Substandard Defeat League Leaders

Wednesday Division 3
The surprise of the evening was the 9-4 win Substandard Liege had over league leaders and previously undefeated Hit and Miss. This result blows this division wide open. James Mealy and Tony O Donovan were outstanding for the winners and contributed 7 goals between them.
The Boca Seniors and Average Joes encounter was a hard fought but sporting match, the result of which was in doubt up until the 55th minute.  However, two very late goals by Erik Montgomery and Wostech sealed the win for The Joes. Erik Montgomery, once again was outstanding and scored three goals.
BNYM FC were forced to rue a host of missed opportunities during their encounter against The Castlemartyres when the latter scored a late equaliser against the run of play. Despite BNYM having most of the possession, The Castlemartyres defended valiantly and grabbed their opportunity when Simon McKeon equalised.
Barstoolona have rediscovered their early season form and appear to be scoring for fun at the moment. They had a comfortable win again this week against Marys Ramblers. Garry Cronin and Keith Cotter scored three and two respectively for the winners.
Wednesday Division 2
The prolific Ivan Weir scored a late winner for CUH against a gallant Rosies to propel his side to the top of the division. Despite taking an early lead when man of the match Mark Foley scored after four minutes, CUH found themselves on level terms approaching the final whistle after Paddy Cronin scored a magnificent goal for Rosies. However Weirs winner scuppered any chances of an upset.
Club Redz defied their low league position and defeated the joint leaders douglasmortgage.ie 2-1.  The experienced Club Redz easily coped with the long ball tactics employed by Douglas and deserved their win. Deckie Ahern and Terry Yelverston scored the Redz goals while Graham Hyde responded for Douglas.
Sons of Pitches were denied their second win of the season by a great Bons equaliser in the last minute. Ian Forde and Emil Mucha combined neatly before Ian gave the SOPs keeper no chance with a well struck shot.
Despite falling behind to an early Balaga Tonga goal, Far From Athletic had little difficulty in securing three points. Pat O Regan put in a man of the match performance for Far From and contributed three goals.
Wednesday Division 1
Match.com had their first win of the season against a below strength QEF Global in a lively, competitive match that resulted in a 3-2 win for the East Cork lads. Man of the match, Brian Atkinson scored a brace for the winners.
The sides were dead locked at 3-3 with fifteen minutes remaining during the Racing and Refugees encounter. However The Refugees, who dominated possession, eventually wore the gallant Racing down and scored two late goals for a deserved victory.
League leaders, The Kids put in a superb performance to defeat a stubborn Temple Inn outfit by 5 goals to one. Their was only two goals separating the sides with five minutes remaining but two late goals by John Duggan and Michael Doody ensured victory for the men in black.
