Sexton Sinks River Plate

Thursday Division 1
A Paul Sexton hatrick and an excellent display from Conor McDowell in goal for the for the Net Busters was enough to take all 3 points from River Plate. The slick passing on view from the Net Busters justifies their division 1 status. Danny Meade was best for River Plate and was their lone goalscorer.
Drink Team comprehensively beat FC Copen Badly by 9-2 and look hot favourites to take honours in this division. Copen Badly coped pretty well in the first half and looked to be well in the game, but Drink Teams superior finishing in front of goal proving the difference between the sides. Sebastian Oziomek scored a hatrick for the Polish outfit.
Boca Seniors and the Thirty Somethings played out the game of the week that ended in a 3-3 draw. This game was end to end for the hour, with a draw being a fair result. Eric Cotter with a brace for Bocas while Brian McLaughlin did likewise for the Somethings.

Thursday Division 2
The Alan Jordan Memorial Cup”
The Booze Buddies made it 2 wins out of 2 and look to be early season favourites after they trounced The Cowboys. Joseph Grennan scored 5 times for the winners, and Peter Leahy scored twice in a one sided affair.
The Dreamers also have maximum points after 2 games after their hard fought win over the Sons of Pitches. The Pitches missed their best player in Michael Deasy who might have made the difference between the sides. However the Dreamers are well organised by their manager Dave Cummins and play some decent football and should also be contenders. Chris Hayes, Pa Barry and Denis Thomas were all on the mark for the Dreamers after the sides were level at the break.
Sean Jordan came up trumps for the Dragons as they won a very close game 3-2 against the JT Specials. Jordan scored a late with a strike from distance, similar to his first goal of the night. Tim O Callaghan scored the Dragons other goal, a real poachers effort after a brilliant pass out of defence. Rob Duggan and Neil Gordon were the Specials goalscorers.
Mount Oval also have 6 points out of 6 and showed they also mean business this season after their 6-1 win over AC Exiles. A hatrick from man of the match Dan Ryan was enough to ensure his side stay joint top.

Thursday Division 3
Men Utd and Ball Busters played out a thriller with a late own goal being the difference between the 2 sides. Darren Burns scored a brace for the Busters, one of which was a superb volley from 20 yards. But Joe McCarthy was also in great form for Men Utd who just about deserved the 3 points on the night. McCarthy scored along Bernard Parkes for United.
The Lemmons crusied to victory with a 10-3 win over The Mighty Reds. Justin Banks proving to be the star of the show with 4 well taken goals for The Lemmons.
Panicyakios find themselves top of the pile after their 2nd win in 2 weeks, this time a 3-1 win over the Flying Column. A brace from the impressive Eoin Healy and another goal from Eoin Savage saw all 3 points going Panicyakios's way, after they came from a goal behind. Fabrice Fortune scored the Column's only goal with a very well taken effort from a very tight angle
