Hurley was the man of the match.
 The Average Joes and Substandard Liege played a thriller which was just edged by The Joes. Wojtec scored four for the Joes. This defeat put a serious dent in Substandards Championship aspirations.

Thursday Division 1
The Thirtysomethings shot into an early 2-0 lead against The All Blacks but found themselves trailing by two entering the last quarter. However a late rally with goals by Luca and Niall Kerrigan earned The Magpies a draw.
Paulo was outstanding for Os Navegantes during their contest with Athletico PTF. The tall centre forward scored five goals to break Athleticos hearts and help his team to a comprehensive win.
The Ex Pats recovered an early two goal deficit only to concede on the stroke of half time in their match against The Known Quantities. However The Known’s dominated the second period and recorded a 5-2 win.

Thursday Division 2
Seamus O Brien earned Paniciakos a precious point in the last minute with a headed goal against league leaders FC CPL. CPL were two goals ahead with ten minutes remaining before Paniciakos staged an unlikely late comeback.
The shock of the week was the 4-3 win for The Whitfords against The Chancers. The Whitfords trailed by two goals entering the final twenty minutes however when Cameron Espey equalized and Bertie Bateman scored the winner with two minutes remaining there was no time left for The Chancers to reply.
Colin Deevey scored in the last minutes to earn BNYM a deserved 4-4 draw with Apple Exiles. This match was a thriller during which the lead was swapped a number of times. Colin Deevey and Felim Barry scored a brace a piece for their respective teams.
The South City and JT Specials encounter ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Phil O Dea was on the mark for South City while Murty scored for The Specials.

Douglasmortgage.ie Win Top Of Table Clash

Wednesday Division 2
Game of the night was a top of the table clash between Mercer & Douglas Mortgage. The Douglas boys came out on top when they scored a very late Brendan O’Sullivan goal to seal a 4-3 win. This clash was an intense affair, but the classy skills of Adrian O’Shea in midfield for the winners was the highlight. Tom Morgan and Brendan Ryan tried hardest for Mercer.
Far From Athletic were too strong for United, but had to recover from an early two goal deficit. Wayne O Callaghan, Aaron Atkinson and Pat O’ Regan were all impressive for Far From as was Damien Morrison for United.
Hit & Miss stayed in contention in Division 2 with 6-2 win over Balaga Tonga. A brace in each half by the excellent Paul O’Leary was the difference between the sides.
The B69ers made an excellent comeback after being 5-1 down against dynamo Tonduff, only to concede a late goal while chasing  the equaliser. Dave Murphy and Chris Hayes scored a brace a piece for Tonduff

Wednesday Division 1
The Kids continued their winning ways with a 7-3 victory over Temple Inn. Eoghan Murphy was again in top form for the winners and bagged a hat trick. Kids newcomer Kenny Barry scored the goal of the evening with a diving header at a crucial time just when Temple were coming into the game.
Nualight FC came back from 3-1 deficit to earn a share of the spoils with Novartis in a great game. Alan O’Sullivan scored a screamer in the last minute for the Bishopstown based outfit. Barry O Sullivan was excellent for Novartis.
F.C Crofton got back on track with a fine win over Racing Club. The excellent passing of the Crofton lads, especially Paul Tierney in midfield and the suberb finishing of Lenny Murphy was a feature of this game. Stephen Kenny stood out for Racing Club.

Wednesday Division 3
The very organised Average Joes overcame The Castlemarytrs by the odd goal. The Martyrs took a while to settle in the encounter and found them selves chasing two early goals. However they recovered well and the second half was a very close affair. The Joes won 3-2. The evergreen pair of Joe O’Sullivan and Darren Geaney were on the score sheet for the Joes.
Danny Meade was in top form for O’Donovan Electrical who had a 6-5 victory over table toppers Sub Standard Liege. This closely fought encounter was sealed with an excellent low strike by Bernard Parks with 2 minutes to go. Patrick Coleman and James Mealey were best for the Bishopstown boys who were guilty of missing some easy 2nd half chances. This result opens up this division.
BNY FC overcame the Hotshots after trailing 2-1 at the break. The Bankers scored 6 unanswered 2nd half goals. Jonathan Devaeaux was excellent for the victors while Finbarr O’Leary scored both goals for the Hotshots.

