Knowns Win At Last

Thursday Div 1
The Known Quantities are finally back to their best form after they beat league leaders the 30 Somethings 3-2 in an excellent game. It brings to an end a marvellous run by the Somethings after 8 straight wins. Ed Noonan scored the pick of the goals with a long range effort for the Knowns, who also had Padraig McGovern and Fergal Lynch on the scoresheet. This win was a big help to Sporting CPL who closed the gap to 5 points after they overcame the All Blacks 9-3 in a one sided game. Kevin Garde was in a goal scoring mood for EZY FC as they beat the Ex Pats 7-3 Garde helped himself to 4 goals and closes the gap on Sean Jordan of CPL to one in the Golden Boot.

Thursday Div 2
Apple Exiles also had their first defeat of the season as they went down 4-2 to the Bandits. Seamus Keane was excellent for the Bandits as they followed up on their demolishing job of the Barrack Rats the week before. Ronan Geary scored a bullet for the Exiles who put their opponents under pressure but just came up short because of missed chances.
The Nets Busters had a big win over Athletico PTF to now join Apple on 22 points at the top of the table. The Sexton brothers Paul and John, were the danger men for the Busters, as Paul scored a hatrick and John scored a brace.
The Barrack Rats had their 2nd win of the season with a 3-1 win over bottom of the table Cordal Rovers. Sean Hanley scored 2 clever 2nd half goals and was man of the match for the army lads

Thursday Div 3
Table toppers Whitfords and the Flying Column both won and now stand on 18 points. The experienced Jack Russell and Cameron Espey were best and ran the show for the Whitfords as they easily beat the Sons of Pitches.
An Alan Mullery strike for the Flying Column was the games highlight as the Column overcame nearest rivals Panicakios 3-1.
The JT Specials stayed in touch with a narrow 4-3 win over Men Utd. This win was a special one for the Specials as they played with a man short and also came from 2-0 down. Rob Carpenter was their star man and scored a hatrick
Ex Cork City man Kieran Crotty was excellent in defence for the B69ers as they overcame their Barrack St rivals South City 3-1. Ciaren Barry and the reliable Aidan Fenton were on the score sheet for the Niners
