The Average
Joes gave their best performance of the season when they beat the Inbetweeners
5-3 having come back from being 2 nil down. Joe O’Sullivan was in inspiring
form as he played in goal in the first half and produced some outstanding saves
that kept the Joe’s in the game. He then switched to centre forward for the 2nd
half and scored 4 times. The experienced John O Donovan was also in excellent
form for the Joe’s.
2nd
placed Rosies continued their good season as they outplayed Crystal Fallace and
now look forward to their clash with Palace next week. A tie which could decide
where the title ends up.

Colin Gurhy sealed the division 3 title for M&P
O’Sullivans for their 2nd title in a row with a late strike to win a
close contest against FC Coping Badly. O’Sullivans showed true grit as they
played most of the 2nd half with only 6 players after a red card.
Gavin Ahern was man of the match and was excellent for O’Sullivans when they
went a man down. The dependable Jay Nixon was again among the goals and scored
a brace. Stuart DePuis also scored twice for Coping Badly.
2nd placed Dynamo Tonduff and bottom of the
table Kurtz Wallopers played out an entertaining 3-3 draw. A beautiful late
strike from James Harding gave the Wallopers a deserved share of the spoils.
Dave Murphy was again excellent for Tonduff.
Liam Hennessy was star man for the Baggios as he
scored 4 times and helped seal the points against Real Soso Bad, who were a
little unlucky to lose this pulsating tie despite an excellent performance from
Stephen O’Riordain. This game was 0-0 at half time and then defences opened in
the 2nd half as teams got tired. Baggios scoring 5 of the 8, 2nd
half goals.

The Cuban
Priests all but sealed division 2, with an impressive display against Nualight.
This high scoring game produced some tremendous finishing, especially from the
Priests Llyod Dorgan in the first half. However Nualight gave an excellent 2nd
half display to make the scoreline more respectable.
The
Priests who have been by far the best team all season now only need a point to
seal the title against CUH on Wednesday.
CUH
beat a weakened Douglas Mortage side 5-1. Ivan Weir with a hatrick for the
Wilton Boys who had Anthony O’Brien in brilliant form.

Korona
also took a giant step towards division 1 champions once again as they
dispatched Far From Athletic rather easily after a tight first half. FFA were
quickest out of the blocks as they raced into a 3-1 lead. Wayne O Callaghan
with 2 excellent early goals. However Far From had no answer to the powerful Croatian
centre forward Romis Ibisi who was central to the Koronas comeback who scored 5
times.
The
Tools who moved into 2nd spot, were also impressive as they beat the
Celts 7-2. Eoghan Murphy and Colin Hammond were best for the Tools who gave an
excellent all around team performance and kept the ball from their opponents
for long periods of the game.