Thursday Division 1
Paulo Santos scored a dramatic late winner for OS Naventages who defeated The Thirtysomethings by 2-1. This was a great match with plenty of skill on display and great passing movements produced by both sides. Jake McAulliffe scored a deserved equaliser for the Thirty Somethings after they dominated possession in the 2nd half. They were a little unlucky to concede the late winner.
Another cracking game was the Athletic PTF and Known Quantities game that resulted in a 4-4 draw. Gordon Lynch equalised for the Passage lads when he scored a stunning free kick with the last kick of the game. Chris Dennehy bagged 2 goals for PTF.
Excellent goalkeeping from goalkeeper Robert Cole saved the Ex Pats from a drubbing from the All Blacks. Dave Donnelly and Paul Richardson played some nice football for the Blacks.

Thursday Division 2
The Chancers stayed in contention with a 6-2 win over The Apple Exiles. An excellent all round team performance was topped off with David Daly scoring 4 goals.
Leaders CPL defeated a game JT Specials team who produced a fighting performance but were on the wrong end of the 5-1 scoreline.
Man of the match Liam Killeen scored twice for Panicyaikos as they beat South City. This game was close until the last ten minutes when the Barrack Street lads conceded 3 late goals.
Paul Creedon scored a spectacular volley just before half time for BNYM FCm, which helped them to a 2-0 half against Whitfords. Jack Russell and Cameron Esprey fought hard for Whitfords in the 2nd period but finally lost out to BNY on a 3-1 scoreline.

Thirtysomethings Get Revenge

Thursday Division 1
The top of the table clash between The Known Quantities and The Thirtysomethings was a thriller.  The Thirtysomethings were hoping to avenge their defeat at the hands of The Passage lads in the decider last season. The teams were deadlocked at two each entering the last five minutes. During this period both sides had good opertunities , however it was The Thirtysomethings who managed to score the decisive goal when Shane O Donoghue scored with a fine strike.
Os Navegantes continued their great run of victories with another polished performance and win against an under strength All Blacks.  Paulo was superb for The Portuguese lads and scored a great hat trick.
Ricky Fleming was outstanding for Athletico PTF against a hung over Ex Pats Athletic. Ricky and Ken O Connor scored a brace a piece for the winners.

Thursday Division 2
The Whitfords, Apple Exiles match was a close and competitive affair in the first half. The score at the break was 1-0 in favour of The Whitfords. However, Cameron Espey took control of the encounter in the second period and scored five goals to ensure a comprehensive win for the Whitfords.
The David Daly, Kevin Wilmot combination was magnificent for The Chancers against BNYM. The pair scored an amazing eight goals. Phil Carey notched a brace for BNYM.
A very under strength JT Specials did very well to limit Panicyakos to six goals.
Alan Jordan scored four goals for FC CPL during their comprehensive win against South City.

Wednesday Division 2
When William Rotte scored his second goal for Balaga Tongo to equalise against Dynamo Tonduff early in the second half all of the momentum was with Balaga. However it was Chris Hayes of Tonduff who scored the next goal to help his team to a 6-2 victory.
Eoin Lawler scored for Mercer in the last minute during their encounter with Far From Athletic to snatch a 3-3 draw for The South Terrace outfit. This was an enthralling match during which the teams swapped lead a number of times and during which both sides had numerous goal opportunities.
It looked like United might upset the league leaders, douglasmortgage.ie when they came within a goal of Douglas early in the second half, having conceded an early hat trick to Brendan Spillane. However Ed Quirke scuppered their plans when he scored a late hat trick for Douglas.
Chris Irwin scored an incredible seven goals for Hit and Miss against an under strength B69ers.

Wednesday Division 3
John Arnold pulled off an amazing last minute save for BNY to deny Fritzl Palace a late winner in a great match that finished 2-2. Mike Wren was outstanding for Fritzl while Frank Carley and Anthony Fulliganati scored for BNY.
Danny Meade was outstanding for O Donovan Electric in their 3-1 against Average Joes. The high light of the match was a beautiful back heeled goal scored by Declan Dwyer for the winners.
An under strength Castlemartyres refused to concede victory to a very strong Substandard Liege. However as the second half preceded the extra player helped Substandard to dominate and they went on to win 8-4
Sons of Pitches remained undefeated when they comfortably defeated The Hot Shots.

Wednesday Division 1
In spite of a late rally by Nualight, Racing Club held on to win comfortably in a match that finished 8-5 in favour of Racing. Stephen Kenny of Racing was outstanding.
When Crofton pegged the Kids back to one goal with five minutes remaining it looked like a surprise was on the cards. However The Kids held out to win 5-4. Eoghan Murphy notched three for the winners.
