Knowns Get First Win

Thursday Div 1
The Known Quantities gained their first points of the season as they beat the Ex Pats 5-3. A Padraig McGovern hatrick for the Knowns was a huge help, as was Edward Noonan’s hard work in midfield and Jason Lake contribution in defence.
Sean Jordan again impressed for Sporting CPL as they had a hard fought win over Ezy FC. Jordan produced a very energetic and impressive display in midfield and was on the score sheet 4 times. Steve Dwyer and Kevin Garde replied for Ezy FC.
The All Blacks were 2 goals to the good against league leaders the 30 Somethings but ran out of steam. Man of the match Graham Virgo led the way for a tremendous 2nd half display from the Somethings, to turn things around and keep their 100% record.

Thursday Div 2
This division seems to now be a three horse race with Apple Exiles leading the pack by 3 points. Athletico PTF and the Net Busters are in joint second spot. Argen scored twice for the Exiles who won a game that could have gone either way against the Barrack Rats. Both sides adopting an attacking game which led to a high scoring affair that produced 8 goals.
Tim Crowley was excellent in defence for the Net Busters as they narrowly beat the Bandits 2-1. Paul Sexton and Derry Nagle with the goals.
A cracking long range effort from Eoin Barrett of Athletico PTF was the only goal of the game and the difference between the sides as they just shaded a tough game against Cordal Rovers.

Thursday Div 3
This division produced 4 very close games and Panicakios still find themselves top. A late Seamus O’Brien free kick for Panicakios saw them steal all 3 points after a dogged display from the JT Specials. Dylan O Brien was also on the score sheet for the winners and Neil Gordon replied for the Specials.
The Flying Column were well on top in their game against Men Utd, but could not break down the United defence, as they hung on for a point in a 2-2 draw. Alan Mullery was best for the Column as Joe McCarthy scored a brace for United.
Aidan Fenton was outstanding for the B69ers as the beat Sons of Pitches by the odd goal in the game of the evening. The Niners were made to work hard for the points and Jay Sheehan worked hardest for the Pitches and also scored twice.
Kevin O Connell was brilliant for the Whitfords as they beat South City 3-1. He put in a hard shift in midfield and was up and down the pitch and scored the first and crucial goal for his side.
