CSKA Tongo Look Good

Wednesday Div 1
CSKA Tongo look like they will be the team to beat in this division as they overcame a strong Baggios side by 5 goals to 2. Philip Sweetman was again a handful for the Baggios defence as he scored 4 of his sides 5 goals. With Joe Dempsey and Philip Cotter running their midfield, John Duggan marshalling the defence and the reliable Damien Kennedy in goal, this Tongo side will be hard to stop this season.
Racing Club stay 2nd on goal difference after they also had a fine win, coming from 4-1 down at half time to beat Hit or Miss 7-4 with 6 unanswered goals in the 2nd half. It was a definite game of 2 halves as Hit or Miss totally dominated the first half and Racing did likewise in the 2nd. Jurgen Burowski and Paul Richardson were best for Hit or Miss and were on the scoresheet. Edward Noonan and Pedar Horgan and Jason Lake in defence were best for Racing in their 2nd half revival. Padraig McGovern scored a late brace late to seal 3 important points for Racing.
Cian O’Brien starred for CUH as they beat Fritzl Palace 4-2. Rory DeBarra scored a brace for the Wilton Boys. Sean Stack scored twice for Palace as they battled hard but just came up short against a slick CUH outfit.

Wednesday Div 2
AC Standard had a tough opening half against an Avengers side they would have been expected to dominate. However a cracking volley on the turn from an acute angle from Tim O Connor opened the door for AC Standard who then went on to dominate the 2nd half. O’Connor’s overall display was excellent and he scored 4 times.
FC Coping Badly and Crystal Fallace played out a hard fought 1-1 draw. John O’Brien scored the opening goal of the game and Robbie Doyle was in brilliant form in goal for Coping Badly but was unable to stop Pat O Regan from scoring a late penalty to earn a share of the spoils for Fallace.
Rosies had a good 4-1 win over the Lemmons. The addition of the young and energetic Dylan O’Brien added to the experienced seasoned campaigners in the Rosies side should pay dividends. Kieran Hurley came up with the killer 3rd goal for Rosies which sealed the game.
This division should prove to be tight and its hard at this early stage to pick a favourite for the title.
