Apple Go Top

Thursday Division 2
Apple Exiles had a great 3-0 win over Net Busters to go top of this division and now look favourites for the title with round 1 of games completed. This game was tight and 2 goals from Jarrin Kooperman helped seal the win for the Exiles, one of which was a brilliant effort after he had intercepted a short free kick and ran the full length of the pitch, rounding the keeper before slotting the ball home.
Brian Fleming was in top form for Athletico PTF as they cruised to a 7-1 win over the Barrack Rats. He scored an impressive 4 goals in this one sided game. After 5 weeks this division looks like it will be a 3 horse race between the Exiles, PTF and Net Busters.

Thursday Division 1
The 30 Somethings maintained their 100% record after another closely fought win over the Sporting CPL. Graham Virgo was brilliant for the Somethings and scored twice including the winner. Luca scored their other goal. Rory Walsh worked hard in midfield for CPL and was also on the score sheet, before Virgo popped up with a late winner.
The much organised Ex Pats impressively beat the All Blacks 4-1, with the dependable Tim O Connor scoring a hatrick. The All Blacks who are hot and cold this season, were definitely below par this week.
Ezy FC easily beat the Knowns Quantities to stay in with a shout in this division. Steve Dwyer and John Daly goals stood out as they were impressive long distance strikes. The Knowns are struggling to get off the mark in this very high standard division.

Thursday Division 3
A cracking strike from Alan Mullery helped seal the points for the Flying Column as they beat the JT Specials 2-0. The Specials battled hard but the Column always looked in control. Ciaren McArtan scored their opener.
Man of the Match Eoin Lawlor and Michael Brett were best for Panicakios as the hammered Men Utd to go top of division 3. Panicakios were all together too strong for their opponents, and were first to the ball from early on in the game and raced into an early lead.
The other 2 ties in this division both finished in 2-2 draws. Jay Sheehan came up with a deserved last minute equaliser for The Sons of Pitches to deny South City a win. Cameron Espey scored a brace for Whitfords in their draw with the B69ers. Dave McCool and Tom O Brien replied for the Niners.
