douglasmortgage.ie hold out against Balaga

Wednesday Division 2
Douglasmortgage.ie seemed to be cruising to an easy win against FC Balaga Tonga. They lead 4-0 at half time. However three fast goals early in the second period for Tonga ensured an exciting final twenty minutes. Jim Walsh sealed the win for douglasmortgage.ie when he scored his third with 5 minutes remaining.
Two hospital teams, CUH and The Bons conjured up a thriller that ended in victory for CUH. The score was tied at 2-2 with about five minutes left when Cathal O Sullivan scored a marvellous goal to seal the win for CUH and keep them joint top of the table.
Even though the clash between Rosies and Sons of Pitches ended in a comfortable victory for Rosies, the real story was the performances of two players, Jerry O Reilly of The Pitches and Antoine Bercy of Rosies. Both players illuminated the match with sparkling performances.
The Club Redz and Far From Athletic encounter was an enthralling affair which ended in a 2-2 draw. Deccie Ahern equalised with his second goal of the evening for Club Redz at the death. A draw was a fair result.

Wednesday Division 3
Mick Dowd scored twice in the first half to give BNYM an early lead against Substandard Liege. However Tony O Donovan’s cracking goal just after half time inspired Substandard and they went on to win 6-2.
Dan McSweeney and Darren Morgan were in top form for Hit and Miss during their match against The Castlemartyres, scoring four and three goals respectively. Jim Mellis and Brian O Connell responded for The Martyrs.
Goal Keeper Jerry Coleman made some great saves and was generally outstanding for Marys Ramblers during their contest with The Average Joes. Meanwhile Adrian O Donoghue scored twice for the Ramblers while Wojtek scored a rocket from the half way line for The Joes.
Two excellent goals from Paul O Leary helped Barstoolona to their most impressive win of the season when they defeated Boca Seniors 7-3.  Ian O Connor and William Punch were also on the score card for the winners.

Wednesday Division 1
The Refugees were defeated for the first time in two seasons by The Kids in a very entertaining and feisty top of the table clash. The Refugees were 2-1 ahead late in the first half , but the concession of two great goals in quick succession knocked them out of their stride. The Kids went on to win 5-2.
Kevin Garde scored a brace and put in an outstanding all around performance for Temple Inn when they easily defeated Racing 5-2. However the goal of the match was an outstanding goal scored by Luke Hennessy and set up by Chen for Racing.
Despite being held at 2-2 at half time, QEF dominated the second half as they defeated a sporting Dynamo Tonduff. Danny Meade scored a magnificent hat trick for the winners.

Thursday Division 2
John Fahy notched three points for TA Sheehan when he scored a last minute winner against BNY United. As the final whistle approached, the momentum was with BNY as they had brought the tie back to 3-3 from 3-1. The Fahy winner, which was scored against the run of play, was greeted by great scenes of joy by the lads from TA Sheehan.
The Net Busters maintained their grip on this division with a convincing win over JT Specials. Jake Smith was in top form for the winners and scored a fine hat trick.
Ronan O Neill and Sean Tobin scored two goals a piece for Bank of NY during their 4-2 victory over The Flying Column. However, the goal of the match was scored by Dan McCarthy for the Column when he ghosted between a defender and the keeper for a great headed goal.
Cormac Long of The Apple Exiles scored two late goals to break The Whitfords hearts and win a hard fought encounter by two goals to one. Gavin Roser had given The Whitfords an early lead.

Thursday Division 1
The Unknowns remain undefeated at the top of the division after a hard earned 6-2 win over The Bandits. It looked like an upset was on the cards when Shane Comerford and Louis Docherty scored two early goals for the Bandits but The Unknowns put in a great second half effort and won easily in the end.
Stephen Lynch was in top form between the sticks for The Booze Crew, making a host of spectacular saves, during their encounter against the All Blacks. His performance inspired the Navy lads against an out of luck All Blacks. The Crew won 2-1.
Tim O Connor put The Ex Pats ahead twice but they were pegged back on both occasions by a resilient Pity The Fool. The talking point of the match was the goal scored by The Pity keeper direct from a throw.
United and Thirtysomethings were all square at half time after Jake McAuliffe and Fiachra O Driscoll swapped scores. The Thirtsomethings upped their performance in the second period and eventually won the encounter 6-3.

Thursday Division 3
 Rory Walsh scored a hat trick was the man of the match for CPL FC as they opened their account with a 6-2 win over Panikyaikos. Seamus O Brien scored a brace for the East Cork men.
Robert Cole was outstanding in goal for The 49ers as they easily overcame South City. Mick Ryan bagged a hat trick for the winners.
